I'm 70 now and I'd probably go in the Guinness Book of Records for one of the longest affairs ever, but even if I walked away today I'd miss him like hell and I wouldn't want another relationship. We both agree that we met the right person under the wrong circumstances. Strangely we'd discovered that we'd crossed paths many times when he was single. He has his friends, home, finances and social life all entwined where he lives, so I can understand why he won't walk away. He doesn't hate his wife. He says it's just a business transaction and he has no emotions or love for her and he pretty much does his own thing spending as little time at home as he can get away with. If I had my time again, I would have walked away after the first time we went out for a meal. His life is as it has always been, and not changed a jot, whereas mine has been ruined with time I can never get back - all self inflicted! Warning for others. Never have an affair, never!
