My favorite part about the program that spawned the G11 is how much money was spent to essentially figure out optics make people more accurate. Hence the ACOG was born!
Interesting note about the G11; One of the main reasons it didn't get further worked on to fix issues like expansion or the rounds' primer not being completely burned up was because while they were working on it, the Berlin Wall came down and German Reunification happened, and as a result, German defence spending basically collapsed. In the end, HK had to go for a more conventional design that would eventually lead to the G36.
It’s an interesting gun but I think the only thing of value with it is the ceaseless ammo, everything else is just fluff. But you really need to ask, what is the gain of case less ammo except for weight? Don’t get me wrong, making munition lighter means you can go bigger caliber for less weight or just more ammo but that wouldn’t be a a huge game changer you know?

10:20 A bakers dozen does exist, and it was 13. It was to make sure the baker wasnt fined in the 16th century for not providing a perfect doezen. So bakers made one more than nessecary each time and would have a spare if one of them wasnt to the standards that were set in place.

I think a point a lot of people dont think about caseless ammo is heat retention. Recently fired brass is very hot and thats a good thing. Its getting all that heat out of the system by ejecting it.

About that sewing machine mechanism: Allegedly in the very, very early days HK was trying its hand in civilian production and they were, allegedly, making sewing machines.
It was in Call of duty:Black Ops, and it was in the zombies mode for that game, and I believe it has another appearance in a couple of other games like cod
First time i ever saw this gun was in 007 agent under fire. Me and my sister always called it: The Brick Gun Memories! That gun also had a calico submachine gun in there. the m950 specifically. We called that one The Fish Gun cuz it looks like a fish

Also fun fact about the g11, the gun fires so fast when in burst mode that by the time it fires its burst of 4, the recoil impulse still doesnt hit the shooter until a slight bit later.
Idea was to increase hit probabily over long range by firing 3 bullets in tight grouping. For most rifle bursts aren't very good for long range, because recoil will cause 2nd and 3rd shot to stray from first.

The G11 became a bit of a fascination to me when I first found it in Fallout 2. It led to me browsing wikipedia articles about it, and it had many, MANY years of developement just to make it work. I've even watched some gun channel talking about it in great detail. Truly a fascinating piece of craftsmanship that was sadly never adopted or saw actual combat. If something like that were to be researched and tested, I reckon it would have some kind of electric system feeding the rounds. It would make for a really cool gun for special forces, because as you mentioned, grunts would probably find ways to damage the guns in the most stupid, mind blowing ways. And then we'd have a future Zach having meltdowns over it.
Hearing Zach realize he has gotten excited about bricks made me realize how much I have done the same. I may have more special memories because I live next to a lake and bricks are always eroded or half-eroded. I have a favorite brick that, based on material, color, and what I can guess it was formed like, was a fireplace brick that was specifically tempered for the inside of fireplaces. The ends have rounded, and there's two holes in the sides. Best paper weight I own
I think it's funny that the only game I've ever personally played that had a G11 in it was call of duty black ops which is especially funny that they attempted to put a ton of cold war guns in the game despite the fact that a lot of them were made in the 80's when the game is set in the late 60's

So 6 or 7 years ago I got a pack of socks for christmas that were cotton that felt like silk that fit around your foot so perfectly. the G11 is underrated as hell in terms of a mod. its the only satisfying mod that uses 5mm. For some reason no p90 mod uses it but this one does and im all for it.

A baker's dozen (IIRC) is a dozen plus whatever dough was left over. Some people made and some batches of bread baked with variance, so the person buying the "Baker's Dozen" was buying a certain amount of cooked dough, not just what looked good. Some places and times had rationing, it was partially so that they couldn't skim people out of food.
Speaking of weird guns, I remember seeing a forgotten weapon that was basically a revolver shotgun. I think the way it was “cocked” was by pulling the barrel, and firing released the barrel backwards to trigger? It was interesting and weird, I think it was an interwar period gun.
The HK G11 was also designed to be "recoilless". The 3 round burst is set at 2100 rpm, the idea being 3 rounds would be down range before recoil kicked in. Down side, the user has to then deal with 3 rounds of recoil all at once. This is also why a swiss watch falls out of the back of the gun on disassembly
The G11 is such a cool gun. It was for sure one of my favorites growing up, ever since I discovered it in IGI 2 if anyone remembers that game. I know we barely saw Zach fire it here, but I really hope there's an option to put it in the insane 2100rpm burst fire mode it has.
God this brings back memories of the Black ops 1 G11 and it's wacky ass not-an-ACOG scope it had. I remember being a little curious about it and looking into the G11's construction and it made my head hurt. Still does to this day lmao.
Another problem with caseless ammo me and a friend discussed is that it’s harder to mass produce it due to the materials needed to make ‘em. This was when we were talking about Starfield’s guns, where caseless ammo is significantly more common.

