Yeah, I could use this. I feel there's a lot of variables involved, and I doubt the overall impactful benefits of bothering. This is probably something work discussing though in content or a future live stream.
@Techthusiasm I didn't notice any quality improvements after enabling it, but I will say it was super simple to do. I would say the main benefit would be if the rest of the household was mainly DV compatible, this setting means content library management becomes a little easier. You don't have to consider which format to download for the theater vs a DV compatible TV.
Hi Jaremy. Congratulations for your great youtube videos! I own a 65ft yacht cruiser, which is located in the Mediterranean Sea, with a Starlink connection on board. If I purchase a Strato V, would it be able to download movies?
why dont you use LLDV with your MADVR and use the DV versions of the movies? I have found that in some cases, the DV encode has a tad better representation despite Kscape not having support for FEL/MEL
I could, but I kind of feel that it is something not worth bothering with. I just downloaded like 200+ movies and easily less than half were DV to begin with. I don't think it'll make that much effective difference relative to variables involved versus just the consistency of sticking to HDR10. It's a good question though and probably worth a discussion for sure.
I noticed that when I bought a content set containing both UHD and HD titles (Insidious), that I didn't see a warning about one of those titles not yet being compatible for HD on Strato V. It may be because about 90% of the time, I choose "Don't Download". Is the warning only at the point that it gives the download choices?
In your question about different versions of the film (DV, HDR, HD, etc) - I don’t know if I missed you saying this, but can you download and play a Dolby vision version of a film even though it’s playing on a projector? There are a couple movies I have found that have different audio formats depending on the version you download. For example, Fury - you get atmos for the Dolby vision version and then it goes to 5.1 for HDR and lower.
With a Strato V, yes. The V will play a DV format download to an HDR10 display in HDR10. So, you don't have to double download both formats and waste storage space. Note, the Strato C will NOT do this.
Jaremy always bringing great tips!
Thanks!
MadVR can now accept dolby vision input, which allows you to "use" DV with projectors. The input EDID just needs set to allow LLDV.

Did the new strato v change its UI to full movies poster wall now like the original Kaleidescape; instead of having just 10 movies poster ?
The V changes to the traditional UI when it is grouped with a Terra server, otherwise it runs the movie page on that simpler design.

Hello and yes! I need to get you connected with the right folks to help service your specific needs. I will get a reply to your email ASAP.
For those of us with Ultraviolet/Vudu/Fandango libraries, is there any way to see those or transfer those over to the Kaleidascape?
Not anymore. That ended a long time ago.

Want to see lldv as well. Perhaps a comparison to the hdr version of the same film.
Great timing as my Strato V arrives tomorrow 🤙🏻🍻

I've only seen the warning show up on purchase, I think, of individual films.
when downloadinga set like GOT that is like 32 disks, is each disk needed to be downloaded for disk to digital upgrade?
One disc for the show season, in my experience, is all that is needed.

Great info, thanks
You bet!
Thanks!🎉👨🏾🦲
If you’d like to know somebody that owns a Kaleidescape for a referral, just let me know! 😂
Fill up his Terra for him so he can buy another one from me! 🤣 Then I can finally buy the Ubiquiti stuff!
I definitely need a referral code :) Just ordered my V and it should arrive at my dealer tomorrow. Not sure how to message through TH-cam though.
Happy to help!
I think in the setup there is a spot for referral code so just enter “Lawless”
YT won’t let me post a full link …
@@themorg3300Happy to help. Just put LAWLESS in the referral code when you setup your account. Apparently you can’t post links here.
@@themorg3300 I also need referral code
Another rip off device, just like Madvr and Trinnov...
Not to me and many others, but thanks for sharing your opinion.
