This is my testimony for the glory of God. At 19 years I was involved in a car accident and few months later I was paralysed waist dow from disc degenerated and cutting through my nerves in my spine. 8 months bedridden with no hopes even if I had a surgery. I somehow came across Joni ereckson's book lying back on my bed. I dont know where that book came from. (Iam from India). I found hope in her book and accepted my condition. But one night as I was crying out in pain and helplessness Jesus came and sat next to me on my bed and said " Behold to bless Israel is God's desire" and I said Im not Israel but Indian and Jesus touched me and said " By faith you are Abraham's daughter". From then I healed completely in a month walking and sitting. Now 19 years later, mum to a kid and I can do everything with no evidence of my spinal injury. Praise be to Jesus.

@@Blackopme Jesus chooses who and what he does. it is his prerogative for he is god- he holds our lot, every one of our days. his purposes are greater than what we can ever see. for each is given a life to live for him, no matter what it looks like. we all suffer. we will all suffer. and to suffer is to be counted worthy. Place your faith always in the lord jesus, he will never wrong us. for there is no wrong in him. Joni brings healing through her words and her comfort. her soul is beautiful and the inner man is what matters. I often get down because i hate the death and decay that encircles us....its endless here on this earth. but his grace is sufficient for me, and for you. He has suffered for us, he feels everything we will ever know....and he loves us. Remember jon, that faith comes by hearing, and hearing the word of christ. Listen to his word, abide in him and he in you- and you will bear much fruit, for apart from him we can do absolutely nothing. treasure his word in you heart and mind. meditate on his character, his words, his promises and take his commands seriously as the path to life. he loves you. :)

I have great respect for you. I broke my back 24 years ago. I became a paraplegic due to this accident! My oldest sister put your book in my hands. I read it and it gave me hope. I cried while reading it in a hospital bed. I knew if you could make it then I could also. It humbled me! Now I can say, I am a child of God and Jesus is my Lord and Saviour!!! I too had breast cancer 15 years after my accident and had a mastectomy. I will meet you one day in Heaven and we will praise Jesus and walk and talk together!🙂 I thank God for you and I love and appreciate you Joni!!!!! God bless you continually!!!!🙌🙏♥️🤗🌹

I read your story when I was a little girl, in a children's book. I never thought I would actually get to listen to your voice and hear your testimony with my ears. What a blessing you are to me just by hearing your testimony!
She made a movie of her life and she plays herself, it's called "Joni." I think it was put out in the 70s. My youth group watched it in the early 90's!
I just said the same thing. I was always moved by her story. But I was so young. Now almost 50 never forgetting a day in my life of joni. I always wondered how she faired. Though this was 8 years ago. I'd like to see if now I can find more on her. I know she wrote books. But I didn't know that till tonight. God bless you. I was born in the late 1940s with a disabling heart defect, but my disability is nowhere as severe as Joni's! I simply love her because she dearly loves my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and her testimonies gives me hope and encouragement! She is a sweet, Godly woman, and I am inspired by her! The older I have gotten, the worse has my ageing heart become, causing me to be unable to do simple things, but Jesus Christ is my HELPER, and I've grown closer to Him! I'm an elderly widow now, looking forward to departing this body and become present with my Redeemer! Until then, I have work to do for Him!❤

This was shared from my bible study group. Last week my uncle fell down the stairs and broke his neck. He's paralyzed from the shoulders all the way down. My family is really going through it now, especially my Dad. We are all anxious about my uncle's quality of life, and that he will need 24 hour care for the rest of his life. This testimony brought me to tears. Thank you Joni.

What a blessing. I have a spinal cord injury, and my condition continues to degenerate, but I have the gift of trusting in Jesus.
Joni has encouraged me and others, who have gone through, that's right, through difficult circumstances. Without Christ there is little hope, that we can go through such adversity, but we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. You go girl.

We seldom seek God during times of plenty. During desperate times, and especially during extreme pain we seek the Lord. Suffering becomes a form of prayer, because Jesus suffered too. As we draw closer to Him and He draws closer to us.

I have followed Joni E. for more than 30 years... never thought she was going to be able to make it all the way just as she has. Her testimony..how the life of God has been expressed in her, is for me, one of the very few authentic christian lifes that I know that have been really open to the Lord to make everything His way and live His life in her without obstacles... What a marvelous thing the Lorrd can do when we are really open to Him. Thank you Lord for Joni, who has been a strong testimony and inspiration for thousands... cannot imagine how hard has been all this years for you!! But what is imposible for us, Is possible for Him, Would love to meet you one day in this age. :)

When God causes us to suddenly become disabled, he gives us an amazing talent only gifted by him. I’ve known several who have had to bear this journey. God has used the in a miraculous way to his glory. Joni has been a witness to millions and may God continue to bless her in every way. Often as Christians we believe that are lives are blessed (especially by God) when we receive wealth, success, and material luxurious. Often we receive these from our own efforts and they are a distraction from faith when our focus is on what we have rather than upon WHO we depend (i.e. our loving creator who sent Jesus, His Son, to die on the cross). Joni's story shows us that it is often and typically through genuine suffering and painful struggles that God uses to draw us close to Him, to experience our need of Him on a daily basis, and to open our hearts to him in trust and faith. My mother's suffering on a ventilator (life support) for three months in the I.C.U. (and being at her bedside day and night for those 90 days) had done the same for me and I thank God for using that suffering and loss to make Him a priority in my life and a daily source of my strength. Thank you Joni for being a reminder to us daily that God's love and sacrifice on the cross allows us to endure suffering with His strength so that we may glorify His name.

