As someone who works in this industry. I would just like to say that your work and attitude towards detailing is on a whole different level. Amazing to see. Congratulations on the new car.
Thank you! Always appreciate comments from people in the industry that can understand what's shown in the video but can also understand how much is happening off camera 👍 details like this are a really massive job. Hard to show that in a 40 minute video. Thanks for watching 🙂
As someone that's a qualified painter, and been doing this all my life, and can tell you everything about Detiling. The best thing without being rude. I agree with this comment. What you do is on a different level, Sometimes for better and for the detriment, usually to yourself and physiology :) I have friends like you, They are So Anal (There not even Greek) Everything has to be perfect, and untill its better than perfect, they cant relax, and due to that no one else around them dare relax :) How ever, there is one person you want with tis unhealthy condition, and that is defiantly, your detailer. This is rare, and your detailer being like this is only beneficial to the customer, and is very hard to find.
@@canoaslan1011 "there not even Greek" made me laugh. Thank you for taking the time to comment. Really appreciate comments like this but also viewers in the industry who can really see and understand the craziness that's being showed. See you in more videos soon 🙂🙂👍👍
@@canoaslan1011I’m working on getting into this industry on my own. It’s always been a hobby, but it makes me happy. Yes I’m very OCD, about my ride being clean and tight. Only use pro products. Don’t use section 8 Walmart
Nothing better than seeing an OCD detailing enthusiast/professional detailer do work on their own new daily driver. I think that's when most of us truly unleash and go absolutely ALL out because it's yours to drive and enjoy every day. And that's not taking anything away from how good your work is on your customers' cars, it's just that we always go that extra mile for own cars, IMHO.
Time to hire someone to Video and Edit your work. No reason you shouldn't have 1/4 million subs. You just need to be able to post more content. It would be worth it to try for a few months and see if you can start getting out a video every week or two.
I agree with you. But I might need to film a little different to have a editor. Or just show them the chaotic way I edit lol. Because I'd need to voiceover there edit. Unless I just kinda vlog it and they edit the story together. But a video editor is definitely possible.
I see the challenge. Having a person in charge of videoing while you work will help navigate the editing process and create the structure (story board) you're looking for. I like the longer videos but consider chopping up videos into shorter 15 minute segments, with less detailed narration, . At the end of a project you can promote the full series in a laid back podcast, while you and your team enjoy your favorite beverages, where you can dive deeper into the details. Posting more frequently is the key @@STATUSDETAIL
@@TheBCMSB right and Definitely want more frequent posts! I try to keep videos around 20-25 mins. Basically a old school TV show time minus commercials lol. This was a monster of a project though. The next time I buy a car and do a vid might be a supercar. I think that needs to be like a two part series.
Yaaaas bring someone in house and groom them. They will just do the heavy lifting on the editing. I'd watch 30 min video daily if they were available. Glad you are considering scaling at your own pace though. Love for what you do is king.
@@RealExpertsPro It's super awesome that fans like you would watch videos daily! I feel the same way about a lot of people that I watch on TH-cam as well. The future of the brand is definitely going to be on TH-cam. So some kind of content generation system needs to be put in place soon.
I completely agree with you on the paint correction stage. There’s absolutely nothing more relaxing as a detailer than having your earbuds in and polishing the paint to that 98-99% look. Also, I speak for everyone when I say we need more content from you. Congrats on the car!
Awesome to hear it's not just me lol. I lool forward to being that good at PPF. But I still need to be really focused and not relaxed lol. I'll definitely try and get some more videos out soon 👍👍
Your enthusiasm and how you communicate honestly about how you feel about everything you do is why I come to this channel. Alsof the fact you are so meticulous, Just love it!❤ keep up this amazing channel and community!
Thanks! As you can see in this video my need to do things perfectly sometimes goes to far lol. But that's part of the crazy that makes the business work and the videos fun to watch! The community that has grown around status is definitely incredible! It will be really amazing to watch grow 🤝🙂
Nothing's better than taking your time detailing your own cool car. For me, it is so satisfying to see each panel getting cleaner and corrected as you go through the car part by part. When everything is done, I would sometimes go in my garage to admire the results and my car lol. Congrats !
Oh yeah there's no telling how much time I've wasted just staring at my car once it's clean lol. It's also rather satisfying staring at a dirty car knowing that you drove it and enjoyed it. Thanks for watching!
Those wheels are BEAUTIFUL and they compliment the car very well! Best of luck with it. It’s apparent how passionate you are about your work but you have to remember to take care of yourself. As much as I love my career, sometimes I need to take a step back and reset. All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.
Lol agreed! I love what I do. And I love cars. It took 8 plus years of smashing that together to eventually push so hard for so long over a condensed period of time to realize I have a limit lol. I know what that looks like know and realize relaxing when appropriate makes me more effective and efficient when I'm working. Glad it happened so I could learn more about myself and my work flow. The wheels turned out amazing. I'm sad every day they are hidden in bags in my basement over winter lolol.
Thank you for sharing your unique knowledges. Although I've been a detailer for quite a while and have mentored some of the successful detailing shops in my country, your skills and commitment in your business always humble me. And please, do not neglect your health. cheers!
It's my pleasure! Im glad to hear the videos are entertaining but also informative! Appreciate your comment and that you are part of the channel! Im definitely extra aware of the stresses of over working and burn out now. Glad I learned from it and have become more efficient and aware of when a break is needed.
I rarely comment on videos but this was one of the most detailed and thorough examples of somebody who's absolutely mastered their craft on display for TH-cam viewers to experience. Incredible man you are a legendary detailer man. Super eager to learn and watch the content that comes from your journey. Absolutely love the rs5 as well. Super Super well done man, you have got to get an editor or some form of a video production team so all you have to worry about is the work. Amazing job man.
Thank you! What a awesome comment 🙂🙂👍👍 I d believe a content creation system will happen sooner or later. Like most business owners I want control over it all lol. Making a GTR edit right now and it takes a lot of time to get the flow and watch ability aspect right. Get the jokes timed right to make you laugh and keep watching etc. But someone out there should be able to match this edit style id hope. I don't mind filming to much. But if someone could film for me we could probably show more interesting stuff. Look forward to seeing you around the channel! If your new to the channel you have some awesome vids to catch up on. Next Curtis 1 of 2 nismo GTR in specific color in USA. And a Ferrari 488 speciale edit after that. Then lots of Porsches!
