I've seen passing a kidney stone paralyze a person with pain. I can only imagine what those bladder stones feel like. Poor thing. You did such a good job being gentle and listening to her.

I wish we had people like you to help where we are. My piggy has a stone 1cm from opening in her urethra. Vets can’t do it here they have to send xray to specialist! Still waiting for outcome. I reckon they will have to operate & push it back into bladder. We have to travel to get it done & for treatment. I just wish they could try this method first before putting piggies under. Xx

my question is, are those domesticated wild animals? who torture them in this manner in the wild? could removing them from their natural environment cause all those issues? and if so, maybe domestication should be discouraged?

How do you know she has a stone? I have a male he was laid on his side bunged up with poo I cleared him his front paws where swollen I took him to the vet he said he had dermatitis give him antibiotics.he still layer on his side for weeks,I had to shift him about to stop him laying in his own pee which was making him worse.I never took him back to the vet cause he was clueless.I bathed him in Epsom salts for weeks his front paws are now ok but he doesn’t use his back legs just drags em about would a stone do that?

I’ve always wondered: Is there anything that can be put on the stone as it is coming out to break it down a bit and make it smaller? It might be an interesting experiment to take a stone you’ve removed and try some different gentle acids/bases on them to see if anything has an effect.
Dani no as the acid will affect the skin in that area. Do not try that.

Yes until they can't which is one of the major problems.
What are the symptoms to look for if they have a stone, can you feel/look for them and is it a different technique for boys and girls?
You woukd not be able to do that for a byob a stone that big in a boy would need surgery. If the stone is big enough and it's gotten that far down, you can feel it. Alison they will wince when trying to pee and kind of hunch up. Also, they're per goes everywhere because of the blockage, so most of the time they'll be wet down there
Yes you can feel them if they have left the bladder. Sometimes large stones can be detected manually in the bladder, but really by experience. Lots of things to look out for including pain on urination, not being able to urinate, blood in urine, hunching, discharge that can be sludge like and remains on the skin, etc
Is there a way... dietary etc....to prevent them from getting stones? Can they get stoned from drinking well water? Thanks in advance. 😊🐹

Yes, usually they don't look underneath and get a shock when we point it out. By showing how to thoroughly check them you can see so much more, so much earlier.

That could've been done much faster and more efficiently if it'd been done by two qualified people. That was much more traumatic for her than it needed to be.
get some tweezers and just pull it out instead of picking at her while shes in pain

Actually you can't just pull it out as it is adhered to the tissue. It would damage it. What I am looking at as opposed to your view is 40x closer.

Lol yes of course....not! If you watch the gloves were getting caught and causing a huge issue so this is why I went without. You have to be so careful with this that no tissue is injured at all.
