Air dry clay is a good substitute to try out working with clay without spending a lot of money. It can do everything real clay can do, except pouring moulds. There's tons of air dry clay ornaments videos on TH-cam.
try looking for a studio near you! some let you rent out chunks of time for sculpting and they do all the firing for you. some do classes over the course of 3-4 weeks so you can bring home finished pieces without having to invest beyond the teacher's fee.
Do it. It's so easy and not expensive. I just made Christmas ornaments out of clay and gifted them to my friends this Christmas. I spent maybe 40 bucks on everything. First get an air-dry clay, some tools (you can figure most things out at home), a base coat and a top coat paint and some acrylics for painting. That's it! Give it a try. You're worth the time it takes to learn a new skill :)
You can definitely buy a polymer clay or air dry clay kit for pretty inexpensive just to see how you like it! I personally prefer polymer but air dry is great to start with!
I’m just amazed, that you didn’t have to Center Everything Perfectly & Didn’t give a Flip & they turned out Amazing ! 🎉 Hear, that My Inner Perfectionist ! 🙏🏼
those are the same ornaments!! the glaze makes the paints brighter after they're fired, but I'm pretty sure you can leave them unglazed the texture is just different
That’s what glaze looks like before it’s fired. Once it’s fired and cured it shows it’s true color. There are pastel glazes, she chose bold ones. The pastel glazes are almost white when you put them on and are harder to see and see the difference between.
They technically aren’t pastel, it’s just before the glaze and firing, light colors get darker in the kiln but I do agree she should make some pastel ones because I want them
You could get even more use out of these to put on a decorative Easter tree or branches! With jordan almond garlands, and easter egg ornaments, these would look GREAT alongside all that, plus the colors and floral design play in really well with Easter! So pretty!
You make these with so much adoration!! I see it in how your work turns out.❤ I love how much love you put into your clay work pieces ❤️ blessings to you, dear artist 🙏🏽
I’m taking ceramics in my school right now, and watching these I realize how much time and effort actually goes into making these. The time it takes is a good chunk of time, so I admire the dedication!
Once you said you 3d printed the stamps I just had to go back and look at it. It’s so amazing to even be able to do that, we really are living in the future! Happy new year!
Omgosh Shelby! These are cutest! You should make a bucket of these. They would make adorable necklaces on leather strips. Dingers for bells in a windchime, unglazed on the back a drop of oil would fragrance a car hung from a mirror my mind is just going crazy with ideas and thats just this one design!!!!! ❤❤❤
The painting with rust really takes me back, I took ceramics in my senior year of high school and my favorite project was using red clay and then painting over with rust and sponging off until you’re left with the contour lines. We made ceramic eyes and I made one of my grandfathers who had just passed right before the project, and seeing someone do it a year after I had makes me smile for some reason, keep up the great work :3!
How are you so beautiful 😮 your face and eyes just feel so relaxed and safe, so comforting and kind. You’re one of the most emotionally beautiful women I’ve ever met, you’re so vibrant❤
You should try making a little hook out of some heavy duty wire. You can hook it through the hole and it might make it a little bit easier to glaze these particular pieces
What did you have 3D printed? Those are amazing they look so beautiful I love how some of the flowers are cut off at the edges it's so cool you're so creative ❤🎉❤🎉❤😮
She had those little cookie cutter looking flowers shown at the beginning of the video 3D printed. They are the things she pressed into the slab to make the flowers. It looks like they worked so great to make the impressions.
All of these are beautiful. This makes me wish I could get into pottery despite having none of the materials or tools haha.

I use airdry clay like the other comment suggested, people often think I've fired my things in a kiln lol. It's messy but the results are fun.

They are the same thing its just one is before they were fired. I liked the pastel as well i wonder if it can be acheived with the end result.

@bunnii6629 i think the clear coat she used also emphasized the colors in that way.
They are stunning! Imagine a hippie Christmas tree!!! I love it!