As a member of the VAG family. I love this car! Congrats. Huge fan of your channel and even more of your work! I'd love to be on the same level as you some day. Although now I'm doing bodywork instead of detailing
Thanks! Nothing technically is chrome too. It's all polished aluminum and brushed aluminum. The silver on the car is all matte. The wheels do kinda look like chrome tho. I'm not a huge blackout guy..... But I might do it on a future car lol. I said to much lol
@@STATUSDETAIL Your right! I just found and subscribed to your channel. I just appreciate your honesty on application of ceramic coatings (ie Gyeon Syncro). I am NO professional, not by any stretch of the imagination, yet I “go to my happy” place when detailing my vehicles. There is just something about the smell of all the chemicals, polishing, waxing, pressure washing and the end results. Great video!
Thanks for watching and I'm so glad you found the channel! Lots of videos you might enjoy! And some really incredible videos in the works. See you around the channel 🙂👍
You could have spread this out to a twenty to thirty part video series, and I'm willing to bet almost all of your subscribers including myself would happily watch and enjoy every single minute of it.
I think we will see a part two at least! I just don't know when. Late this year or early next year perhaps? So many great vids awaiting editing and need to be created!
The way you describe how you feel while paint correcting is a good description of what it means to truly master something. Most people never achieve anything like this because they don't have commitment to anything. Its your calling ❤️ And you're the best there is 🙌🏼🙏🏼
Evan I love your videos. Watching them is a zen like experience for us. Detailing is a hobby for me now but those that know me well understand how that obsession for perfection can take over. I had wondered why the releases of the videos slowed to a drip but this makes perfect sense. Happy to see the success for you. Burn out is real, you and your loved ones are more important than constant video releases. Can't wait to see the next releases when time permits.
I like your leather protection and cleaning process. I’m already a fan of Leatherique, but will now follow-up with your Gyeon leather products as well. Thanks!
Looking for options & opinions for keeping a interior clean plus protected that is used to shuttle people back and forth to the beach so has legs covered in sunblock on them?
That's a tough life for a seat! I'd use a lot of gtechniq leather guard and reapply often. Clean often with gyeon leather mild and a Gyeon brush. Maintenance will be your friend. Meaning cleaning often is better than ceramic once and never cleaning. Maintenance plus ceramic is ideal.
This guys passion for his own car is incredible. The attention to detail is amazing. I’m hoping to get myself an Audi S5 at some point this year and this video is getting me excited to detail it and make it my own!
Thank you! Not sure what gen s5 your looking at. The last few gens have been very good! The b8.5 is a great platform. B9 is a definite improvement. B9.5 updated screens are fantastic.
Yep, get a more recent B9.5 (2020+); there are many improvements that make it worth it. Some, in case of the RS5, include engine internal fixes to improve longevity. Btw, I have one of these Ascari RS5’s as well - amazing car. Get a 2021+ RS5 Sportback if you can, as it’s quite an all around near supercar. I traded my 2021 S5 convertible for the RS5 (I made the mistake of driving one and fell in love) - the S5 was a beautiful car as well (interior basically the same) and had decent performance stock but can be modded for more if you want. If you go the S5 route, try to find one with the Prestige pkg, as it comes with amazing laser lights and other goodies you can’t get on the lesser packages.
@@petejr7583 can confiy. Laser lights on my car must b stolen alien technology. With high beams in the country roads it's basically day time again lol. 22:25 as an audi tech, the a5 series cars have the worst cabin filter placement. like almost all the others are the exact same but for some reason its recessed in the a5s and way more annoying. dont know why the did that on these. also a tip, assuming you have cpo coverage. right before the end of cpo bring it in to a dealership and say you had a coolant low warning. these V6s have a common issue where the water pump fails and leaks internally and coolant spreads through all the vacuum lines. its a 6-7k repair if out of warranty. beatiful car nonetheless.
That's interesting on the filter lol. Also interesting on the water pump leak! I need to double check with my warranty runs out and like a year. Just have factory warranty for now.
@STATUSDETAIL yea, I've seen it happen as early as 20k miles and I actually have an SQ5 currently in my bay with coolant migration at 70k. they all get it it's just a guessing game of when. there is an extended warranty company called audi vsc platinum I think and they're actually pretty good about covering stuff from what I've seen, so if it doesn't happen by the end of warranty they'll be worth a look. not trying to scare you about it but it's not really something that's avoidable. better to know than not lol.
I just finished an 18 month project along the same lines. After work, weekends, I couldn't even guess at the number of hours but know it's well over 1000. What started with a valve cover gasket replacement led to the complete rebuild of the top end of the motor. Almost blueprinted. Everything OEM: Seals, gaskets, any rubber vacuum line replaced with silicone, new plugs, cable management, etc. New alternator, PS pump, radiator, water pump, all belts, rebuilt throttle body, and on and and on. Once the motor was done, I went to close the hood and noticed some leaves in the recess where the hood arms go. Turns out the windshield drains down the inside of the fender and that was basically full of mulch. That led me on a rust-prevention campaign, which eventually got me into the interior when I found the sunroof tray was leaking because the drain tubes were petrified with a kink in them, so completely blocked. Once on the interior I went about fixing all the things I knew needed fixing. All bulbs went to LED, sunroof drive belt replaced (and the drain tubes), new speakers, new wiring, added a Zapco small Class D monoblock just in case I wanted to run a sub later down the road. Even added a backup camera. I took the interior down to the paint. Seats out, disassembled, skins shampooed, etc. All plastic moldings taken out, scrubbed, cleaned. All carpet up, all butyl removed. Even took the dash out. Twice (FML). Dynamat the whole thing and rebuild. So the kicker is... this was all done on a 1990 4runner with 260k miles. The motor was actually a warranty replacement due to a manufacturing issue where the oil ports were too small and it starved the block with not enough circulation. A few of them just got leftover crate motors instead of a rebuild. So... a 260k 4runner with 80k on the motor. I'm the second owner. But I bought it off a high school friend of my parents. I was on the camping trip back in summer when he showed up with it for the first time and I remember thinking how cool it was. I think that, gaining mechanical experience with the vehicle, and a reason to not sit in front of the computer working all day played equal parts in the inspiration to keep at it. I don't regret the time spent, I'd do things a bit differently a second time. But if anyone asked me 'How much?' for a job like that, I would just laugh and sigh.
Lol love it! That would be the "unlisted detail". The open checkbook it is what it is. Sounds like it was overall a relaxing fun experience for you. Very rewarding to finish a project like that.
Hey Evan, love the channel n everything you do for the community keep it up man 🤙🏽 also please bring the RS5 back on the channel and give us an update, it’s a beauty 😍
Thanks and thanks for watching! I'm not sure when but it is highly likely the RS5 will return to the channel for like a part two video I bought an X5M competition recently as well. But I have no shortage of content and video ideas!

