- As the "Préludes Flasques" having been refused, Satie proposed to his editor the "Véritables Préludes Flasques" ("True Flabby Preludes"), always "for a dog" ("pour un chien"). The style is different, the writing is more assured and controlled.
The composer seasons the score with Latin locutions that break with the humorous aspect of these pieces, especially in the third one ("On jour"/"Let's play") in which Satie seems to parody several times "The little Nigar" by Debussy (1909), with little cakewalk phrases.

The first one does make me feel terrified, like a dog being yelled at; all three elicit exactly the feelings Satie intended us to have!
The first track straight up sounds a bit like a chase scene in a horror movie, which I think is a compliment being that horror movies were kind of in their infancy.
Oh wow, I've been playing this so much more softly and slow
Truly an eccentric musician Satie was
Satie was a genius
I'm shocked.

Dogs really enjoy this as intended.
