If she did it was because the Italian police pressured her.
They are different, not in a good way, the Italian police.
In Italy, you are guilty and must prove you are innocent.
It’s the opposite in the US.

@@SnowLeopardForeverYeah, I googled the case and it is as you say.
This is from a Forbes article (June 5):
*Knox told the court Wednesday she was coerced by police into implicating Lumumba (she said an Italian police officer slapped her multiple times while saying 'Remember, remember”), the BBC reported, and apologized for the harm that came from her false claims.*
*Knox was 20 years old when Kercher was killed, and Knox and her ex-boyfriend were immediately the prime suspects in the case, a status that earned her a 53-hour interrogation session in the days immediately following the death that she has said included physical abuse by police officers without a lawyer or interpreter present.*
*After that interrogation, she signed an Italian language confession implicating herself and accusing Lumumba of killing Kercher, the New York Times reported.*
*"I'm very sorry that I wasn't strong enough to withstand the pressure from the police," Knox reportedly told the court Wednesday. "I never wanted to slander Patrick. He was my friend, he took care of me and consoled me for the loss of my friend. I'm sorry I wasn't able to resist the pressure and that he suffered."*

Before making these kind of uninformed statement get informed.
If what you say is true, that in Italy innocent people are admitting crimes that they did not do, I can only deduce that the 5 to 1 statistical rate of criminals in the US is even higher. Shall we say then 8 to one or even 10 to one?
If Italy has a problem with too many innocent people in jail the US has the one of way too many guilty people locked up.