I really appreciated the video. I almost pulled the trigger on an Ascari but went with a Navarra Blue Metallic. Same as you purchased unseen out of state. Its on its way, i wont see it for 2 weeks, anxiety is building and I plan to go through the car like you did.
On the rs5 it's like a back lit button. So it really should not wear. On cars that do have this issue you can't do much. Don't scrub hard when cleaning. Be very gentle. It really should not get that dirty. Avoid hatch chemicals. No apc.
I get asked this a lot. Unfortunately there is no way I can recommend people to shops. My only suggestion is visit ones your considering and look at finished cars. If your happy then give them your car.
I've been searching for a nice set of wheels for my M4 F82, but I can't find one which would fit the need nicely. I tried to find other persons who have already bought those wheels but the colour of the car wasn't the same as mine so I couldn't imagine how they would fit my car. How did you choose these wheels?
Just jumped on the Forge Light website and looked at what they had. This was my favorite. They have a new design that's similar to this now. It's probably what I'll do on a future car. Also available in magnesium! They can also render your car with wheels in it. So you can see it! Reach out so they can help. The link is in my video description. 👍
Hey from England! Im new to your channel and so glad Ive found you, this video is awesome. My wife thinks Im OCD, but you take it to another level! Can I echo some of the other comments and suggest that you get someone to video and edit your work so we can have some more content? Thanks for being honest, I like that!
Yes! But go light on the application and do multiple thinner coats. So put a little in your hands and work it in. Do not poor it onto perforated seats.
I remember when this car was listed as I live 12 miles from Fort Washington. Funny enough I bought my bimmer from BMW of Fort Washington. You have the OCD I have and watching it play out in detailing makes me feel better. I'm currently repainting my car to get it ready for PPF. I was told I was nuts but this gives me hope haha.
@@f32_boost52 it's interesting I was looking at another Ascari car and a follower actually bought that one lol. Funny how the car community is close on TH-cam!
@STATUSDETAIL we all have the same OCD that has us chasing the dragon. My car is being painted as I type this and I'm so OCD that it will trailered out to my garage to cure and then trailered to my detailed for correction and PPF. It would have been awesome to see you were talking about at the end of the video about doing a transformative video.
I try to keep my car as clean and as factory matte as possible by wearing driving gloves, having microfiber for everything and I even PPF buttons/switches and levers I touch the most. What do you recommend to protect the seat bolsters from cracking? I trued every method getting in and out but I am seeing creases form.
Best method is to get in the car in a way that doesn't have you rubbing that spot. Especially on the GT3 Porsches I put a foot in. A hand in door sill. And then basically move my body over the seat and sit. Gtechniq leather gaurd is helpful. Keeping it Clean and using leatherique to keep it hydrated is helpful. But ultimately if you just rub that spot a crazy amount several times a day it's going to be difficult
Thanks! Been using it for years and on my own cars. I my s6 I've had for 6 years has no issues and white leather. My s4 I had 8 years and sold for rs5. S4 has no issues 👍👍
Love to hear that!! Been trying to edit the videos in a specific way to make it so they are very watchable. So I love hearing stuff like this it makes me know I'm on the right track when I edit!
Thank you! Spent a lot of time deciding on the wheel specs. I think the car could be lowered slightly to enhance the look. But nothing rubs currently. So it's nice it can be driven hard too.
when I'm polishing, I disappear into another dimension where every scratch and swirl comes out with one compound and my polisher is completely silent 😅😅 I love your car. looks so good
Nice car. I just ordered a SQ8 in ASCARI blue! Great to see it in person. I had a McLaren 650s with a alcantera steering wheel. Never ever again. They are horrible. Within 12k miles it gets worn, matted down. I made sure that my Audi has their nice leather golf ball wheel
Sweet! I'm planning on a SQ7 soon 😃 Yes the perforated golf ball style leather steering wheel is awesome. Grab a Gyeon leather brush from my store with gyeon leather cleaner. The divots in wheel will want to build up with dirt. The brush does a good toothbrush style effect to clean it out. Your going to love the color. It's very different In shade or cloudy day vs full sun. I love it !! Alcantara isn't terrible if you keep up with maintenance. But if you never clean or maintenance it then it will get matted and smashed and look pretty awful. Never have lotion or anything before you drive! Lol Leather is much easier to care for.
I bought a 2020 Audi S4 which has 99% the same interior as yours, with 20k miles, and would like to do about the same as you did in the interior. I have Gyeon interior detailer right now. Can I use this instead of prep? I was thinking of doing gyeon leather cleaner with their brush followed by Meguiars leather conditionner (because I already have it), finishing the rest with interior detailer. I'll try to rent a mat extractor to clean up the carpet. Did you find an alternative to that piano black center console part? Thanks for awesome video!
Thanks for watching! I think your mixing steps up. Gyeon leather cleaner mild is the main system to restore matte leather. Use the brush too. Advanced is following that with leatherique. I use Oreo after gyeon leather cleaner or if I go leatherique I do gyeon leather again then prep If you have gyeon interior detailer detailer that works just like prep. I'm not a fan of meguires leather products.
What's the difference between prep and interior detailer for the interior? I don't have leatherique products. I'll buy them to restore and maintain the leather seats. What is Oreo? So basic cleaning is gyeon leather cleaner mild followed by gyeon interior detailer and advanced is the same first 2 steps then leatherique 2 steps then again with the first 2 steps. For everything else in the car, gyeon interior detailer does it. Any other products I should get? Let me know if I get this wrong or any other input. Thanks!
