Barry is a legend, ‘Words’ is one of the most beautiful emotive songs ever written. When my father died I listened to ‘How can you mend a broken heart’ for weeks & I wouldn’t have gotten through the grief & pain without the comfort of my favourite Bee Gees songs. I’m forever grateful.
The Bee Gees was most definitely the only group for me.. I never tire of listening to them since 1973 I was 17 yrs young.. I’m 65 now.. I liked all the brothers, however, Barry always was my guy.. sorry Barry lost his three brothers & his mom & Dad… one day I hope to see them all in God’s choir.. there still alive!!!

Robin's personal fan base is tremendously active and loyal in promoting his legacy, and he has a passionate family who works toward nurturing the legacy of their father and husband. I wouldn't be worried for him. As a whole the Bee Gees will always have those detractors born of misinformation and or prejudice against their legacy, so haters gonna hate. There are enough lifelong fans and documented accounts "out there" to ensure the legacy of the Brothers Gibb. Long may they live!
One of things I like about the interviews done with Barry alone, like this one, or the three brothers together, it is especially Barry who ALWAYS mentions Andy. He always includes Andy, for mostly 'good' things but he has acknowledged Andy's shortcomings too, drugs for example, but he ALWAYS INCLUDES him. Now, that is real brotherly, family, love.
He was so close to Andy, writing songs for Andy & producing Andy's solo albums. There is a particular show all the brothers were on - sort of a "this is your life" show & Barry's grief is so evident when the host mentioned Andy.😢❤
I am a rough, rugby playing, ex-boxer, lifeboatman, but when I saw Linda singing along with Barry at the end, my eyes just filled up. Absolutely beautiful.

Wow! after all his success with his brothers, he still just wants to be remembered as "one of the bee gees" that is true humility. To him Bee Gees will always be him and his brothers. Great respect to you! and whoever gave a thumbs down is dumb enough to know that they don't know enough of this great band.
I don't think any actors could do justice to the three of them. I also think that if a movie were to be made, a British/Australian production would be superior. I don't think Hollywood would do them justice.
I don't like Piers! But wouldn't ever hold that against whomever he's interviewing. Secondly, this was the NICEST and the most HUMAN I've ever seen Him!

So glad I stumbled upon this. What an excellent interview this was. PIers asked all the questions we wanted to know. What a wonderful and loving man Barry is. The love that he feels for his wife is so apparent, even after all those years. This was one of the best interviews I have seen. Barry is a superb songwriter and a great singer, but more importantly, a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandpa!
Im 85 years of age and during my lifetime i have admired Elvis Presley for the longest time, then I swictched over to Frank Sinatra when i first saw him in philly at the Latin Casino and later in NJ at the other Latin Casino and again at a party in New York, Frank was the best singer i have ever heard, until one day i heard asong by Andy Gibb, called I just want to be your everything, and that got me on the way to listening to the Bee Gees. Now 2021 i have not been able to go a day without listening to their music, besides listening to the life they lived and the way Andy, Maurese and Robin passed away because of the use of boose and drugs, what a waste of such talent and what a shame for Barry, who has too bare the burden of living with the memories and of all the good and bad times he had with his brothers. I lost two brothers also and i can say it is not easy when i go back and think about the times we spent together and i wonder why i didnt spent more time with them. I feel for Barry and i hope he is happy with the rest of his life with his family. BYE

Barry Gibb is one of the most modest, gentle, warm and ultra gifted musicians out there. We're all in his debt. Knowingly and unknowingly, he brought us so much music and enjoyment, with AND without his brothers. I got sucked in to Barry Gibb, the Bee Gees, his/their music, his/their personalities, and I can only say, I salute you, and wished I had gotten in to you/them at least 45 years ago. If I could only turn back time ........
Linda's reaction was so unexpected. To think, after all their years together, his response legitimately surprised her. That's real love people, and it's a beautiful thing if you have it. ❤
If you watch carefully, at the end, when Barry starts to sing "To Love Somebody" he begins to sing, and within a second his whole body relaxes, he smiles and sings. It is so obvious that this is his joy, his personal place of comfort. I couldn't resist watching this again. For such celebrity, he is a true spirit of love of music, and family.
I love Barry & Linda too. U can tell that they both watch over each other & I never get tired of listening to theire music. I do weep for Robin & Maurice cause they were always there with Barry singing theire hearts out.

This is such a great interview i think that its just very clear that Barry Gibb is a special person and very humble and kind i am amazed at the story of The Bee Gees and how they were singing so harmonious together at such young ages, I feel sad for Barry to have lost his brothers too soon and i think he has a wonderful family and he deserves to be given the recognition for starting up the family band - it is amazing to watch them perform all of their hits theyve had over the years together on stage - there is no other band that sounds anything like the Gibbs i wil forever love this band and the music they wrote will never go out of style . Great interview i can watch it over and over - very inspiring it is !!

