    Love this footage! At the heart of this legend was a man who picked up a guitar and realised he loved to sing. in another time he would have been a troubadour or a wandering minstrel. Extraordinary singer, exceptionally beautiful, as fascinating now he was 70+ years ago. We are so lucky to experience the magic in our lifetimes.

    I have learned over the years that with all the books and tabloids that you can't believe everything you read or hear about Elvis. There were a lot of leeches around him that sold him out. Yes he was messed up in the last years but he was also filled with severe health problems like Sclerosis of the Liver which is cancer, colon problems, glaucoma, insomnia and hypertension. So he was taking several different medications to help him but they only made his problems worse. Myrna Smith said in I believe it was Joe Esposito's book 'Good Rockin Tonight' that Elvis asked the guys how was the show and they lied and told him it was great. He then asked Myrna how was the show and she told him he was fucked up. He then hugged her for her honesty. He needed more people like Myrna than the hangers-on.

      @@vickyclausen4631 Were you there? That's what I am talking about. These people lied about other stuff, so why wouldn't they lie for money? They all sold him out, except for the black people who worked for him. They were loyal to him. Sonny even admitted later on that they lied in their book to get him back for firing them. He regretted it too.

    • @vicki6070
      @vicki6070 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      @@mikem957 Unfortunately, the majority of his inner circle sold him out and profited off of his name, including Prissy, LT and Jerry Schilling, who now claims that he was Elvis' best friend.. There were a few, such as Myrna and Ann-Margret, who were always respectful of him. I think what Sonny admitted to was that they wrote the book in retaliation for being fired. I don't recall him admitting that he lied in the book. How I remember it is that he regretted writing the book but, unfortunately, the damage was done. All the best.

    This clip is a perfect example of what his Band used to refer to as you never know what Elvis is going to do 😅 He had read or heard something about his playing ability and it pissed him off. So the next thing you know, the Rehearsed Show goes out the window because Elvis is gonna prove to these nice folks that he can play. He Improvised The moment Obviously because he had to tell his band to knock it off twice because they really didn't know what to do or what he was doing right away.😂 The lesson here of course is don't ever question Elvis Presley's abilities. Thank you very much.

    Love this clip, seeing Elvis play the guitar like he did at the beginning of his career. It annoys me when people comment on his weight. He was 40, for goodness sake. Show me anyone at that age who hasn't developed even a slight gut.😮 As for his voice, that was a great comparison you showed, with the three versions of That's All Right. Brings me to another gripe - fans saying why didn't Elvis sing in the 70's the way he did in the 50's - again, 20 years down the road - NOBODY sounds like they used to when they were 20 years younger! Give the man a break! Thanks for a good commentary 😊

    Great video . I agree Elvis needed a new set list. I still don't know why he rarely sang some of these songs in concert, 1) Kentucky Rain 2) Separate Ways 3) If I can Dream 4) Don't cry Daddy 5) In the Getto 6) Always on my mind .7) Long Black Limosine , just to name a few. Singing the Olivia Newton John songs was nice - but really didn't care for them like the ones i mentioned . If anyone knows the reason why - I'd love to hear it .

    Sounding like the 5os voice a bit… there is a brief part of a song Elvis did in the late 70s on one of the bootlegs concerts which I can’t remember what song or what concert but I’ve I’ve been searching for again but can’t find. ELVIS IS THE MAN MAY HELP LOL. ?? I got a woman? Love me? But he sings a line of it and he says “that’s the way I use to sing.. laughing at himself .. I have faith in you bro!!

    I like that clip, particularly because of the different singing style, as well as the guitar. Somewhere here on TH-cam, maybe on your channel or maybe not, there was a recording of him sometime in the 70s starting “That’s Alright Mama” in his original voice. I have searched for it in the past couple of years, and can’t find it. Are you familiar with it?

      No, I’ve never heard of it. But, I will say I do like the style of the song rather than other styles that were more used to.

      I can remember watching that clip also, he sings in a high kind of nasal way, as a joke, think it was late, like 1976 or something.

    I agree that everything about Elvis is interesting, even the negative. He was almost other-worldly.
    Can you recommend some of his best concerts to listen to?

    • @ElvisistheMan_
      @ElvisistheMan_  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It depends on what you’re into. 1969, he always brought the energy. But they do get a bit repetitive because the Setlist is the same. Anything in August or November 1970 is good but sometimes the audio quality is not. November 1971 is great! Early January February the shows were good 1972. Start there. 👍🏻

    Your wish has come true. There is someone with a you tube channel called Sivle Nora. This person claims to be Elvis after his death and has performed these songs. With a very strange setlist of songs. It is just guitar and voice. The funny thing is it's supposed to be Elvis in hiding and to fool everyone Elvis simply wrote his name backwards Elvis-sivlE Aron-norA and just carried on with life. Recorded a strange selection of songs then got them to the public using his backwards name
    My opinion on the whole situation is these are Elvis studio outtakes 60'/early 70's. And it's simply sounds like he's running through these songs. Either singing for the band so they get an idea or he's just singing to himself.
    The voice is really Elvis and the guitar playing Elvis' style.