@@Alex-fo1rx prep and interior detailer are basically the same thing. I just wouldn't use interior detailer on paint. But I would use prep on paint and on interior. So basically just by prep. When I asked gyeon some hard questions they didn't really have some great answers. Bottom line is are both very similar and have a decent amount of alcohol in them. You get to say things like this when you're not backed by any companies or accredited with any companies lol. I just telling how it is. Sorry that must have been a typo or autocorrect. Oreo was prep. Everything you said was accurate but if you're going to do the full leatherique then I would just do leather cleaner and then you can just basically go in to the oil. Prep before is overkill. But you can do it if your a above and beyond guy lol. Theoretically it'll make sure the leather is cleaner so the oil is more accepting. Leatherique or however it's spelled. Prep Gyeon leather mild Gyeon leather brush Gtechniq leather guard if you want leather ceramic to pick it all in. Towels. That should be it
I recently purchased a used car with about the same miles on it! It’s in really good shape surprisingly! I have polished it and ceramic coated the car and it turned out pretty nice 👍 I love watching this video and your attention to details. Great job 👏
Just be gentle with cleaning steps and brushes. It should work great. I have a video on a Lamborghini together that basically is all about that leather oil process.
That's a very interesting idea!! I have a lot of alcantara from the Ascari Edition package. Like the lower part of center console. I think if I do alcantara it will look great. Plus it will look nice with the gear shifter thing lol... Makes it sound like a manual but you know what I mean Not completely sure how to remove all that stuff and not break anything tho ... Lol
5:09 those are some of the best wheels I have ever seen for a RS5. Fantastic wheels! also IMO Alcantara steering wheel a bit much for a daily use car. I would have personally swapped it out for a leather one and if you decided to track it swap it back and forth.
Thanks! I'm really happy with the wheels. OEM and winter tires on currently and I miss my ForgeLight! Back on soon I don't drive much and really enjoy the steering wheel. If it ever gets bad and can't be cleaned I'll swap it out. No problem 👍
@@STATUSDETAIL I’m glad you are enjoying your rs! I am pretty ocd when it comes to detailing but I don’t go that far haha! I recently bought a mk7 gti but I didn’t think of doing the headliner (it’s sagging anyway so it’s getting replaced) I hated how the hood and front rear bumpers looked (chipped and scratched) and took it to body shop and now looks good as new after me doing a 2 stage polish (m105/205) and ceramic coated
Some people do it to new cars. I personally would not do this. I think it's a great idea when you buy a used car that might be 2 years old or 3 years old. It's a really good idea on a car that's maybe four or five years old that's in good condition but seems to need hydration. The older the car gets the more it can help but there's a cut off point where the letter might just be too roughed up. Ideally you want to keep a new car new and do this every year or two and it'll really prolong the leather life
Awesome video my friend. My son Zach at leisure hours hobbies told me about you. You do awesome detailing and ppf. I hope to meet you in person some day.
Thanks for watching! Your son is awesome. He was helping me out on some rc car stuff! I use to be big into racing RC cars and attempting to find time for hobbies again so I can avoid over working! Lol Glad you found the channel 🙂🤝
I drove this exact car at Fort Washington's sister Mercedes store! I'm more of an M car buyer, but when I 1st saw it on the lot, it was very captivating! Very unique vehicle. I was swayed somewhat!
I learned the exact trick on Alcantara when I was developing a line of auto appearance products about 15 years ago using a leather topical cleaner I was working on. That material is EXTREMELY efficient at compounding and locking in body grime. But even though it’s actually a pretty strong material overall, there’s only one way to bring it back to almost new condition and that is carefully. After experimenting with a number of methods, you are spot on that it takes many light applications and light removals to not disfigure the surface texture along with a very noninvasive cleaning solution like a leather surface cleaner. Since it was synthetic material, I tried scrubbing with an all purpose cleaner and yes, it removed the dirt and grime, but from the aggressive cleaning it also removed the surface texture. But if it’s done exactly as you show here, it will surprise folks just how much grime is actually matting down the surface texture and it’s not actually worn down. Alcantara is some pretty amazing stuff!! I want to make some golf club grips from it, lol!! 👍🏻😎👍🏻
@@STATUSDETAIL, I had always thought that the material had worn out when it was matted down smooth. But I happened to run into someone that worked in textiles that knew a lot about the Alcantara material and he explained that although it’s a very durable material, its original design was to provide a very consistent and high level of comfortable grip. But the result looked so much like suede and they went all in on marketing it as a high durability synthetic suede. It’s one downfall was that although it provided excellent grip with gloves or bare handed on a steering wheel, it was extremely efficient at retaining body oils and grime which compounded and really held the surface texture down. A regular light cleaning of the steering wheel was originally suggested. But that suggestion never really got passed along. So, when operating with bare hands it doesn’t take long to lay down the surface texture. As mentioned, many folks think it’s worn out when in reality (as you have shown nicely) it just need to be properly cleaned. If Alcantara is cleaned lightly on a regular basis, it actually lasts a lot longer. Nice ride by the way!! 👍🏻😎👍🏻
Awesome!!!! I think it was one of my better ones. Had I pulled it off properly I think it would have been ridiculously good lol. I'll do a "unlisted detail" / "impossible detail" on my first super car purchase 👍👍
