- Gary Potter isn't that evil... Apart from this at most you can refuse to give NPC's quest items or extort them for money which is more greedy than evil

I'm kinda dissatisfied most of the evil choices are at best morally grey or in some position that they were done with good intentions
So if you take the option for it to be your own power what does it give you? It doesn't seem like we get stronger from doing it.

I got the feeling they were doing a whole lot of setup for potential sequels… like they laid the ground work in this game, but perhaps the payoffs won’t come until a sequel game in like another 2-5 years. Long time to wait for these decisionsto payoff but perhaps it’s in the works. 🤷🏻♀️
If sequels or dlc doesn’t follow through, then I totally agree; it is dissatisfying.
i choose “i want the power for myself” and got that evil ending. 5 minutes later : nothing happen, no upgrades,no power buff

I don’t know if they were scared, so much as I think they made the wrong judgment call in how to handle dark magic and evil choices in the game without a morality system. Setting up a dynamic morality system was probably more than they could handle so they simplified.
They wanted to have the dark spells there to play with and wanted people to be free to use it so got rid of the consequences of using dark magic. There is little if any fallout for the MC to use them. That was their solution to letting people use dark spells and making mean or evil choices.
But that decision really falls flat because there are no in game repercussions for those decisions. You can literally kill people in front of the likes of Fig or Poppy, and you can still complete their quests as if you’re a sterling Hogwarts student.
What they needed was some kind of morality system so your evil decisions do have some kind of repercussions.
Then use the dark arts arena as the place where you can freely use the spells without repercussions.
If going evil had direct results on the outcome the game, I think more people would be more satisfied. Hopefully they’ll rectify this in any sequels.

I wish they had a morality system in this game. There's a lot of good opportunities for good/evil choices in Hogwarts Legacy, but none of the "evil" decisions don't have any consequences.
Yeah maybe something like a infamous / watchdogs morality system would have been cool
They should have added a system like in Knights of the Old Republic where if you do enough evil it affects your physical appearance as well.
I wish they added different story ending for Sebastian's questline like a good and bad ending where he ends up not going to the dark magic route and saves his sister or something like he doesnt do dark magic but his sister dies or you do dark magic and she lives but you get this ending something like that.
You can sell him for killing his uncle instead and you will see him in azkaban in a shortcut
At the end of his quest line you can turn him in
I sorta wish you gained something in the end if you choose to use the power instead of contain it

Yup there’s essentially no point in going evil except getting those 3 extra spells
Very unsatisfied with the endings and “bad” or good choices. Outside of come conversation you essentially get the same thing. Outside of the main storyline and what you do with the ancient magic. The side missions have a better storyline than the actual main one. The game is incredible but a very lackluster choice system and endings. I thought learning/using the unforgivable curses gave you a specific ending but none of that matters. There’s 4 questions that “change” the ending
Yep, just like Mass effect 3 -they f***ked it up at the end. It doesnt matter what path you choose - the result is the same. You can be the biggest bastard and take all the evil choices and still you be the hero... Its like they run out of time (probably pushed by the publisher) and did the ending on the hurry.

Voldemort levels of evil: uses crucio instead of avada kedavra and turns Sebastian in after learning all the unforgivables from him (and choosing the use unforgivable on X option every time)
Umbridge levels of evil:
All of the above and downloading a mod that allows you to use avada kedavra on anyone

damn, your character is even dressed like a villain, makes these cutscenes look even more epic, like we're about to fight this final boss who just got a hold of the forbidden magic the heroes have been trying to keep from him

I am disappointed that you can't use the power if you choose to absorb it, it is just a choice, it doesn't make a difference other than changing the ending a bit, it is underwhelming imo

Other bad choices could be eg: not giving Zenobia her gobstones or not giving people their family heirloom or an outfit/gift a student wants back but instead u keep it for ya self

The game was great and the main story was like standard good up until the end.... I get wanting an epic battle against an evil dragon but would've been better if the fight continued after to fight Ranrok himself as a dark wizard like Rookwood. That was a great fight. Also if you go evil you're found guilty of forbidden curses or something and thrown in Azkaban. Would make sense canonically kinda. I also thought headmaster black would've become more serious and mournful about Fig in his speech but no they kept him goofy...

I haven't burned up the painting (yet), but I did put Ferdinand Octavius Pratt in the Hog’s Head Inn. If you go into the library after doing that, Pratt is complaining about where you put his frame. Rather funny.
The only definitively evil but was burning the painting.

Yeah it's really good would've liked a bit more choice and consequence. Then companions that actually follow you around Mass Effect style but it's a good start hopefully they improve for a sequel.
literslly the same ending no matter if you're good or evil lol. not pleased with this games story.
only slight changes between the good and bad ending but the bad ending even though there 2 choices (to keep the power to your self or share it with the world) the ending never changed i chose to open it and share due to one of professor figs own words at the start of the game ( but magic is no different then any power. what really matters is the one who welds it)
I think devs wants "The Fable" way for year 6 of the next game: "Oh sh** something bad is coming, time to use powers u just found!", (with extra: "wat, u did not grab it? Go and grab it, then!"

Spoiler. I chose the good path and didn't keep the power for myself. Then professor fig died and hogwarts had a funeral for him. Is choosing the good path the only way for this to happen or does it also happen when you choose to keep the power.

sadly, professor fig still dies in both cases. there is no way to save fig. i still wonder if he died because of excess magic used or he was just too old. although, i don't think 2nd one is the case since he was fighting alongside us all this time.