I find about the G11 is that the recoil would hit you after the third bullet would leave the barrel on firing in 3 round burst if i remember correctly
It has an increased fire rate in three round burst, so that can happen. It fires slower in full auto.

The G11 became a bit of a fascination to me when I first found it in Fallout 2. It led to me browsing wikipedia articles about it, and it had many, MANY years of developement just to make it work. I've even watched some gun channel talking about it in great detail. Truly a fascinating piece of craftsmanship that was sadly never adopted or saw actual combat. If something like that were to be researched and tested, I reckon it would have some kind of electric system feeding the rounds. It would make for a really cool gun for special forces, because as you mentioned, grunts would probably find ways to damage the guns in the most stupid, mind blowing ways. And then we'd have a future Zach having meltdowns over it.
By far one of my favorite guns (being that I adore anything mechanical ) I would love to own one sad they never made a civilian version
Hearing Zach realize he has gotten excited about bricks made me realize how much I have done the same. I may have more special memories because I live next to a lake and bricks are always eroded or half-eroded. I have a favorite brick that, based on material, color, and what I can guess it was formed like, was a fireplace brick that was specifically tempered for the inside of fireplaces. The ends have rounded, and there's two holes in the sides. Best paper weight I own
I actually made a Burst-Fire Framework, and pigness has been using it quite a lot. Would be great to use on the Kraut Wizard gun.

I think it's funny that the only game I've ever personally played that had a G11 in it was call of duty black ops which is especially funny that they attempted to put a ton of cold war guns in the game despite the fact that a lot of them were made in the 80's when the game is set in the late 60's

God Zach, you just unlocked a f****** memory in my brain talking about socks. So 6 or 7 years ago I got a pack of socks for christmas that were cotton that felt like silk that fit around your foot so perfectly. I wore those damn thing for the longest time but when I used them all up my mother couldn't remember where she got them so i've been on the hunt for years

the G11 is underrated as hell in terms of a mod. its the only satisfying mod that uses 5mm. For some reason no p90 mod uses it but this one does and im all for it.

A baker's dozen (IIRC) is a dozen plus whatever dough was left over. Some people made and some batches of bread baked with variance, so the person buying the "Baker's Dozen" was buying a certain amount of cooked dough, not just what looked good.
Some places and times had rationing, it was partially so that they couldn't skim people out of food.

Speaking of weird guns, I remember seeing a forgotten weapon that was basically a revolver shotgun.
I think the way it was “cocked” was by pulling the barrel, and firing released the barrel backwards to trigger? It was interesting and weird, I think it was an interwar period gun.

The HK G11 was also designed to be "recoilless". The 3 round burst is set at 2100 rpm, the idea being 3 rounds would be down range before recoil kicked in. Down side, the user has to then deal with 3 rounds of recoil all at once.
This is also why a swiss watch falls out of the back of the gun on disassembly
The G11 is such a cool gun. It was for sure one of my favorites growing up, ever since I discovered it in IGI 2 if anyone remembers that game. I know we barely saw Zach fire it here, but I really hope there's an option to put it in the insane 2100rpm burst fire mode it has.

God this brings back memories of the Black ops 1 G11 and it's wacky ass not-an-ACOG scope it had. I remember being a little curious about it and looking into the G11's construction and it made my head hurt. Still does to this day lmao.

I also have a stamped brick I took off an abandoned homestead in the mountains. Very cool for sure.
Another problem with caseless ammo me and a friend discussed is that it’s harder to mass produce it due to the materials needed to make ‘em. This was when we were talking about Starfield’s guns, where caseless ammo is significantly more common.
