    Yes - love this advice. I made 20 masks for a lady a few weeks ago for Bible Study and charged $300 (this was vinyl). The masks were $6 each, the vinyl about $15 so I made about $170 out of the $300. I did spent 3-4 hours doing this so I feel this was a good pricing but she did try to bring me down $50. Hold firm on pricing, custom work is worth it.

      Good for you for sticking with a great price.! We're considering a video on bulk orders and falling into the trap of underselling yourself on large orders.

    I add a small % for overhead costs to my formulas for things I make too. For example, running equipment all day can amp up the electricity bill!

    I just happened to click on one of your videos today and I am glad I did. Thank you for the great advice. I just started about six months ago and have sold around 75 tumblers. I have a hard time charging people for my time and I don't know why that is. Maybe because most of my buyer's are friends or co-workers. I realize that I am barely breaking even. After watching this, that will no longer be the case.

    This was great information. I had sold an item then the person wanted another one so I charged the same price. Then I did the math and found I was only making about $6. I live in Ca and you can get a job at Taco Bell for $17 an hour.

    I have been arguing my hubby about this. He feels like some money is better than no money and being cheaper than everyone will bring in the most sales. I just started sublimating and it's work. I love it but I don't want to cheat myself out of hard work.

    That video was so helpful! It is relatable because I was definitely pricing myself out of business-almost. Do you have a direct way to contact you? I have some very specific questions that are somewhat unique and may not be of interest to most people. Thank you so much!

    Thank you for this video. I have a hard time charging what I’m worth. I started my business and just got into sublimation a few weeks ago. I feel bad for charging so much. I need to know my worth and the worth of my work. I put a lot of time into my items.

      Don't feel bad about charging a living wage. You are customizing gifts & creating things that don't exist and things people want...not need. Be good to yourself!

    Thanks to your calculator, I realized that I was way undercharging. My sales may slow for a while, but with the new content I have coming out, it should justify the cost in the eyes of the consumer...Hopefully lol.

    This is wonderful advice, thanks. ❤️ But what about the electricity? Using equipment such as presses and printers. You also have depreciation costs. I think we have to charge for that to🙂

  • @virginiaeredia

    Also to mail it out , are we suppose to weigh product, box, etc. & harge for shipping?? So let’s say I charge for the Tumblr $23 plus tax and then I package it wet and I’m also going to charge for shipping correct??

  • @janesfavsvideos

    Question how about when the avg. Tumbler in your area are not selling at that price?? For example in my area it's hard to sell a tumbler for just $25 even on Etsy tumblers start at about $25 no matter vinyl or subbed. GREAT AND INFORMATIVE

    • @QuickSPI
      @QuickSPI  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Jane, the best way to get your price is to offer designs no one else is offering. Yes, if all tumblers look the same, customers will try to find the best price. But if you have something original, like (for example) tumblers geared toward firefighters, etc., then you have a captive audience. This is why having a line of "niche" or "target audience" designs is so important....eventually, when you build a business.

    Hi there! I am anticipating on making a customized 20 0z sublimation tumbler for myself and my husband with our names on them. When I put the names on them starting from the bottom up, do I have to mirror the letters so that they will read correctly on the Tumblers? Is there a template that can be used for this??

    • @QuickSPI
      @QuickSPI  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You definitely have to mirror the text. For names running up the side of a tumbler, (top to bottom) just use a rectangle or text box. I recommend about 2 inches for the text height. Do not exceed the viewable area on a tumbler when it comes to names/text.

    Hi, great video. I am going to try this calculator and see what results I get because I feel like I haven't been making enough with the mugs I've sold. I do have a question when you're calculating the price of the tumbler/mug blank, how would you determine the price if you bought the blanks in bulk?

    • @fuelingforthelight
      @fuelingforthelight 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Divide the bulk price you paid by the number of items in the order.