Recommendation 1 Don't wear blue jeans. Lol But we all do. So ceramic coat your leather and keep up with monthly or every other month fast cleanings with gyeon leather and a gyeon brush. Light pressure fast passes on seats that get used. Reapply gtechniq leather guard every 6 months if it's a big problem. It's fast and easy to install
@@STATUSDETAIL fair enough...but I'm going through my mid-life crisis and Jeans are a requirement...lol. I actually did install a sealer on the MBTEX, but it still dyed the surface. and cleaners are mild even when they do say strong....so it's not enough to remove the remaining blue from the leather. UGH.....wish there was something that would simply dissolve it off and then I can reapply a better coating.
I have a Nardo gray 2019 sportback. Comes with all the buttons and no soft limiter. I probably will have it forever. One of the beat Audis I've ever driven.
Such impressive work! That leather treatment is something I want to do....I already have all the Gyeon products including the brush, so I'm 95% ready. I guess you're going to be first in line for the Gyeon Purify products!
@@STATUSDETAIL Gyeon has a ton of new products coming Q1, including lots of EVO. Purify is a line of antimicrobial that has 90 days+ staying power. Gyeon Show was just held in NYC. Pretty exciting. th-cam.com/video/PommikGjjLI/w-d-xo.html
Can I ask why you bother paint correcting when applying film? Doesn’t the film cover any swirls and scratches anyways, and doesn’t removal of film have a high likelihood to introduce marring and swirls? That was always my understanding. Maybe do a jewling step for gloss but idk, or fixing orange peel I understand. I’d like to hear your thoughts.
It's simply the right thing to do. I want my paint perfect before I cover it for years with PPF. It also acts like a deep decon especially on used cars. You don't want to second guess dust in PPF during install vs after correction I have a mental note of every imperfection especially the ones I couldn't fix. So it makes your PPF go on smoother. On nearly every car. Fix something that's going to show past the ppf. In general paint correction enhances gloss. I want to seal that incredible gloss in with PPF. Hope this helps.
So glad you found the channel! If you enjoyed this one then you will love my other recent videos. Especially the gt3 vids and gt4rs one👍 enjoy and see you in future uploads 🤝
It's the perfect product to prep for ceramic. Especially after literally putting oil on the seats. You really want to make sure you get all the residue off. I wouldn't go cleaning my seats everyday or every week with anything that has alcohol in it. This particular process does benefit from it though
My dear, first congrats for your very special RS5. You deserve every bit of it. I really enjoyed that video, taking care of your new acquisition, making it even better than brand new, I did it a few years ago with a Cayman and I can relate how much of a deep dive it can be. Detailing is a hobby for me, not my job, and I found it very hard to complete this detailing project to perfection. Really hard to explain but at some point it starts to put a toll on you, and all your prior motivation to get it to 100% slowly transforms into a very heavy task that you seemingly can't see the end of... Anyway, just wanted to chip in with some kind of understanding, and also some words of encouragement and admiration. You really are someone extremely inspiring to me, keep up the good work and I wish you the highest level of absolute strenght to go through all your great projects. Take care mate.
Thanks for watching! You definitely sound like you understand how loving a car too much and being too involved in the process of getting it perfect can take a toll on you! Something a lot of car people might not fully understand until it happens. Appreciate the kind words!
YES!! I love paint correction....but I hate meeting time frames lol which I know is all part of the business. But when im able to take my time, I love it just like your saying. it is was I specialize in as well, im trying slowly trying to ONLY do that and ceramic coatings, but for the time being gotta do it all some what.
Totally agree. And I definitely did a bunch of jobs that I didn't always want to do in the beginning I'm very fortunate now we're 99% of the work I do is the really high end stuff and it's what I'm most excited about and most passionate about in that typically means it's the best work because you're most excited to do it. It's always best to seek a service from a person who's excited to do the work versus just happy to make the money but doesn't want to clean all though nasty stuff out of the back seat of someone's kid car for example. In my opinion you just get a different caliber of work when it's like your passion project is also your work project in the customers just win big in this situations. I try not to put crazy timelines on myself either I book pretty reasonable amounts of time to do customer cars. The problem with my personal cars is I have unlimited time and then it's spirals out of control lol
Thank you! I e definitely gotten better at taking breaks and stepping away from cars when needed. But definitely not scared of a long day next to a car worth as much as a house. Just knowing not to stack to many long days back to back.👍
I'm a big Audi guy. So this one is probably a long term keeper. Very possible we see a hybrid or electric one next gen. So this is basically the rarest trim for a combustion RS5. Just need to add a RS6 Wagon performance now. And a last gen R8. Three cars id probably never sell.
@@STATUSDETAIL Well the car looked classy and that color was spectacular. Congrats on the car and good to see you back on TH-cam putting out good content.
Looks amazing. Also have Napa leather in my RS3. My dog slobbered all over and it definitely affected the leather. Leaning towards cquartz leather 2.0 self install. Any reason you didn’t coat yours after all that work?
I did coat mine! I overlaid some text for the ceramic application. I show the front seat install. I used gtechniq leather guard. Gyeon leather ceramic and CarPro leather ceramic is more durable but changes look and feel. Gtechniq is less durable but maintains OEM look and feel. So I prefer that and to reapply now and then. If you have harsh kid or pet conditions the stronger options can be better 👍 I have two huskies and understand totally. They don't go in this car but do go in my S6 with same kind of leather
Definitely. I couldn't help my self. I went as far as I could until I imploded lol

