  • In this tutorial I will show how to knit a circle by creating pie shape segments in partial knitting. This can be done on a larger scale by casting on additional stitches.

    I'm glad to have found your channel. I was given a nice 25 yr old KnitKing bulky. I love it! It came with a boxload of books -all way above my head- and nothing about basic carriage functions and beginning techniques, so your videos are a great help to me!

    Love this approach to making a circle. I wonder if this would work the the top of a knitted sock cap, instead of doing the shaped crown method? Or, would it give a flat top? Either way, might look interesting. Thanks for sharing your expertise.

      Olá Deize, obrigado pelo seu adorável comentário, é muito apreciado. Se você gostaria de ver imagens de projetos que eu criei, você pode ir em tricô na página do gancho no Facebook. Comecei meu canal no TH-cam para ajudar outras pessoas que estavam com dificuldades como eu quando tentava aprender, então, para responder à sua pergunta, não pertenço a um grupo, mas sinto que pertenço quando espectadores como você aprendem com meus tutoriais e por favor me avise. Obrigado por assistir! 😊 Eu não falo português, então espero que o Google translate tenha sido satisfatório para me comunicar com você...😄

    If I wanted to make the circle bigger would I just increase the cast on by 3 and keep the pattern of row 2 and 3?

    • @knittingonthehook
      @knittingonthehook  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello, yes if you increase the amount of stitches you will create a larger circle. If you maintain the short row pattern of three you will have to add two rows and this should create the same angle pie shape but larger. 😊

    So, if we want a bigger circle can we just add onto the pattern by three's?

    • @knittingonthehook
      @knittingonthehook  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello again, yes you certainly can increase the size by three or more if you want an even larger circle. 😊

    in your opinion may i use it as a joke for a sweater?

    • @knittingonthehook
      @knittingonthehook  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Lory, you can use it how ever you wish 😄 If you leave the center open and only seam the edges you can turn it into a poncho! 😊

    Why do you undo ndl 1?

    • @knittingonthehook
      @knittingonthehook  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hello Andy! Couple of reasons why I unravel the first stitch. First; unraveling the first stitch creates a selvedge stitch similar to a crochet chain and when threading the yarn through the stitches with the tapestry needle it's easier to pull the stitches towards the center. Second; the unraveled stitches are less bulky so it makes a nicer finished center. 😊