It was an awesome interview, especially including Linda, the boys and the grandchildren in it. His family means so much to him!! He is a very humble man, who wears his heart on his sleeve, misses his brothers so very much. And has realized that though they are gone, their souls are always with him. And as for Barry's left hand and arthritis his left thumb bones are detached from themselves. I imagine it must be very painful when playing the guitar. 😢 I have loved the B Gees well over 45 years, and continue to do so. Would love to see him in person some day.❤❤❤
I think what struck me was Linda's emotional reaction (and their sons) when discussing the deaths of Maurice and Robin. It reinforces that they were a real family and the love extended beyond three brothers and beyond musical colleagues.
I love this particular interview. So funny, sad, loving and informative. I was laughing so loud (home alone) and then crying so deeply and back to laughing and just cracking up. I learned quite a few tragic experiences, their feelings and some wonderfully happy times they had. I cried throughout the whole show.I''ve been a fan of the BEEGEES for 40 years.Like any super fan, I thought I knew everything about them.I was wrong.Barry is the most humble superstar I've ever seen.I knew that,already.I saw him in concert in 1979 & met him in person in 1990.What I didn't know was how much his family supported him or how much the deaths of Andy,Maurice and Robin,devastated all of them.I've always known that Barry & Linda loved and adored each other,but seeing it here was a beautiful experience.Hearing his grandchildren say, 'I love you,Papa' made me cry,because I once had a papa of my own.Seeing the love that whole family had for each other was an uplifting experience.Thank you for sharing this wonderful show on TH-cam.I appreciate it more than you'll ever know! I never realised most of the songs I'd heard through other artists before now were originally sung by the Bee Gees- songs like: Too much heaven, You don't know what it's like to love somebody (which i thought was owned by Micheal Bolton..lol, Immortality, etc. What a band, and what an incredible man Barry is❤️ Glad for his lovely wife who's stood by him, his children and grand children.

The BEE-GEE'S was and still is my favorite group of all time - and still is - and I'm 75!!! I loved them when I was young and still do even at my age! Still brings tears to my eyes - especially when the boys dies - all three of them! So heartbreaking. GOD BLESS YOU BARRY - you have such a beautiful family and your brothers will always be around you!!! You were magnificent - and Andy died too damn young!!! YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!!! I have lost a brother also many years ago so I can understand how emotions make you feel about the loss of siblings. It blows my mind to have seen the rise and explosion of this little band we had around Redcliffe when I was a kid. Barry is such a great individual in his own right, but all the brothers were super talented! I am so grateful that I saw these guys when they were kids. They were so incredibly talented even then.
@@michaelconnor7047 - I was born on the twins' birthday, same year, 1949 so I'm 71. As a teen, Robin's voice was the first Bee Gees song I heard in 1967. His death broke my heart actually the most because he suffered so horribly for so long. He was so intelligent, eccentric and hysterically witty with an astounding voice (Barry said in their bio Rob's voice was the best he ever heard, better than his own) and the competition he had with his big brother was a huge factor in their success. Mo's death ended both the Bee Gees and took half of Robin with him.

Barry wrote beautiful songs because he had real love in his heart, the way he loved his family and was able to recognize early that he should cherish them all his life❤️ he knew he had all that's real, beautiful and true even before all the successes came, because his true success, I believe, was his joy for what he did and doing it all with his beloved brothers,.so his success never really dimmed! He remains the great artist that he is. A real living legend, this man! I'm so glad that after all these years growing up and enjoying his beautiful songs I can say that I appreciate him and his wonderful family of BeeGees even more❤️ God bless him and his family!

At the mention of Maurice, my heart broke. You can see the grief and pain by losing him. His love for his siblings is amazing, and its understandable as they shared life's ups and downs for almost all of their lives.
I adore Sir Barry Gibb! He is authentic, which is more than I can say for any top 40 artist today. He remains vulnerable in his writing which makes him so unique and lovable! Love you, Mr Gibb!
You could feel their presence there with him. I know they’re still there. Not far away. They’ve just stepped into the next room, just like my mom did just a year ago. My mom and Barry were exactly the same age.
I hope generations to come will come to realize what everyone of my generation knows...we did get a "little bit of Heaven" in the beautiful music created by Barry Gibb and his brothers! And no one deserves the fame and fortune more. A very wonderful person!

