Mammoth Meatball Created With Extinct DNA

  • Food Scientists in Australia are bringing back a meat not seen in thousands of years - the Wooly Mammoth. A company called Vow injected mammoth DNA into the muscle cells of a sheep. For the missing strains of genetic code, the scientists added African elephant DNA because they’re the mammoth’s closest non-extinct relative. Mammoth meat won’t be on sale any time soon, or possibly ever. The creators say they haven’t even tasted it.
