lol I was looking to this vid for some help and you solved one of my other big issues on this little box; applying effects to multiple samples! I read somewhere that you couldn't and was trying to resample with the effects. Ohhhh the wonders of this machine.

the only way to resample a pattern is to record to a audio software then. use the software that came with 404sx. to put it on a pad or bank you choose then you add affects to it change up the original pattern. That's how it's done very old school and primitive. But it can be sick if you master a sp series. A good ear and patience will get you far with a 404sx.
I have a drum loop and 4 small guitar samples on different pads. How come when i resample, I have the drum loop going on loop so it stays there, my drum loop just stops in the middle of resampling?
theres a polyphony limit when resampling if u make the samples monoo u can play 4 at once and if there stereo its 2 also resampling into mono helps but u can do it in stages so ur only pressing 2 pads at once and then resample again to add ur other loops sp forums is great for these questions
I just bought this and i'm having issues trying to record. Every time i hit the Record button, the Ext Source button lights up as well and this is preventing any sound from coming out when i hit the keys. In this video, i don't see the Ext source lighting up at all. I restored it, but that didn't fix it. :(
i cant figure out how to get the ext light off... is it trying to record an ext source to the sample instead of my buttons? ahhhHhh pls help im so new at this
Kurby: I'm not sure if I understand your question, but u are probably running out of polyphony. The 404 can only play 4 samples at the same time, 2 if they are stereo samples
+astromass I know this is an old post so something might have changed, but the roland website says "Maximum Polyphony: 12 voices". Doesn't that mean you can play 12 monosamples at the same time (or 6 stereo samples)?

Hey dude. Thanks for the comment. The little boss box is a metronome. They can come in handy when resampling.

Quantizing beats: you CAN quantize beats in pattern mode. This is resampling. Sometimes quantizing is a bad thing, right? :)

+TheHotFalafel This is a plyphony issue. if you record your samples in mono this will give you more polyphony.
How do you record samples in mono
easy, right before you hit record, there's a stereo light that's lit. Press it to turn it off then you record in mono. Same goes for resampling