As a fellow detailer and Audi fan, that Iscari blue RS5 sportback is truly awesome!! I have an S4 with many mods. My wife has a new Q3 in Tango red.
Q3 tango red sounds awesome! My previous car was a s4! B8.5 was great!
We have a C7 S6 too. Audi love over here 🙂
Q3 in Tango Red? That’s a special vehicle! That car deserves the best in its life haha

I d believe a content creation system will happen sooner or later. Like most business owners I want control over it all lol. Making a GTR edit right now and it takes a lot of time to get the flow and watch ability aspect right. Get the jokes timed right to make you laugh and keep watching etc. But someone out there should be able to match this edit style id hope. I don't mind filming to much. legs covered in sunblock on them?
That's a tough life for a seat! I'd use a lot of gtechniq leather guard and reapply often. Clean often with gyeon leather mild and a Gyeon brush.
Maintenance will be your friend. Meaning cleaning often is better than ceramic once and never cleaning. Maintenance plus ceramic is ideal.
So after the leather cleaner on the seats, is there a conditioner you put on or coating?
That oil system was conditioner. After that I did leather ceramic

Thank you! I have some killer vids coming up. Production quality was high! Just need to edit. Working on next video already!!

S4 is a great car. My previous car was a b8.5 S4. Had that 7-8 years. Was a great car! B9.5 looks great and more tuneable with the turbo. I think they offer that car in turbo blue too? That's a cool color as we.
Glad you enjoyed the video and happy car hunting!
under rated channel. that zen mode is called flow state. burnout sucks but leads you to realize the importance of hobby/work-life balance.. cool channel man +1 Sub
I think I'm starting to get some flow state with ppf now actually!
Definitely. I relax a little more now and it's been very nice.... Feels like to much sometimes lol. I need to get my GTR video out ASAP!

