@@007Julie No one's putting any time constraints on them, these videos could be longer if they want to. But even in 25 minutes, they could've omitted several things from America in order to include more info about the rest of the world. Were Bagel Bites & "Small Wonder" really that important compared to say Jackie Chan's "Police Story", which revolutionized Hong Kong action cinema, or the founding of Studio Ghibli? The keyword you brought up is "easier", which indicates less effort.
Back to the Future, this movie gets never bored me.

It would be weird if it caught up to the present, but then continued to make accurate retrospectives of events that haven't happened yet. Maybe time their release schedule so that the next year happens on april fools or something.

It’s crazy to look back in the decade that defined much of what we are today and realize that I lived through that right out of high school and didn’t think anything about it! This is truly the best decade of the 20th Century! What a time to grow up!

I was born in '75 and I lay no claim to that decade! How does this video "remind" you of your childhood when you were an infant? I personally remember '78 and '79 as good years because I have an good extremely good memory and excellent recall of my toddler years but the 70s mean not that much to me.

A defining year for teen movies: Back to the Future, The Breakfast Club, St. Elmo's Fire, The Goonies, Weird Science, Teen Wolf, Real Genius, Just One of the Guys, The Legend of Billie Jean, Fright Night, etc...
Such an incredible lineup that all these movies would play on cable over and over in the 90s making them iconic.
Back when people actually wrote movies instead of just reboots remakes and comic book bullshit. Hollywood is dead.

I really thought the 80's as a whole was a bad decade for music. Movies on the other hand...probably the best decade for movies.
John Gordon it wasn’t as good as the 60’s or 70’s but it’s still miles ahead of today’s music. 2000’s pop is far better than today’s garbage.

I was born 22 years previousy to you. I always wished I'd been able to experience the 60s. But I feel blessed to have experienced the dawning of the digital age, and to have been raised an analog kid.
I was also born in 89, and for me the 80s is also my favourite decade. I love history in general so other decades and eras are also fascinating, but the 80s are my favourite!! :D fashion, technology, music. It's awesome!

Just a quick note about Phil Collins and Live Aid - he didn't land in Philly as Concorde had no service to PHL. He landed in NYC and took a helicopter to Philly and back the same day. Small details that nobody cares about, I know, I know. Love your vids - keep em coming!

I think that 1985 is the quintessential year of the 80's. My mind always thinks of 1985 when thinking about the 80's, and it's not just because it's in the middle. I always go to 1991 when I think of the 90's.
The 80's (as an identity) lasted from 1983 to 1988. By 1991 the 90's (as an identity) was pretty much in full swing, where it stayed until 1997. 1998 and 99 were more like warm-up years for the 2000's...
For the 90s I go to '96 but that's probably because I started having more consistent and clear memories by then. I was 6 lol

LOVE this series! Talk about a walk down memory lane...83 - 86 were 3 of the best years of my LIFE, when I was a sophmore, junior, and senior in highschool. Nope, I'm not a "jock", pining for the long, lost glory days. I was in a rock band and livin' large! D&D, girls, and guitars was my life (and I was still valedictorian). Now, I'm in a rock band again, and still having fun...though I go to bed a hell of a lot earlier these days! Bwaaaa, haa, haaa!

Yep, 1985, my birth year. So while I was a 90s kid in terms of culturization, I still love a lot of 80s things because some of my first solid memories were of 80s trends right before the 90s really got going strong.
Honestly I think the 80s give me the most faux-nostalgia overall, because even though I don't have much, if any working memory of the 80s, I still really really liked the media that carried over into syndication and cable, so I ended up being something of an 'echo 80s kid'.
This was great. I was born in 76, so all of this was in the part of my childhood I remember very well. Thx for the run down memory lane!

Yeah, I remember hands across America. I lived a couple of blocks away where it was suppose to connect so, I figured why not do it. A lot of gaps.
I remember handing out flyers for that.
I did it in DC. My conservative family thought I was nuts. No gaps near us and I wondered for a long time if it truly was across the country.
Please make more of this format, for example other decades like the 70‘s or 90‘s.
It‘s absolutely fascinating to watch, I just love it. Never missed an episode.

I remember one of NJ State Troopers pulling over a car near the Meadowlands and finding a drunk Iron Sheik and one of “All American” styled (Hacksaw Jim Duggan maybe?) wrestlers inside.

Joe R M hacksaw Jim duggan and iron sheik and they had I believe weed on them and was arrested. It was a major deal because Hacksaw was a “babyface” ( good guy) and Shiek was a “heel” (bad guy) and it was unheard of to have them travel together especially since on tv they were in a feud lol so it kinda peeled the veil back to show wrestling was a staged show (shocker lol)
