Back in March 2005 when Paul died, I searched high and low for the video from this show. I wanted to remember them as they were even after their public life together had ended. Still friends. And still really, really good together.
First song I ever heard them play live - at Leicester de Montfort hall in 1992 - Paul was on fine form that night too. What an experience it was to hear them play this live as the show opener!
Hey I was there too, Paul climbed up onto the balcony ledge and walked it all the way round stopping where i sat on the left hand side. Didnt they let two blokes play Better Be Home Soon that night? I think they let two girls sit on the drum riser too. They played Convent Girls too and Tim supported and joined them in the set too. Great Night!!
@@adybriggs3788 - yes! That’s the night. Paul did his balcony walk. We were in the standing area and it seemed he was perilously high up! And yes - this was the phase when they often got people up on stage with them. I saw them a few times on that tour , so they’ve merged into one, and I can’t remember all the details but it was an amazing gig - very energetic in every way. Let’s hope the new line up can capture some of that when we finally get to see them...
Wow! That was awesome!
