    High Perfomance Academy - there is hardly anything I could suggest to improve on your videos but if you had to add more footage of the car - skids... and push videos to 10 minutes you'd be unstoppable ---- respect either way. I could binge watch this

    All those parts are so great combined together..and expensive, awesome modifications,only the injection must hard to tune…..it proves that there's no need to use 16 cyls and 4 turbos to get all of this power, this engine must be so brutal....long live four cylinders!!

  • @buzzedo1
    @buzzedo1 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Grest vid and super impressive car. Can you explain a little the strategy for lag management? 2.2l...big arse turbo...do they use nitrous to spool it or mess with cam overlap etc?

    • @jjsorenavki7005
      @jjsorenavki7005 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Lag is on an off the throttle a Boost threshold is what you mean?
      Like how long into the rpm is the boost actually making progress? id say since its a billet block it no doubt revs to somewhere in the 10,000rpm range, an a 7675+ turbo on a 2.0L would be spooling around 5700-5900rpm an full boost in the 6700rpm Mark but on a Built 2.0L normally revs to 9500rpm on a Stock alloy block Billet again would go into the 10s-11s for a drag motor so your probly making peak power mid to high 7000s so a 3000rpm Power band with a 2.2L id probly say this is 10000-10500rpm so it no doubt has more torque an would probly spool 500-800rpm sooner then a 2.0L an have somewhere around a 3500-4000rpm power band id say it probly has a 75-100shot of nos for spooling it up,
      English racing uses the next size down turbo on a 2.0L
      an There is a 2.0L at another shop in NSW using a 7675
      This is an insane car though especially for australia an its a dyno that equals a Mustang dyno with wheelspin it very well could be in the 1350-1400whp mark
      Mean while i'm just sitting at 630whp in my 8 800whp+ is un usable with a manual on streets here i don't have 20k+ for a seqbox :(

    • @jjsorenavki7005
      @jjsorenavki7005 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Believe it or not this also doesn't have a straight pipe it actually has a 3.5inch Cat back sold here in australia which is insane to think they could make this kind of power with out restricting it

    562 horsepower per liter of displacement.... Holy shit!!!! That's around 38 hp per liter less than a modern F1 V6.
    And I'm quite sure that's more than the old F1 V8's. Damn impressive

      Mick Motorsport Tuned an evo 9 built by Precision Automotive Many years ago that ran 900whp an 8.8 @ 165mph manual full weight for 3 years no problems on a 4g64 2.4L without billet block it then had a turbo change up an went 1095whp ran for 2+ yrs the motor didn't give up it got turned into a Drag car for the 7 second bounty
      Mick also tuned a 950whp Evo 2 that sat for 8 yrs an ran fine with no engine work changed just new fluids an oils :)
      This is a street car Mick isn't the kind of person to do a 4th gear pull on the street it will no doubt be driven normally an with a seqbox it will last a long long time, :)

    • @jjsorenavki7005
      @jjsorenavki7005 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Wouldn't say this Pac performance have a few 13b an 20b cars with 1000hp that are still running 3-4 yrs after being built.. the amount of maintence required for a Rotary is more i held 800whp in my 20b fd s8 for 3 yrs no problems serviced at Pac , an 600whp for the 13b i had in a previous fd s6 Rotary are not about having 1000whp+ though Rotary powered vehicles are 150-200kg less then an evo factory wise different wheel base an a rx7 can still corner well with 600whp an stock aero as for an evo kind of needs a few things done to keep it corner happy but when you put 600whp in a Old gen rx2/3 you have a high 8 second car, as for an evo 1-3 needs 750whp+ id rather see 500-800whp cars then 1000whp+ as cool as it is

    The dry sump oil pump and reservoir was probably the best modification they could've made to that engine. I had a 92 Colt with a built 6-bolt 4g63t swap that I did myself (because the 4g15 is absolutely NO substitute with 92 bhp) and one of the main issues was that it would lose oil pressure sometimes during acceleration. Granted, the car barely weighed 2000 lbs and ran a Frankenstein 19c turbo and even at 20 psi it put down 526 whp through an F5M33 AWD Eclipse trans with a spool and the rear locked out, but it was a hatch and was wickedly fast even off boost. I miss the Mitsu life sometimes, but then I remember the headaches because I didn't have a crazy budget. I have a Civic with a self-built built LSVTEC engine that makes 508 whp, so it keeps me entertained. I have alot of respect for the Mitsu crowd.

