    Thank you in advance.
My View My Opinion, is a commentary podcast. Everything I share is my personal opinion and is NOT to be taken as a fact. I observe public events, etc. and comment on them.
*Notice: No portion of any video/podcast/radio presentation belonging to MVMO, can be used/duplicated by any party for any reason in whole or in part. By viewing/listening, you agree to these terms AND that you will accept any consequence for violation. Thank you.*
    FAQ:
Who are you and what is your name?
My name is My View My Opinion (MVMO) & I am a Podcaster, on TH-cam. Due to safety concerns on the internet, I do not share my personal information anymore and I ask that others respect this. Also, I'm against the cult of personality & the promotion of self. I have no desire to "make a name" for myself. That's odd in this day & time I know, because most strive for this. Too many folks make themselves the center of attention instead of helping others first & allowing the information they share to be the focus of folks attention. Many crave applause, acceptance, & "fans & followers". I believe in letting the information take center stage.
Why don't you show your face?
My TH-cam channel is host to my podcast. However, I do make on camera appearances from time to time & have many times in the past- as this is how my channel started, with me on camera talking about whatever. And for those who always ask, yes, I am a black woman, LOL!!!!
What is this, where are the pictures or videos?
The MVMO Podcast is a talk radio program. Generally speaking , there aren't any pictures or vids. It is made for busy professionals like the host. To have the best listening experience, place your device down and multi-task or minimize the podcast on your cell and continue doing whatever you need to do as you have the host's voice going in the background. Your hands and eyes are free!
Where else can I find your podcast?
My podcast is only available on TH-cam. I use Spreaker, a free podcast recording app to record, but I do not have an active podcast on their site. If you hear my podcast anywhere other than youtube, feel free to let me know as it is not me but someone stealing my content.

The moment Tony Evans or any ministry allows cameras into their ministry they are then not only accountable to the people in your local fellowship, you are now accountable to the Body of Christ at large, worldwide. Exposure comes with responsibility. To whom much is given, much is required.

    Blind support
I agree with you 100%! It’s completely ignorant to have blind support.
Now, if only people would realize they practice the same blind support with politicians simply because they belong to a particular party, even if said politician literally stand for everything that goes against one’s morals.

My thing is if he didn’t want us to know his business, or to be speculating, he could have said he was retiring from the ministry. But like you said he had no intention of sitting down until he was made to do it. There is no way the Elders should be meeting with him several times over a past sin, unless it was ongoing or resulted in some recurring problem.

I personally know several neighbors in my subdivision here in Midlothian Tx. that attended that church, one being the sound engineer, and another one is a minister. I was recently invited by the sound engineer and his wife; after stating I followed some of the Pastor’s sermons online. Next thing I know this happened; needless to say I didn’t make it there in person. I told my Neighbors I was pondering the thought of playing piano/ keyboard there for free, since I’m fully retired . Unfortunately nothing manifested. I haven’t ask any of them anything, about the situation, because it just feels weird for me to ask. But like everyone else I would like to know since the Pastor put it out there.

The man is a public figure who made a public statement that he committed a sin. IMO it must have been something that was going to be exposed otherwise he could have said that he was retiring from preaching, etc. and no one would have known what was going on in the background. He should disclose the “sin” and put it to rest…diffuse the issue.

Very well said,I left a church that I was very involved with because the pastor and her husband were grifters. Because I was so active many members would ask me why I left and some I told and others I didn’t. But all of them knew and stayed till she was sent to another church. It baffled me then and it does now as well. How can you continue to sit and listen to someone talk about how you should live and follow the gospel when you know they are all about ego and power?

There is one thing to cover someone for what they did, which is a person’s choice. But to say I agree no matter what you do is scary. I have seen this, where everyone is afraid to speak on wrong doing. Everything matters as you said. There really is a lot of ignorance between this. So many prefer to put blinders over their eyes.

Biblically speaking, to the degree he sinned is the degree he needs to confess. There’s a way to confess and repent. Transparency and complete honesty is required. He is in a position of influence.. a worldwide influence in the church!!

