    Marss went GODE MODE THIS TOURNAMENT!
    He only lost 3 games, 3-2 with Meister and 3-1 with Samsora, and just straight up 3-0 everyone else
    Also Meister got the worst possible opponents , he lost to Maars Winner Quarters and lost to MKLeo on Loser Semis

      I want to thank you! As a casual player, I often get amazed by how pro players can pull of those crazy combos and kills. If it wasn't through your analysis, I wouldn't realize how deep of a thought process there was behind those big plays. Keep up the great work!

    Marss finally won an S tier and he has set his dominance in top 5 as the elite 4.
    Everyone else has won a S tier tournament and beaten leo.
    Samsora Shine
    Nairo Mainstage
    Tweek Frostbite
    Now Marss Genesis 7
    Leo is probably the champion. Either way this season is focused on marss x leo. I'm hype for that.

    it's crazy how you can go in such depth for every decision each player makes, when in the actual match these players are making these decisions and actions pretty much on the spot with no time to think or react. goes to show how rooted smash is in these players minds. great analysis btw.

  • @Dancing-Spirits

    3:40 mkleo did even more of this. After the first one mkleo did full hop single gun then used his remaining air time to double jump back towards center. Even after this mkleo starts to walk towards center stage. Whether it's a whiff (full hop single gun) or a hit (backflip bair) mkleo is fully aware of keeping center stage, and protects it after both. And the main thing here is, amarada pointed it out, is that mkleo uses his movement wonderfully this way, but what's even more beneficial is mixing up movement. As I pointed out mkleo uses a walk back, a double jump back, and a dash back to put himself in a good position where he can read his opponent trying to get back to good stage position. There is even more options with other characters, so make sure you practice and master you character's options.

    38:50 im pretty sure that dragdown downsmash isnt true at that percent, I've seen leo opt for a grab instead of a downsmash in similar percents, it was a high risk high reward situation as it was mentioned in the video, he was behind and bet it all, but even then it doesn't look like leo overextends much more in the rest of the game.

  • @MerryBlind
    @MerryBlind 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    That was the most hype set I’ve seen so far in Smash Ultimate!! Every second of it was so tense and exchanges were so explosives! Sure it seems like MKLeo wasn’t on top of his game, but Marss played like a mad lad he just went all out throughout! Props to him!

    • @MagxNolia
      @MagxNolia 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't like this mentality that Leo lost cause he was "playing his best" Its easy to go back and see after the fact that he wasn't hit things that he usually does but that can also be because of the pressure that his opponent puts on him. I know that you're not trying to take credit away from Marss but it just feels like backhanded compliment, no offence.

    • @MerryBlind
      @MerryBlind 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jalen Well it’s like this for any kind of competition really. Participants involved don’t always perform consistently and that’s just being human. If anything I’m throwing shade at Leo not Marss (though I’m not). I mean, good on Marss for reading so well into Leo’s mistakes. Seems like you understood my comment the wrong way and are reading too much into it. I did say that was the best set I’ve ever seen in Ultimate that can’t really be a backhand compliment.

    Do you think optimal stage control is only center stage for all characters or is it character dependent? Like is Wii Fit at ledge (at least in smash 4) or Ultimate Falco's jumps circleling around tri plats to convert into advantage against a center stage opponent considered more optimal stage control for those 2 characters or no?

    • @rafikirana2468
      @rafikirana2468 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      A mix of both. Can be character dependent, for most characters you will want to be center stage but characters like zoners do like to setup at the edge of the stage. But it can also be mu dependent like let's say greninja vs lucina. The lucina will want to get center stage but the greninja doesn't want to approach the lucina due to her aerials so the greninja player decides to shuriken camp at the edge to force an approach from the lucina. Having good stage control can mean different things for different charactera and stages.

    • @colinhay1666
      @colinhay1666 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@rafikirana2468 okay that actually answers my question perfectly. Thank you! I main Yoshi and play rushdown/bait and punish against MUs that have disjoints or superior frame data. Would you say center stage control is generally the most optimal for my Yoshi play?

    • @rafikirana2468
      @rafikirana2468 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@colinhay1666 For bait and punish center stage is always good to have since the opponent has to approach you. I'm a greninja main so I don't know too much about what a yohsi wants but if you head over to the yoshi discord they will have tons of people who would be happy to help you out.

    • @colinhay1666
      @colinhay1666 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rafikirana2468 Thanks so much man. Last question I swear haha.. does Greninja have any bread and butter combos or are they all strictly character/percent specific? Cause I love how Greninja feels but if he's as hard to learn as like Peach I might not want to invest the time u know?

    • @rafikirana2468
      @rafikirana2468 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@colinhay1666 greninja is character you would put time into and isn't a character you can pick up and do well with. I wouldn't say he is as hard as peach but diffently not a free character. Some bread and butter moves for him would be DA > BAIR and one kill confirm would be Dtilt > Usmash. Those are some of the simple ones but also common moves many greninja players use. Greninja is a solo viable character with maybe 1 or 2 bad mu's that can take you far as long as you put time into him. If you ever wanted to start learning the character I would visit the greninja discord FAQ then start asking questions. I'm often on the server so it wouldn't be uncommon to spot me online.

    Watched this match a few times and never noticed how many little things went Marss' way, especially that air-dodge right at the end, can't believe he survived that. MKLeo looked like he was a little cautious and maybe felt a bit nervous, and when these little things went Marss' way the games just slipped out of his fingers.
    EDIT: Marss taunts twice: once in game 2 after the double KO, and he hits rapid jab after the first stocks in game 3. This might have been to help put pressure on MKLeo, as people can often feel they have to kick your ass after you taunt at them. Maybe next time Marss will just teabag lol.