As a detailer I aproved this video
Lol thank you 🙂🙂
I really appreciated the video. I almost pulled the trigger on an Ascari but went with a Navarra Blue Metallic. Same as you purchased unseen out of state. Its on its way, i wont see it for 2 weeks, anxiety is building and I plan to go through the car like you did.
That's a great color too!! Basically everything I did besides PPF is pretty doable at home 👍👍
That’s the plan👌🏼
Hi buddy how to avoid wearing of that little signs of volume up anr down etc on steering music controls ?
On the rs5 it's like a back lit button. So it really should not wear.
On cars that do have this issue you can't do much. Don't scrub hard when cleaning. Be very gentle. It really should not get that dirty. Avoid hatch chemicals. No apc.
@@STATUSDETAIL thank u 👍
I recently bought a 2019 audi S5. I'm based out of Toronto. Any recommendations for detail shops? Looking for someone whose as knowledgeable as you.
Thank you! @@STATUSDETAIL
For the interior cleaning are you using the gyeon cleaner instead of the leatherique pristine clean, or in addition to?
@@TheOccasionalGentleman I used l rather cleaner first. Then leatherique system.
Hey from England! Im new to your channel and so glad Ive found you, this video is awesome. My wife thinks Im OCD, but you take it to another level! Can I echo some of the other comments and suggest that you get someone to video and edit your work so we can have some more content? Thanks for being honest, I like that!