Many churches do not follow the Biblical model of elders being overseers of the congregation and holding the senior pastor accountable. At a lot of these larger churches the senior pastor holds all of the control. Because the elders had a hand in sitting Dr Evans down, people feel this is enough for accountability.
I do think there is more to this that leadership isn’t currently comfortable with sharing, particularly if there are other people involved who don’t want to go public at this time.
If anything this should emphasize why we should never idolize or think any pastor or church leader is perfect because we don’t know what is really happening behind closed doors.

  • @ebonymitchell6963
    @ebonymitchell6963 หลายเดือนก่อน +15

The blind loyalty is definitely idolatrous. The Bible is the standard. People should have had a right to know years ago in order to make the decision as to whether they wanted to stay under his leadership.

My opinion: Since he carries a flock, he DOES owe HIS FLOCK an explanation. He should absolutely confess to THEM what he did, ask for their forgiveness & God’s forgiveness, step aside & deal with what’s going on in his personal & spiritual life.

The bottom line: stop playing in people’s faces! We can pray for Dr Evans as well as ask questions. I myself am active in the Church (not Dr Evans’ Church). We as believers come off hypocritical when we fall in line with this “don’t ask don’t tell” type of forgiveness.

At the end of the day, there are way too many so called Christians following the pastor instead of following what the bible states/God. Any decent leader knows that they have a greater responsibility to be upfront, honest and accountable to those they lead to Christ. So there should be no to and fro in regards to stepping down when sin has been committed, you don't need a handful of meetings or to be threatened into a position of leaving etc etc. Sin is sin, and I'm sure they have shouted others out boldly on the pulprit, so why make a big deal when its their turn? Step down, do the right thing, confess, especially when others had to publickly confess to you. Show everyone that you really were a man of God by doing the right thing mate.

Actually, I read his statement which does not include an apology or an expression of sorrow. Evans did not ask for forgiveness or state that he has sought forgiveness from God or from the people or person who was hurt or harmed. He didn't even ask his church to forgive him. I'm simply stating the obvious. If a leader is stepping away due to sin, shouldn't he apologize? We didn't open up this can of worms, Pastor Evans did that all by himself. I'm stating the obvious but met with offensive comments which make Oak Cliff sound more like a cult than a church.

Yes, I agree. After 8 years of being dedicated to a "ministry" I learned that it was a cult. Although they don't like to be called that, I experienced a lot of control, spiritual, mental, and emotional abuse. The main leader was caught in sin, and half our church split, at the time there were a lot of members saying they didn't need to know what he did because he "repented". The issue was he never truthfully confessed, he changed the story multiple times and from then on he cursed and excommunicated anyone that leaves the church or tries to speak up about the wickedness going on there. There's a lot of hidden and covered up wrong doing. It definitely gives #JimJones 😵‍💫

The issue is man has put this man on a pestle on a statues that is equal to God. That’s where most have failed. As a fellow Christian we have to hold individuals in leadership accountable as self. We forgive out of love but must hold All including self accountable according to the will of Gods word. When you intentionally choose to be in a leadership position representing Christ you will be judged and God says you will/should be judged more harshly than most. Still pray, forgive, and love…but people READ/STUDY Gods Word for self and stop putting your faith in man which will fail but God will never fail you.

Are some people condoning so readily & agreeable to him “stepping down” without a true confession because perhaps they are in situations themselves? Maybe, they don’t judge (as 1 Corinthians 5:12 tells Believers to judge Believers) because they, themselves, have not come to terms with their own discretions, therefore, they don’t want anyone to judge them (which ultimately would help them) so they are overly sympathetic??? 🤔🤔🤔
    Just wondering. 🤷🏽‍♀️

  • @commoncore49
    @commoncore49 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

Yes, it is an ignorant statement because behaviors of leaders in churches are in positions of trust and whatever it is that Tony Evans has decided to come clean about has created doubt in individuals that not just had trust in him, but rather who had trust in his preaching of God's word. Even though people shouldn't look at pastors as infallible, these people do put a certain amount trust in what this leader has said. We often want to see the good in leaders, but they are human and subject to error and/or mistakes and it does matter when interpretation of the Word may or may not impact you if you see a contradiction. I often say, I will follow you as long as you follow Christ once it's determined that you are no longer following Christ then it's a wrap. When a spiritual leader hides impactful information about themselves, what does that say about character? Character matters in every walk of life. One thing we do know is whatever was done, it impacted more than just his life--it impacted others and they had to suffer with whatever it was or is even now!

