  • 22 January 2022. James Low offered a meeting dedicated to people interested in the practice of dzogchen in Brazil, "Using the the mirror of dharma to see how we are".
James Low has been dedicated to the study and practice of dharma since the late 1960s, when he moved to India, where he met his root teacher, Chhimed Rigdzin Rinpoche (aka C.R. Lama). He moved into his home and lived with him for years, helping his teacher translate texts from his lineage and receiving his teachings. During this period, James maintained contact with masters from different traditions of Tibetan Buddhism, and lived a precious experience of immersion in the dharma during a period of profound transformations for its practitioners. Since his return to Europe in the 1980s, he has dedicated himself to transmitting the teachings he received from C.R. Lama and to the practice of psychotherapy, having worked both in private practice and in the British public health system.

This is a vital point that no-one told us at school; thoughts come by themselves and go by themselves, they are not mine. The mirror doesn't own the reflection it shows the reflection. Our mind is the hospitable space that allows the arising of the thoughts and the vanishing of the thought

So when you see that these mental events like happiness, sadness, regret and so on are just movements of the energy of the mind which are there, like and illusion and yet not there like an illusion. Then we start to see what meditation is for, it's not trying to make us a better person or to improve or change anything but rather to let us simply see what is there to be seen, rather than imagining what we see

Coming again, over again, again and again, back to myself, it's where I often end up ,no always end up, after or in between now and then
