I'm not going to get into details, but I will say that as of 6 months ago, when I got in trouble with the cops for HIS behavior, he's been trying to be better. But this scene struck a chord with me in a way that no movie ever will, because it looks so much like things my own home life would be.

I think if he knew the circumstances he was coming back to he would have given his life to save his fellow marine in a heartbeat. The thought of his family, his wife and kids needing him, is what kept him going but upon return, he felt replaced and like an unwanted burden. I couldn’t imagine that pain.
You're on point, this scene was way too accurate to the mindset of constantly being let down after struggling with your mortality, horrific shit you've done and seen, sensitive but desensitised, feeling like you should have emotions, acting out those feelings but still being numb to them while they're happening. The way Tobey's character keeps losing it and freezing is beyond accurate to severe PTSD + extreme unfairness and cruelty. It gives you a unique perspective

As someone who has lived with a family member with PTSD, I can tell you that Toby absolutely nailed it. This scene actually brings back some hard memories.

The line “Im drowning Tommy” hits so hard after seeing the full movie. Sam once saved Tommy’s life after he fell into a lake. Sam saved his life, and now he’s pleading with his brother to save his. Tobeys performance in this movie is so great because he manages to say so much despite such simple lines. He’s literally saying “Please save me” without saying any of those words.
I actually personally think, him in the kitchen grabbing the fridge and trying to pull the whole thing out but the door comes off way too easily is the most realistic full psycho mental break down moment

I can only imagine the misery and pain this family is feeling. Sam is feeling a great pain based what he did and how he feels betrayed, but Grace is carrying a similar burden. She loves Sam but is afraid and terrified of him. Grace can’t fall in love with Tommy, but she trusts him. She feels safe and secured with him. Appreciates what Tommy does for her girls. That’s an internal battle that greatly challenges your integrity. Grace has a strong moral code where she stayed faithful to Sam despite the kiss she had with Tommy. Tommy became strong at the end where he finally became the brother that Sam needed.
He's good, damn good. I liked his acting in Spider-Man. I think he was going for that somewhat campy feel for his portrayal cause he was playing Spider-Man's soap opera not an MCU action movie.

I felt so bad for Sam this whole film. Traumatised, betrayed, cast aside by his daughters, despite all he did to get back to them.

His daughters are drowning too. Children are so much more emotionally reliant on their parents then people truly realize . They clearly felt abandoned, hurt, unloved. And the script and outburst of the daughter showed that grief . Children should never be blamed for reacting on the choices their parents made. Big emotions. Little bodies . It's all a sad story , especially for the children .

The line “Im drowning Tommy” hits so hard after seeing the full movie. Sam once saved Tommy’s life after he fell into a lake. Sam saved his life, and now he’s pleading with his brother to save his. Tobeys performance in this movie is so great because he manages to say so much despite such simple lines. He’s literally saying “Please save me” without saying any of those words.
I actually personally think, him in the kitchen grabbing the fridge and trying to pull the whole thing out but the door comes off way too easily is the most realistic full psycho mental break down moment

I can only imagine the misery and pain this family is feeling. Sam is feeling a great pain based what he did and how he feels betrayed, but Grace is carrying a similar burden. She loves Sam but is afraid and terrified of him. Grace can’t fall in love with Tommy, but she trusts him. She feels safe and secured with him. Appreciates what Tommy does for her girls. That’s an internal battle that greatly challenges your integrity.
Grace has a strong moral code where she stayed faithful to Sam despite the kiss she had with Tommy. Tommy became strong at the end where he finally became the brother that Sam needed.
Besides the Spiderman trilogy, I feel Toby's acting is often underrated and not as known by a lot of people.