Agreed! This is more so about his image and his legacy. Everyone raves how upright and biblically sound he is. He is celebrated for writing a Bible commentary. So it’s weird he wants people to know he sinned and to believe he didn’t think about practicing the biblical standard of repentance and restoration until recently. Plus everyone’s sin is named in the Bible so it’s arrogant for Tony to operate like his sin is above the same biblical reproach.

If it was a sin against his body it's also a sin against God.😢

This is why I had to stop going to these types of churches because essentially they are still baby Christians. When a leader is under the influence of sin that can put the congregation under that same sin. For instance if the sin was sexual that spirit of lust will come upon those already struggling with that sin. I’d rather wear a mantle of integrity. Also we have to have discernment. I stopped listening to him long ago. Something was off in my spirit.

Most people don't know what a boundary is due traumatic learned helplessness which is generational someone needs to call out sin and hold pastors accountable for their actions. Pride is evil its against God and his people.

Been in church ministry and on staff. Multiple meetings means someone in the room DID NOT think him stepping down was needed because they highly likely were considering the popularity and money factor. They were trying to think thru all the angles...and Tony Evans himself obviously didn't say "I need to sit down anyway". People caught, get quiet and don't say much because the exposure is sitting heavy on him. He is very well aware of the hit his entire ministry and family will take. I wish these men would have thought about it before they slipped and dipped.
Julie Roys and her team do not play. She is an investigator. I did a little research and it definitely looks fishy the prior association of his new wife. Her dead ex-husband was president of Carver College while he was married to her. He died in January of 2020. Carver College had Tony Evans come to do a marriage conference in 2023. His engagement to former president's wife was a few months after that and then they got married in December 2023. How in the world did all that happen? It definitely appears this woman was looking for a come-up and had her sights on a bigger stage than her dead husband's. I wondered how could a woman who was so invested in her church and community, all of sudden uproot to Tony Evan's stage? Something obviously wasn't right behind all those curtains. And it's sad that as soon as she married Tony Evans, not even 6 months into their marriage , he is sat down. All her plans are now cancelled....at least for a very long time. She won't be able to brag about being on his arm or his wife ANYWHERE. This is very telling.

I don’t worship man, just God. Whatever happened he needs confession to God and the folk (in person and online). Confession is good for our souls.

This is a sad situation, he wascaught, he didn't come foward on his own. Alot of the ignorant comments come from people are not accepting the fact he did wrong, and they would rather just bury the situation. He ob b iosly did something so bad, he was told numerous times to step down. What a shame.

Lecrae is starting to dust too...The secular channels can see through him more than the church.

Remember Luke 12:2 says Nothing hidden shall not be revealed. Also why did he take a few years to say he sinned. As far as revealing his sin , remember that all the great men of God in the Bible such as Abraham, Samson Moses David Solomon and even Peter and Paul sins were revealed. Also his net worth is $14 million dollars. Jesus said you can't serve two masters,God and money.

It is crucial to have accountability in all aspects of life. We must be aware of our own sinfulness. Sometimes we're entrapped by our own pride, when people pedestalize us.

The signs of adultery are there. His wife was afflicted and died of cancer. His new wife husband dies on the way to Pastor Evans' wife's funeral. They have known each other for years. Lois died in 2020, and he announces he is getting married in 2023? Plus, when he made that announcement, his children didn't look thrilled since his wife is very near their age. He said it wasn't criminal, so it sounds like adultery.

Mark 4:21 Does a lamp that is lit go under the bed? Doesn’t it go o a lampstand? Well, whatever is hidden is meant to be disclosed, and whatever is concealed is meant to be brought out into the open. 23 If anyone has ears to hear, let them hear.”

My question is, will Evans daughter take over his ministry the way Jakes daughter took over his?
