Actually that chime is for NHK to broadcast on all channels for emergency purposes, not only for seismic intensities, when emperor showa passed away they used it too

I love this video a lot! As an oregonian and an oceanography student I like seeing scenarios based on what will inevitably happen along the Juan de Fuca fault. If you want, I have a few things that can help with accuracy next time! It isn't intended to be critical or rude at all, I just like the speculation aspect of these videos and have my own ideas about how this event would be portrayed :)
Firstly I think that if this hypothetical quake was as strong as the 2011 one, I think it would only affect BC, WA, and OR from a shaking standpoint. I think small tremors would reach other states and be mostly detectable by devices, but the beauty of speculating about this situation is that nobody really knows! Things like this haven't been recorded in our history yet. And I think that using counties instead of states to represent the intensities and Tsunami warning areas would be used in this scenario to give residents a better and more accurate idea of how they'll be affected (the states are very large, and someone on the coast will witness higher intensity than someone inland). Alternately just drawing on stripes around the epicenter with state/county boundaries is a good, simple idea. Japan is smaller than the US so I imagine if Japan was their size, they might do things differently and make it easier to understand. Since conditions are so different between the countries, I encourage you to take creative liberties portraying the scenario because what you see in Japan alerts isn't set in stone and immune to having small changes when you add a massive country to the equation. Again, stellar work and always let me know if you could use any of my knowledge!

Hello! Some advice for a remaster, I live in Yamagata in Japan so I know this. I recommend keeping the same tone from the original (the earthquake tone) to make it more realistic, if a shindo 7 occurs, a major tsunami warning is extremely likely and has occurred before (its a purple outline) also, tsunami may hit non affected areas (just like 11/3/11) also, include the heights of the tsunami for an extra detailed scenario!
