Interesting process. I've been tie dying for several years and have had occasions where I've used the painting technique, but this adds helpful perspective to what I've already tried. I'm a little skeptical about the use of the steam iron at the end to fix the colors. Without covering the material with something to keep it from drying out, I understand the need of the urea, otherwise I don't believe it's needed, but it can't hurt. Thanks, I'll subscribe and see what else you have to offer.
Thanks for your comment! When I first started doing this some years back, I did a comparison and the colors were fixed better when heated and steamed. But also at that time I was using different fiber reactive dyes (now using Dharma Trading) and a different brand of cotton shirts (now primarily using Gildan), so sometime or another, I’ll do another comparison to see if changing all that makes a difference. This is the great thing about TH-cam, we all get to collaborate and make the processes better!! Happy tye dyeing!
Love this tutorial! Such a cool process and beautiful result!
Very nice approach to creating sharp edges with tie dye! Nicely paced, with good descriptions of each step 👌🏻
Amazing! It can be very intimidating to try something like this, thank you for the clear overview of everything you need and how to do it ♡
Thank you! I appreciate the feedback, and good luck on your own art projects. 🌈
