Thermal Printers are only supposed to be used for printing info that can be discarded over time, like store receipts. It should not be used for important documents as the ink will fade away over time.

The whole thermal paper is coated with black ink, then it got coated with white ink. Now the laser will heat the certain parts of paper, then white ink will vaporize, thus revealing the black ink behind it.
I found a bunch of bus tickets in my old wallet one day and they were blank, this is just gimmick not intended for actual office use.
If you get the paper black with heat you can see the info again but written in white

Guys, sharing other aspects:
- Cost is around 12k (3 times to regular home printers)
- With12k, it only prints Black and white, no color
- Thermal printing stays for only a few months, and then it fades away, so it's not for record keeping
- 100 Sheet Thermal paper cost 700+ INR, which means paper only cost per paper is 7+ INR

It's great as a portable option. If you need something printed ASAP in the moment for quick signatures or prints. You can scan or photo copy the print later so it doesn't fade and store for your physical records.
But in our country it's like $200 + dollars
But the cartridges run out of ink in normal printers
It doesn't fade away that fast it last for years

It requires thermal printer paper which is about 6x more expensive than normal paper. Most thermal printers don't have a tray to load the paper, or if it does it's rolled up and you have to flatten it - this product does the latter option. Still, a neat idea to get rid of ink.

This doesn't need ink....it just needs something even more difficult to get or use (thermal paper)

But this isn't a permanent solution its just temporary for extreme ungent use or use in remote location during travels in those remote places where there is scarcity of the printing services. Thermal paper printed once gets easily wipes off after keeping for extended periods .... And it uses rolls so you can't insert any other type or size of papers so not so very smooth edges of paper as its just like the bills you get when your states Electricity Department....

The principle is similar to thermal fax machine in the early 90s, fax machines using roll of thermal paper.

Have to buy thermal paper which costs ₹7/Sheet life of print 10 Years they claim
₹5/Sheet life few months like atm bills
Roll paper you need to cut manually where in creases can be seen and paper gets rolled up after printing which doesn’t look like a professional option
Rather you can take flat A4 sheets that should solve the problem!
Depending on your work you can use it as primary or backup printer!
No ink. But special paper that probably costs more then just normal printer. Never leave your prints in the sun. Still wondering? Start leaving printed receipts in the sun. Thermal ones will turn dark when the sun heats it up.

The problem with these, thermal paper reacts to humidity and the print doesn’t last longer than regular ink printer. It will fades in about a couple of months.

No. Thermal printers work by activating a dye that is already soaked into thermal paper and therefore monochrome by definition.
This used to be a FAX machine before!

Thermal printers have existed for long now. They aren't new. The print fades away after some time, plus the paper isn't the same as a regular A4 paper. You can't even laminate the paper as it turns all black!
Also tell people thermal people is a toxic mess.