WOW!! This reached down so deep inside my heart and soul. I have such a desire for my husband and I to meet Joni but my husband is a homebound our car is too small for him now he has a manual wheelchair but my husband is too heavy for me to push. Trying to get him an electric wheelchair has been such a struggle. Maybe one day things will change for my husband and the struggles he has everyday.

I have experienced the same thing and I know what you mean by: "The splash-overs of heaven is finding Jesus in your splash-overs of hell." Those moments were the moments Jesus was closest to me!
Often the fears could last for more than three hours but the presence of Jesus was like heaven coming down.

That’s the very prayer Joni prayed , as you hear here, and took the dive that paralyzed her. Be very careful what up pray because God WILL use any means necessary to answer your prayer and give you what you asked for and it might not be fun.

I just had an accident
A stage door weighing 1000lb came crashing down and cracked my lower vertebrae and pelvis.
I have been inspired and encouraged by you for many years. But what a blessing to rewatch your story and feel the blessings from that during such a huge crisis in my life right now. Ironically we have been in forida helping the people from the hurricane, and then disaster struck me. I had to be airlifted out of the island.

Been a fan for decades. Prayed for you during covid. Joni, hearing you were on mend made my day.
Im in hospital having been admitted with a chest infection and the scans showed I had a fractured T12 in my spine. That was not the problem but my breathing and I could not walk 3 yards without having to stop. Long story short - my time in hospital 20 days was so incredible that I realised I had a purpose. I had come through alcoholism, sexual abuse, physical abuse and lots lots more. God had brought me THROUGH all these things. The fact that I was no longer the mobile person was not relevant. After all this heartache after Covid, lots of people are hurting and I have told the Lord - use me - in any way you like to further your kingdom. He is all that matters. This life is so short and transient, the next life is the one we need to focus on and try and help others who will certainly be going to hell if we don't tell them.
I’m sorry what happened to you, Joni. It was an accident. You have blessed so many.
God is still Healing Now
I was only two years old when you had your diving accident, Joni. And then, I had never heard of you until 1980, the year I had surrendered my life to Yeshuah as my personal savior and the greatest love of my life. 😊 I love hearing your testimonies of the way our Ababa is using you for His purpose. Thank you Joni, for sharing yourself and for sharing the way Yeshuah is using you to show us How He loves us all so much. Love you Joni! And happy new Year!

Joni I remember watching your movie as a young girl and remember thinking how utterly sad that that happened to you. I am 56 years old and have had MS for twenty years. I can walk. I thank God every day for everything He provides. I thank Him for the ability to do all my chores . Everything is His . He is my husband. He provided me with You Joni as a sister in Christ. We have been chosen to testify of Jesus with our lives. We can only do it through Him. Thank you Joni and Ken! WHAT A TESTIMONY of Christ by your lives. Happy 71 years Joni. When I died, Jesus took me home to God. We were all perfect there, all like children. My grandchildren were there, and they still with Jesus. But I had to go back.

What a blessing you have been in my life!! The example you set of leaning and depending upon Jesus pulled me through the dark time after an accident that almost killed me and left my life utterly changed. That was more than 30 years ago. I'm so glad to have found this video blog (?) that drops these wonderful little messages into my life almost every day! It's interesting you mentioned about the abundant life with living the American dream. So many Christians are paralyzed by this in our society today because of the falsehoods being presented in the mega churches today. Narrow is the way & few find it. You have found it. I pray millions more will too & be set free from the feel good false gospel. What the enemy means for evil God turns it around for good. He delivers us out of all our troubles. He never leaves us nor forsakes us. His love is everlasting.
A person can be bound in a chair physically 😢but spiritually free to serve Christ as much as they wish.

There's a lot of stuff in the media about walking instead of taking a car, or taking the stairs instead of the elevator, but these tend to relate to health, in particular: cardiovacular health. But when stories such as this come to my attention, and the notion "you don't know what you had until you lose it." I would encourage those who are able bodied to walk, simply because they can.
Joni I just love you your testimomy is just wonderful. I am in contant pain with my back also, I was an x-ray tech for over 44 yrs abd with akk the lifting and such I can't stand on my feet any longer than 10 mins. I just wanted to tell you that I admire you so much. I also wanted to tell that in my pain I have grown so close to MY LORD that U wiould not trade all the pain days for pain freedays to have to give up what I have With God.

Joni , I am a grown woman but when I was about 11 yrs old I read your story , it has never left my mind or my heart , your incredible strength and gifts God has given you stayed with me throughout the next 40 plus years. I figured it was so long ago that I would not be able to hear anything else about you but I looked you up today and wow you are right here on you tube. I have to admit that I cried tears as you told the story again of what happened to you , I can only wish to be as strong as you one day . Yes! When our Christian college group went to Urbana '93, she spoke at a breakout and of course I went. I even got to meet her afterwards. I think she's amazing. Harriet Tubman and Temple Grandin are also my heroes. Praise God for Joni and Ken!
