Thanks for the drag break down there with the 60ft and how that extrapolates out to the end run. I've watched plenty of stuff, but never dived into the timing side of drag more the tech. So this was a nice little piece to add in. Thanks again!
Andre you should do a run down on ur 1st setup on docile bak in the days or just do a rundown of a basic setup an Evo would run back in the days like a throwback episode or even do a run down on docile from start to finish I rekon that would be cool
The driver is just cutting his teeth, as well as the car needed a cage and shoot added I believe to continue to race on the strip. More to come I'm sure as both driver and car grow =D - Taz.
Ahh you mean one for a FuelTech? Not yet, I would say later this year but most likely next year now we should be diving into that platform. Note a lot of these things still work in the same way, just with different software, so I wouldn't necessarily hold out for anything but rather use everything you can get your hands on now to learn 🤘 - Taz.
that was with a 2.0 60ft, if you check out team karam racing on facebook the time slip for that pass is posted, i don’t think the car has run a new time since due to being kicked out for the mph and no cage at the time
@JoeeyyBro Looks like they were getting the cage and parachute sorted just before old mate Pandemic, so I'm sure we'll see it on the track again once things settle down 😎 Woo! - Taz.
Just a slip of the tongue. I'm guessing he means they have done the same with other 4G63 builds where they ramp things up with time rather than being a time traveller 😎 You can check out some other builds and tuning work they have been involved with here: facebook.com/Karamracing.com.au/ - Taz.
We got a Sherlock Holmes over here. I'm sure you know more than the guys who built it but if you listened It was mentioned multiple times the driver is still getting use to the car.
The goal is to go as fast as possible. If you wish to not use a slipper clutch in your own setup though that is fine, no one will judge you for it =) - Taz.
I'm afraid you aren't going to convince us of that ;) We love drag race EVOs. Just remember how you enjoy cars and how other people enjoy cars is likely to be different. And that is ok.
@@hpa101 Yup, different strokes for different blokes. Not my thing, either, but the engineering behind builds like this is cool, and can often be adapted for other motorsports. For example, transmissions that can take the abuse of clutch drops on high grip drag strips will almost certainly stand up to anything a circuit car can hand out! Head sealing methods that can hold 80PSI of boost will be almost bullet proof with a 'mere' 50! Connecting rods and pistons that live at 12k rpm will have a 20% safety factor at a 'mere' 10k. There is an old expression "racing improves the breed".
Interviewer has so much knowledge. I wish I could have it all.
I LOVE how some of the guys try to hide their technique but he knows perfectly well an calls them out directly on the mic to spit it.
Nice feature guys I like to see the non rwd stuff to see how people get around it's challenges
Man, I just love Andre interviewing people, he's so smooth on point with his questions and comments🙏🙏🙏
Andre everytime i see you in an interview your knowledge seems close to endless. You can feel that you really live that stuff. Greetings from Germany.
That car could almost convert me from Subaru. Insane build, great content

All round top bloke. Great interview, could of listened to you guys for ages 👌🇬🇧
Love EVO's, Great evo from Team Karam!, has all the technology, bells and whistles!
Super clean build, fab looks awesome.
I like the indept of this. Definitely starts making me think a about this in other forms of racing
Good info 😎 thanks for the coverage
Glad you enjoyed it mate - Taz.

Where can we find more info on this car and the team involved?
I think this is probably the best place: facebook.com/Karamracing.com.au/ - Taz.
Thought that would be into the 9’s for sure
The driver is just cutting his teeth, as well as the car needed a cage and shoot added I believe to continue to race on the strip. More to come I'm sure as both driver and car grow =D - Taz.
What did it run on the 60 and trap times? Mph etc
Another great interview 👍🏻
Do you have or can you do a video on that standalone ecu dash setup?
Like this one? - www.hpacademy.com/previous-webinars/265-configuring-can-communications-dash-to-ecu/ - Taz.

Per usual I feel so much more informed at watching his videos.🙌🙌
U know when this all has got crazy when a 1000hp 35/84 on a 4 cylinder is considered small !
Why the engine position looks like fwd ?
Fully sick hectic spec Evo uleh
This guy seemed pissed off with the questions 😅
Beautiful setup... I'll trade you 😂
This principal looks alot like the CDV which BMW uses in there manuals
Drag racing Evo with a wing is rare.
Umm is that a record for a stock block evo, and even stock block 4g63
I don't believe so, but still impressive 😎 - Taz.
Not enough close but definitely impressive
I'm including stock rod and pistons not bare block
@@Kenuwine24 this a 2.2L so I'm going to guess it's not stock rods and pistons
That's a clean as fuck car, nice video
Only 10.50?
Yep! Driver and car both have more experience and are in the 8's now I believe - Taz.
👌 4wd 4bangers👌
With a brain like Andre, I wonder if guys see him coming and prep for an interview just in case. So they aren't caught slipping.
10.50 ? Is that right ? At 850hp
that was with a 2.0 60ft, if you check out team karam racing on facebook the time slip for that pass is posted, i don’t think the car has run a new time since due to being kicked out for the mph and no cage at the time

Fuckin gorgeous build also.
I clicked thinking stock Evo block lol got rapped
As in stock internals
A 6G will help you slip the tires a little vs a 4G
Are u guys hiring a water boy? Ill work for free just take me everywhere you go i love this scientific shit
5:09 "we've pushed others in the future you know well over 1000hp"..... so it hasn't happened yet???

I did enjoy this video, so I liked it. But I was already subscribed so I couldn’t subscribe again
We'll let you away with it this time 😂Cheers for the support mate! We also have a 24/7 stream now too: bit.ly/247SUB - Taz.
10.5 is slow for 150mph. He should be in the 9s
No jdm bumper? Wack
That should be running low 9's. That clutch slip is slowing you down IMO
We got a Sherlock Holmes over here. I'm sure you know more than the guys who built it but if you listened It was mentioned multiple times the driver is still getting use to the car.
The clutch only launches, sequential takes the rest, still think its slowing them down?
Man up and manually slip the damn clutch!
The goal is to go as fast as possible. If you wish to not use a slipper clutch in your own setup though that is fine, no one will judge you for it =) - Taz.
High Performance Academy I was just being a wise ass 😜. I’m sure it’s way harder to have a consistent 60’ at those power levels
First?
Drag racing an Evo is a complete waste of a great car.
I'm afraid you aren't going to convince us of that ;) We love drag race EVOs. Just remember how you enjoy cars and how other people enjoy cars is likely to be different. And that is ok.

You wouldn't have good entertainment or know the car/product limitations if it weren't for the guys that drag them