    • @eaglefat9398
      @eaglefat9398 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      dry sump is ideal but expensive, a accusump is just as effective and simple and cheap. Its just a simple pressurized oil tank that squirts in oil when the pump can't keep up.

      Well if you invest into a billet block you just saved yourself a bunch of time and money pushing over the limits of the cast block. Lots of people including HPA have built high power 4Gxx engines and blown up a few in the process. So making the investment up front makes sense if your serious. If you aren't serious 500 whp is still quite fast in a compact car believe me, you don't really need 1,000 hp. For the level of competition he was entering he needs that kind of power. Just as I need 600+ hp for the competitions I enter.

      The guy who owns the car built the car at his Own shop with his employees an self tuned it so really he is just paying for parts not labour
      You can also make 1000-1200whp on Cast bottom blocks an still be quite reliable but will come down to the setup an comp of the block, Mick wanted to run things a little different, I also heard they have a 2nd billet block an want to explore the 1.8L destroked motor like Xtreme tuners in the future

      Abhir Malhotra maybe but why is the "bhp" mostly used to announce the power figure by brands and why is "whp" uses here?

    • @abhirmalhotra5103
      @abhirmalhotra5103 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Alejandro Aznar cause normal peoole care about bhp which is measured at the crank. Some manufacturers measure at the flywheel.
      Racers care about what the car puts to the road. Therefore , WHP.

      No no a lot of people in the Uk think when a car is on the Roller dyno it is still BHP when its actually Whp, Engine dyno is the motor out of the car in a engine dyno room like how F1 have tested their motors for 25+ yrs it still triggers me when i watch a Uk video an someone says its 600bhp when its clearly 600whp+ Ugh

    • @alejandroaznar3818
      @alejandroaznar3818 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thx for the answers, i assume though that the whp figure is smaller than the bhp, due to losses when transmitting that bhp to the ground

    You have a billet block based on a 4G64, you have aftermarket rods and pistons, and quite possibly an aftermarket crank so what exactly makes this a 4G63 powered?

    • @hpa101
      @hpa101  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What would you call it? As soon as you modify a car in any way shape or form you can argue that has become something different ;) - Taz.

    • @DodgyBrothersEngineering
      @DodgyBrothersEngineering 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well if the billet block is based on a 4G64 block design, I would be inclined to call it a 4G64. The block is the heart of the engine. What would you call an SR20 with a VVTI head, I would still call it an SR20, even if it had a Tomei 2.2 stroker crank.

    • @DodgyBrothersEngineering
      @DodgyBrothersEngineering 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Although... A Keith Black is a custom engine built on a hemi design, and it is referred to as a KB, so maybe you would call it a Bullet...

    Ummmmm, yeah.... it's not like if you're pushing that amount of power and boost that you could consider the car even remotely "reliable" long-term... o.0
    Gotta pay to play, folks. You can't DD a car like that for any appreciable amount of time.

    • @hpa101
      @hpa101  6 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Reliability is a relative term and 'long-term' in the perfomance chasing world is not comparable to your family people mover.. A 1000+ HP 4 cylinder car is not built to do 100,000kms of school runs, however, the fact it can even do a solid number of runs down the strip at that sort of output and still hit the street ticks the reliability box 100% - Taz.

    • @burrowssj
      @burrowssj 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Engine wise it absolutely should be reliable with proper maintenance. I know guys pushing 500hp on stock subaru blocks with just basic forged pistons rods, and valve springs, and raping them daily /st legal for many years without issues. Comparing that to a factory car is obviously not fair, but if you build the engine right there's no reason it will fail prematurely. It's all about knowing what is required at X power level and building it to that spec. The same guy is now building a 2.35 ej207 aiming for a 500kw mark. Put down 350kw on 18psi with 1500rpm quicker spool up, on the run in tune while they finish upgrading the fuel setup. Stock MLS head gaskets too, 14mm head studs tho. I think it cost close to 20kNZD which is a fair bit. HPA should check out specialized auto services down here in Canterbury, true up and comers to the rally scene.

      because no gauges you can buy read over 3 bar.. as for an eboost2 shows psi digitally to 60psi which is 4.1 bar so this would be showing the psi through digital dash psi is much easier then bar, but if you want to know the bar of boost its 5.17