It's definitely being considered! I hope to have a new video out in coming weeks!
Great self knowledge and learning lesson!!!!!!! Amazing work! Subscribed!

Is the leather oil safe on perforated seats?
Yes! But go light on the application and do multiple thinner coats. So put a little in your hands and work it in. Do not poor it onto perforated seats.
@@STATUSDETAIL perfect, I look forward to trying it!
I’ve got a 2020 Maserati Levante and take care of it thx for your expertise and lessons
My pleasure enjoy that car! 🙂
It’s a beautiful car. I’d prefer it in charcoal metallic but it’s a truly beautiful car!❤
Thanks 🙂👍
Beautify car!
Any discolouration concerns when using Gyeon Prep on interior surfaces, especially the fabric ones?

I started using leatherique 6 years ago and has been my go to for clients who want a true refresh.
It's like magic witchcraft for sure
Yes. Those wheels are amazing!
Thank you! Spent a lot of time deciding on the wheel specs. I think the car could be lowered slightly to enhance the look. But nothing rubs currently. So it's nice it can be driven hard too.

Sweet! I'm planning on a SQ7 soon 😃
Yes the perforated golf ball style leather steering wheel is awesome.
Lol
Leather is much easier to care for.
I think the S5, RS5 sport backs are absolutely stunning. Amongst the best looking sedans currently made. Well done Sir
thanks i totally agree!
I use Oreo after gyeon leather cleaner or if I go leatherique I do gyeon leather again then prep
If you have gyeon interior detailer detailer that works just like prep.
Prep
Gyeon leather mild
Gyeon leather brush
Gtechniq leather guard if you want leather ceramic to pick it all in.

Thank you and nice work on your car!!
i just got a 21 s6 prestige with red interior. i want to try that rejuvenater any tips for red leather?
Just be gentle with cleaning steps and brushes. It should work great. I have a video on a Lamborghini together that basically is all about that leather oil process.
To replace the piano black, try looking for an S5 center console trim. It's a nice textured dark grey plastic that's zero maintenance to keep clean.
That's a very interesting idea!! I have a lot of alcantara from the Ascari Edition package. Like the lower part of center console. I think if I do alcantara it will look great. Plus it will look nice with the gear shifter thing lol... Makes it sound like a manual but you know what I mean
Not completely sure how to remove all that stuff and not break anything tho ... Lol
Your enthusiasm and attention to detail is amazing and credit to you. 💙👍🏻

Back on soon
I don't drive much and really enjoy the steering wheel. If it ever gets bad and can't be cleaned I'll swap it out. No problem 👍
@@STATUSDETAIL I’m glad you are enjoying your rs! I am pretty ocd when it comes to detailing but I don’t go that far haha! I recently bought a mk7 gti but I didn’t think of doing the headliner (it’s sagging anyway so it’s getting replaced)
I hated how the hood and front rear bumpers looked (chipped and scratched) and took it to body shop and now looks good as new after me doing a 2 stage polish (m105/205) and ceramic coated
@@Vikturus22 awesome! Those are fun cars. We had a golf r in past and that was fun too.
Love the clam shell hood. Same as my A4. Hides the hood seam so well.
Agreed!
Would you recommend the leather q step if the car is brand new?

I drove this exact car at Fort Washington's sister Mercedes store! I'm more of an M car buyer, but when I 1st saw it on the lot, it was very captivating! Very unique vehicle. I was swayed somewhat!
Oh no kidding. That's interesting! I like m cars too. We just bought a x5m comp lol
Definitely agree! I have a video about this topic in a gt3rs and McLaren the steering was really bad! Totally fixed it!!!
Dude! Prob my favorite video that you’ve done so far. Enjoyed it.
Awesome!!!! I think it was one of my better ones. Had I pulled it off properly I think it would have been ridiculously good lol. I'll do a "unlisted detail" / "impossible detail" on my first super car purchase 👍👍

What's your recommendation for blue jean dye transfer removal? that's been my kryptonite lately :)
Recommendation 1
Don't wear blue jeans. Lol
But we all do.
@@talkingwithcars gyeon leather and a gyeon brush does remove it fast. I wear jeans all the time lol

I want to do a similar process with my RS3 seats, but since gyeon has alcohol in it and you use that for the final wipe isnt that a no-go?
It's the perfect product to prep for ceramic. Especially after literally putting oil on the seats. You really want to make sure you get all the residue off.
I wouldn't go cleaning my seats everyday or every week with anything that has alcohol in it. This particular process does benefit from it though
Ah gotcha thanks, do you also have any recommendation for fixing a pilling alcantara steering wheel? @@STATUSDETAIL
