They don’t have trillions of euros lying around to spend on a new pipeline. They can’t just make money out of thin air. Most of their gas supply relies on Russian transport, and let’s be honest, these countries are generally friendly toward Russia-they don’t view Russia as the enemy. So when the gas stops flowing, expect prices to spike in these countries. And don’t be surprised if Ukraine’s EU membership goes up in smoke. The alternative is three times more expensive-yes, three times! Not just one or two times, but three times more expensive. That’s catastrophic for these countries, especially Slovakia. Hungary and Slovenia might manage, but Slovakia might really suffer. Gas prices will skyrocket, and it's not just a minor inconvenience-it’s an economic disaster. Seriously, not every country is the United States, where they can just whip up solutions out of thin air, wrapped in some magical economic bubble. Get out of your bubble and face reality."

@@Ubesoft-vc5te I noticed that while you explained the challenges Slovakia, Hungary, and Slovenia face, you didn’t propose any concrete solutions to the problem. The reality is that no country under attack would continue relying on critical infrastructure controlled by its aggressor-it’s a matter of national security. Expecting Ukraine to allow enemy pipelines to operate on its territory during a war is absurd.
But the most important in my opinion, if someone dismisses the suffering and loss of life in Ukraine, why should Ukraine prioritize the economic concerns of countries that are unwilling to address their dependency on Russian gas? It’s not just about gas prices-it’s about standing against aggression and ensuring long-term energy security, even if the initial steps are costly. Solutions may be expensive, but ignoring the problem or maintaining dependence on an aggressor is far more damaging in the long run.

This has absolutely nothing to do with the war.
      1) The unelected "EU commissioner" Ursula von der Leyer, has been saying publicly and openly even before the war, that "The EU must be "independent" of (cheap) Russian gas. Why?
      2) Again before the war, the offices of Gazprom were time and again raided by German police, supposedly to "investigate". They were not investigating a single thing, they were simply trying to terrorize the company. Why?
      3) Again before the war, the European "union" was demanding from Gazprom to re-negotiate the terms of already signed contracts. Why?
      4) Again before the war, the European "union" was demanding from Gazprom to implement the "Third energy pack", which would involve things right from the outset unacceptable like transferring control of Russia's very own gas system, to the EU. Why?
      5) Right now immediately after "Ukraine announced" that the gas deal had not been renewed, the response from the European "Union" was, "Don't worry, we are prepared, WE KNEW IT". Where did they know it from?
Finally, do I even need to say anything about the completely non-existent investigation about who attacked North Stream 1 and 2?
To conclude. Ukraine had absolutely nothing to do with this. Ukraine simply did as it was told by its american masters, turn off the tap, make Europeans completely dependent on infinitely more expensive American LNG, all not only in knowledge but in fact with the active co-operation of European politicians.
