Eddie and Margo are a good example of how life should be, the perfect couple. I wish margo had made some more recordings. She has a beautiful voice. I have read the things thay havd done for others. Thay were a fantastic couple.
oldmoviegirl, that was absolutely delightful. I recall an interview on Canadian television that Eddie did and he spoke of an early ambition for opera that was not meant to be. I love listening to him sing. The insights on the careers of the charming couple is much appreciated.
I saw him at the Carousel Theatre of West Covina in "The Music Man" in 65 or 66. His projection vocally and physically was excellent. His voice strong like in theme to Green Acres, which he was starring in at the time.
Wow, those were 3 good songs. The more I hear, the more I'm convinced, he really was a very good singer. She was good, too, but more in the background here. And you did a great job with the editing and putting in the information. Neat, that they travelled together with an act. What an interesting life he had.
Eddie also confessed those aspirations to Luciano Pavarotti when they filmed "Yes, Giorgio" together, with the result that, at age 76, the former B'way hoofer made his operatic debut as Emperor Altoum in a six-performance run of "Turandot" during the San Francisco Opera's 1982 summer season. I've seen two reviews that briefly mention Eddie: the positive one found his relatively small voice suitable for the character of the frail old ruler, while the negative one claimed it just didn't carry.
Eddie Albert and his wife must have gotten to know many other actors and actresses through the years. I did not know she sang too. The son was musical too, do not know if the daughter has been. I will say it again, Eddie Albert became more handsome the older he became.
Looked up margo's bio. That female had a long name and it included O' Donnell. Which i don't believe. People who make up identity. 🤔 said her uncle xavier cugat who was a dancer. Wasn't part of her surname listed. 🤔
I wonder what would've needed to change for Eddie Albert to have caught on as a singer. Better advice on material? A label that knew how to sell him? Exposure with a big band in the 40s, while still a H'wood leading man? He certainly had the talent. Of course, I'm obviously sharing only what I consider to be his better recorded performances; there *were* some less interesting ones (though he only struck out completely a few times, IMO, and all on that 1966 album-- e.g. "Blowin' in the Wind").

That was fun, wish men and women still loved like that.

It pisses me off what the ancestors of the Trump generation did to this lovely couple. They want to bring America back to that ugly moment in time.
