    @3:03 I think that it's more power efficient to have two constructors clocked at 56.5% (which is 1.13 divided by 2) instead of having one at 100% and one at 13%. For newer players I'll say that it's even more power efficient for more constructors clocked lower (for example 3 at 37.667%, etc.) at the cost of more space for the machines. The power efficiency gains per space used typically diminishes when machines start getting clocked lower than around 35% though.
    Basically, the number shown for machines is the clock rate required of that machine, but machines can only be clocked up to 250%, and it's more power efficient to stay at or below 100% clock. So, if the picture at the machine says 7.5 you would need one machine clocked at 750% (can't be done), or 8 machines clocked at 93.75% (7.5 divided by the number of machines you're willing to build, in this case I used 8). You could also get away with only using 3 machines, because your requirement is 7.5, but you can clock machines to 2.5, so 7.5 divided by 2.5 is equal to the number of fully over-clocked machines you would need.
    If the machine showed a requirement of 8 however, then that divided by 2.5 for fully overclocked machines is 3.2, which means you would need a minimum of 4 machines. Since you need that 4th machine you don't need the other 3 to be fully over-clocked. You can do 8 divided by 4 (the number of machines you're building) which gives you 2. So, your 4 machines can be clocked to 200% each (which is a power savings over having 3 at 250% and one at 50%).

      OMFG THANK YOU, i've been trying to figure out how to get the numbers even there since i got to actual factories (ie, not the on the ground no foundations), and could never figure it out, and its so obvious, but it just... didn't click XD
      so to make sure, say i've got the need of 20.4 machines (so.. 2040% if im doing my mental math right) i'd just divide the % by machines? so say im willing to build 25 machines (even 5x5), i'd just do 2040/25 correct? which comes out to 25 machines clocked at 81.6%? or did i miss understand?

      recycling water is just too unstabile. personally i just dump it into wet concrete for the sink. this way your factory run consistent and you dont have to worry about fluctuations and production having hickups.

    • @JeronMiller
      @JeronMiller 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@MrLarsgren the priority splitters & mergers always use the top connections(input or output side depending on if it's a merger or splitter) as the priority. So to recycle water use a priority merger. The water coming from the factory goes into the top input and the bottom input goes to your water extractors to make up the difference. I've you figure these little details works perfectly every single time.

    Hey man this popped up in my feed and I wanted to say THANK YOU for pointing out this awesome tool! I've been using the satisfactory tools calculator which works well for calculating stuff backwards but I found the modeler to be more useful for comparing alternate recipes and also just helping me understand the process of making stuff better as I have to build it one step at a time in the modeler. Some of the factories I made using other calculators I missed some things... probably because they just spit out a solution without me having to figure out much on my own.
    One question: Have you figured out how to calculate backwards? Like say you want to make 8x modular frames and figure out how many resources you need for that, is there a way to do that? Or do you just set the max resources and then set a part limit on the output?

    My biggest issue with all of the Satisfactory Calculators is that they don't show how the heck you're supposed to get 33 items to one machine 8 to another and 2.5 to a third. Does this calculator address that type of problem in any way? Is there a load balance calculator anywhere?

  • @sullyd.225
    @sullyd.225 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I'm working with the calculator, but I'm a bit confused about how it determines output quantities. Working backwards from each machine, I noticed that there wasn’t a value displayed until reaching the ore, which showed a value of 60. How is this initial ore amount set? Using that 60 ore, the calculator indicates it will produce 2.5 modular frames, but if I want 10 modular frames, do I need to adjust the ore input until I reach that output? For example, I tried setting the assembler limit to 10 in the calculator, thinking that would fix the output to 10 modular frames, but nothing changed. It seems the 'limit' might just cap the output, regardless of input amounts. Assuming that’s correct, I then set all inputs to 1,000, which did result in 10 modular frames. Is this the best way to control output for a specific quantity, or am I missing a more efficient method?

    I hope such a question can be forgiven but how do you convert how many machines into a operating speed % or target amount? like at 6:03 there is 26.67 refineries.. so on one hand that's 26 at full speed and a 7th at ???? speed? and while that might be one way to handle it, how do people break that down into running all 26 or 27 machines at the same speed likely using underclocking.. but I have no idea how I'd convert 26.67 refineries needed into run 27 at X speed/output. thats like one of the biggest trips I've had when trying to figure out a layout ;w;

    Young man, the ratios and stuff needed for Satisfactory that I enjoy puzzling out too, is not Maths, it's arithmetic. When I was tormented in the first year of grad school learning the foundations of my Applied Mathematics and Statistics degree... now that was Maths... and honestly it was quite beautiful each time I understood what I was learning... maybe a little Stockholm Syndrome effect, but it was glorious each time I proved for myself, e.g., that there exists an open cover for any segment of the real number line... or even why the idea of real numbers had to exist... no holes in my number line, bro!
    The steam cheating software (if it's not pen and paper, it's cheating to a man like I stuck in the 20th century) does look very powerful, and it reminds me of Unreal Engine's visual programming function, which must mean it's the best way to do this type of work... Idk, AIs have ruined my desire to make my own digital content. 😮‍💨 I did do stuff long ago and far away like this, e.g., th-cam.com/video/w0bnigQ17JE/w-d-xo.html
