For vehicle, if I remember correctly, most of your skill will be deactivated once you hop into a car. So in theory, your vehicle doesn't always have the benefit of your skills (sometimes shields too). This would make sense for shield like absorb shields or reflect shields to not activate their effect. If they did, you would see the damage absorbed or reflected instead

damage reduction instead of reducing damage increases the value of how much a health unit it worth
if you have 50% DR instead of 100 health you have 150 health.

@@andrewneedham3281 from what i've researched it isn't actually damage reduction but just makes it so you enemies need to deal more damage, so instead of you taking less damage you have more health value.
so 50% DR isn't actually half damage you just have 50% more health.
