  • Vietnam grocery shopping with prices. Follow me as I take you around a supermarket in Vietnam and show you the prices locals pay for food. It can be cheaper if you go to a local food stall, however in this vlog I show you what it's like to shop at the supermarkets here.
    **I do not mention anything about what it's like to shop as a vegan/vegetarian/gluten-free, I'm sure there is plenty of other information out there on these topics.**
    Thanks for watching!! If you like this vlog make sure to give it a like and subscribe :)

      The avocados in Thailand are definitely not cheap. Avocado is one of my favorites but I have to give it a pass to stay on budget. Vietnam is looking better and better for expats as Thailand continues to price themselves out of the market.

    I am suprised that prices in some European countries are cheaper than in Vietnam and all those countries have much higher average salary than Vietnam. In my country for example every product is cheaper than in Vietnam and average salary is 2-3 times higher in my country...and when you consider that you have to pay two times more for rent in Ho Chi Minh city then in our capital city Belgrade i am asking myself how is it possible to survive for regular person in Vietnam.

    • @Crafterasher
      @Crafterasher 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The ave listed salary in VN is not actually what the locals make (tax shelter if you know what I mean...:-)).

    • @huynhthong2937
      @huynhthong2937 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      How much average salaries do people get in your country? Vietnamese workers can earn 250-500 € / month. They don't pay income tax at all.I live in Ho Chi Minh city.These are my monthly fees: Health care insurance is only 30€/ year, wifi network 7€/ month, room rate 70€/ month, other facilities. Totally I pay 200€/ month for single person.

      @@huynhthong2937 It's very wrong to say that we don't pay income tax lol. We DO, it's just that the companies have subtracted the tax on your behalf.

      Yeah I'm a Vietnamese and moved to the US for college 2 years ago. I always thought that Vietnam was so affordable until I realized the cost of living/average salary there is so much higher compared to the US or some European countries. I think a very typical middle income Vietnamese living in the city would earn $400-$600/month on base salary (But no one survives on base salary alone). But a 1 bedroom studio out of the city center would easily be $300 already, and not even mention most properties in HCMC, Danang, and Hanoi are often more than $100,000 for just a tiny house or a bit larger if it's an apartment. You can have a look here: www.numbeo.com/property-investment/in/Ho-Chi-Minh-City?displayCurrency=USD

      @biber9979 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@KhanhPham-bb4uw exactly. Just check property prices in Houston/Dallas/Charlotte...each city is cheaper to buy property then HCMC and those cities have really high average salary and they have so much to offer(better education, better health care, great infrastructure...)
