I got the "base" Mac Mini M4 Pro and I play a lot of WoW on it. It runs so smoothly and you get the same experience in raids, M+ and other multiplayer environments easily as shown in the video. I also play on a ultrawide monitor plus I even have some settings on higher. This M4 Pro is a beast and delivers!
This looks AMAZING. Notes for people who want to understand relative performance: This is with an ultrawide 1440p monitor, expect to get 15% better FPS. OP also did not optimize the graphic settings If you play on 1080p, you should be able to max most settings, and get 80+ FPS still. Super awesome, but 1080, ew. 1440p monitors... I would suggest turning graphics to 8 or 10, and then turn down the depth effects, and shadows, those 2 settings will take a lot of resources, but the other effects on max will have a beautiful impact, and you could still get 90-100+ FPS. If your monitor is 60hz, turn the settings UP, having 100FPS but low graphics has no noticeable benefit. Aim them higher, but tweak them down if you have major FPS drops. If your monitor is 144hz, around 90FPS will still feel amazing, I personally do not notice the difference between 90 and 144 in games like WoW. But 60hz definitely feels meh. The AI upscaling seems to be on by default now, so all videos on this will probably include that boost. Bonus tip: MACBOOKS have a 4k screen, so the same default settings with the same chip will get you like negative ~45% FPS. You can gain that back by playing with a 1440p monitor. 10/10 recommend. 1440p with 144+hz refresh rate is the best gaming experience with modern hardware.
I have the same doubts. I turned the image quality to 10 and turned off/on the difference of ray tracing shadow effects. This way I can quickly judge whether this computer is suitable for playing games. Is it possible to supplement these test data information?
Getting mine soon once I find out why UPS messed up my delivery😢. About same specs as yours. Got to see what it looks like at max using the elgato streaming hardware. Good video 😊😊
Thanks! I was in the same boat waiting for UPS! I really happy with the results, you will really like it! good luck with the streaming, I've not tried it yet but I might try with OBS one night just to see the performance.
I got the elgato 4K pro HDMI pass thru capture hardware. Do to M1 mini not being able to play and record at the same time and in addition my 49inch curved monitor it can be troublesome. The capture hardware has a limit of 30-32 inch monitors. Recording at that forces my Mac OS to do funny things with resolutions and choppy extremely choppy playback. Playing wow on the 49in screen all the load screens are set to max 32 inch. Playing D3 i can see all the assists out side of the 32 inch resolution box. It’s weird lol. It’s like watching a wide screen movie but the all the focus is on full screen. My hopes are with M4 pro and a new 32 inch monitor I can get a good recording segments and streams.
Thanks! It's just done within the default UI in wow, I did some customisation to the location of my map and my health and target bars. There are now more options to customise your ui straight from wow's default UI setting screen!
a bit expensive to play wow though...1600£ it seems given the spec you listed - I have a 800 custom pc 16g ram, 1.5tb ssd and a RTX3070 and 160 FPS avg in Dornogal. I Thought of switching to Mac but will have to wait a bit for price performance to be more balanced. unless you are a creative, dont see the point for now. the entry mac mini is great for surfing the web and retro gaming but that's it
Why do you need 160FPS. I work in embedded devices in the digital TV world and humans can't tell synch issues of less than 10ms. Typically people complain about lip sync if its out by a frame at 60Hz otherwise they don't notice.
@@melanierhianna you are right I don’t need that much fps, it is to show that for gaming there is such a gap between pc and Mac still. WoW is not a demanding game but apply the power difference in gaming to newer demanding games and there is no point to compare. BTW human eyes can see more than 10hz, I can tell straight way the difference of iPhone 60 vs120
1. You don't need 120 FPS to quest. Set you UI resolution scale to 100% 2. Why didn't you show what it was like on setting 10 at full resolution of your monitor. 3. Why not find a balance where you get prettier graphics and still maintain over 60FPS? I am convinced that no mac user understands gaming at all. This is a useless video. it does nothing to help people see how strong the GPU can be.

Hey there! Thx for uploading this. Wish we could see some BG or raid action :) /Cheer
Can't wait for M4 Max Mac Studio.
This is great! Would be awesome to see some LFR or BGs :)
€ 2.595,00 ... and what about raiding 2/4/14?
Hi, can we see in pvp battleground epic 40 vs 40 in centre of mass fight plz 😇

Hi there,
Can you check please what is the FPS performance when you chose "10" Graphic option with 1440p?
Thanks in advance.
I must say that you just saved me lots of money bcos I was thinking if I should go for m4 max for over 100fps gameplay in WoW!😅
Thanks for doing this. Which monitor are you using with this?

great video, thx for testing wow
Hi mate, what monitor do you use please?
Wow! 100 FPS in Dornogal!!
not impressive with 96% scale on 1440p with setting at 5 out of 10
@@mbvx7 ok, 96 fps in Dornogal
I've been waiting for a video like this) What's with the temperatures?
With my settings I have around 61-65 Degrees Celsius in open world questing / combat :)
@@ItssLukaomg
Can you please do a raid video ? Also what res what it ?
Hi, which mouse do u use for mac?
Why don't you put everything to the maximum? :)
fps 어디써있는데?
레이드 블러드 타임은?
plater elv도 안쓴다고?
Fine, I'll resubscribe, and get myself an M4 Max.....
Can it hold 4k resolution rendered at 100% at constant 60 FPS in classic wow?
so what's frame rate like in raid? especially on the more taxing bosses like Queen Anserek?
amazing
Your add-on setting is so cool. I want some information. Which one do you use?

Love it, but we all know the REAL test is in Oribos and Suramar.
How much RAM do you have on this? And thanks for running this test/example I've been wondering about this exact info!
It says in the description they're running the 24GB RAM configuration.
Raid is the real problem in The War Within. Outdoor content is dogshit for fps testing.
