  • Even after living in Taiwan, we still have so much to learn about Asian markets! My friend Lili takes us through a tour of a local Asian market here in Denver and shares her favorite produce and cooking styles.
This is the beginning of a series of U.S. Asian market tours so stay tuned for more.

Didn’t realize this video is a couple years old. Does Lily have a TH-cam channel or blog? The ingredients shopping was a great start but I want to know more about the cooking part.

I have shopped our asian markets here in Greenville, SC for a few years now and have learned a lot by asking questions and just reading on my own. Still, this is so helpful. Thanks for the videos!

I love going into Asian stores and being awed by the exotic foods, and trying stuff, and I always wanted someone like this chef to tell me what I was looking at. I learned things on this video. Like I think I'm ready to try lotus root. And that is big for this guy. What I don't understand is why this video is so under-seen. I bet tens of thousands of people would check this out if they knew about it.

Thank you #theurbanveg, a truly beautiful insight, I find myself wanting to learn more about southern Asia culture and really find my self curious about the ingredients and dishes. You both are very insightful and I look forward to future videos. Hope you all are healthy and safe.

GSDFB thank you so much for this feedback. Seems everyone in the Asian countries we visited is truly ready and excited to share their culture and dishes. The most friendly people we ran into!

Taiwan cabbage is actually also one of the most common vegetable in Taiwan, you can find them in every grocery stores here, usually they chop it in half when they’re selling it cuz it’s too big! So you probably never seen it in Taiwan because they look kinda different when they chop it in half.

Thank you for the education on the varioous veggies that I have wondered about, and for the info of avoiding those sauces that have dead cow in them. Vegetarians will be careful to avoid.

Then 3.49 a pound for pea leaves and then you only eat the end and throw away the rest? I can get meat a lot cheaper