He is not scared to ask very difficult questions. How else are we to know how someone really feels,if we don't ask the painful truths of life. Having lost my only two brothers very early in my adult life,I feel I have a connection with Barry Gibb,beyond his amazing songs that is. Also I wasn't aware that he had spent 2 years on probation as a Young man,as I also did. Unfortunately though I have absolutely no gift for writing or singing songs as he does,but then very few people do. He is a real star.
As he begins to sing To Love Somebody at the end of the interview, his whole body relaxes and becomes joyful, comfortable and part of the song. I have watched this over and over again because of the fun and love and joy of listening to this amazingly humble man who, with his family, has brought such wonderful music to us all.

What a precious moment it must have been for Linda. Every woman on earth would want to hear their husbands say that. What a man, what a talent, what a gift to the world. I've never been impressed with celebrities...but, Barry Gibb is the only one I have ever had a crush on..and the main reason is, he is a family man who loves his wife, and kids, and knows that is the most important thing, that speaks to his character
That band and this man in particular has been with me all my life. Whatever stage of life you are in, whatever emotion you are experiencing the BeeGees have a song to relate to. Such a gifted and down to earth man. A genius. Living life in the same era as this man is a bliss. His solo album In the now is testimony of not only his talent but it appears it runs all through the Gibb Family. Barry you are still the man!!!
I have loved the Bee Gees even before my life began. I became a huge fan!!! Was very sad to see his brothers die, starting with Andy. I'm so happy that we still have Barry. Losing Andy then Maurice and Robin was heartbreaking to me. I can only imagine how Barry feels - so much loss and pain. Hope we have Barry for many more years! ❤ The BeeGees were my favorite group, especially their 60s music, and my favorite songs will always be "To Love Somebody" and "I Can't See Nobody".

One of things I like about the interviews done with Barry alone, like this one, or the three brothers together, it is especially Barry who ALWAYS mentions Andy. He always includes Andy, for mostly 'good' things but he has acknowledged Andy's shortcomings too, drugs for example, but he ALWAYS INCLUDES him. Now, that is real brotherly, family, love.
He was so close to Andy, writing songs for Andy & producing Andy's solo albums. There is a particular show all the brothers were on - sort of a "this is your life" show & Barry's grief is so evident when the host mentioned Andy.😢❤
God gave Barry, Robin and Maurice an incredible gift. So blessed that they shared this gift with us

What a great father, grandfather and most of all a great human being. Very genuine.
Im 85 years of age and during my lifetime i have admired Elvis Presley for the longest time, then I swictched over to Frank Sinatra when i first saw him in philly at the Latin Casino and later in NJ at the other Latin Casino and again at a party in New York, Frank was the best singer i have ever heard, until one day i heard asong by Andy Gibb, called I just want to be your everything, and that got me on the way to listening to the Bee Gees. Now 2021 i have not been able to go a day without listening to their music, besides listening to the life they lived and the way Andy, Maurese and Robin passed away because of the use of boose and drugs, what a waste of such talent and what a shame for Barry, who has too bare the burden of living with the memories and of all the good and bad times he had with his brothers. I lost two brothers also and i can say it is not easy when i go back and think about the times we spent together and i wonder why i didnt spent more time with them. I feel for Barry and i hope he is happy with the rest of his life with his family. BYE

If you watch carefully, at the end, when Barry starts to sing "To Love Somebody" he begins to sing, and within a second his whole body relaxes, he smiles and sings. It is so obvious that this is his joy, his personal place of comfort. I couldn't resist watching this again. For such celebrity, he is a true spirit of love of music, and family.

This is such a great interview i think that its just very clear that Barry Gibb is a special person and very humble and kind i am amazed at the story of The Bee Gees and how they were singing so harmonious together at such young ages, I feel sad for Barry to have lost his brothers too soon and i think he has a wonderful family and he deserves to be given the recognition for starting up the family band - it is amazing to watch them perform all of their hits theyve had over the years together on stage - there is no other band that sounds anything like the Gibbs i wil forever love this band and the music they wrote will never go out of style . It was an awesome interview, especially including Linda, the boys and the grandchildren in it. His family means so much to him!! He is a very humble man, who wears his heart on his sleeve, misses his brothers so very much. And has realized that though they are gone, their souls are always with him. And as for Barry's left hand and arthritis his left thumb bones are detached from themselves. I imagine it must be very painful when playing the guitar. 😢 I have loved the B Gees well over 45 years, and continue to do so. Would love to see him in person some day.❤❤❤

I think what struck me was Linda's emotional reaction (and their sons) when discussing the deaths of Maurice and Robin. It reinforces that they were a real family and the love extended beyond three brothers and beyond musical colleagues.

I cried throughout the whole show.I''ve been a fan of the BEEGEES for 40 years.Like any super fan, I thought I knew everything about them.I was wrong.Barry is the most humble superstar I've ever seen.I knew that,already.I saw him in concert in 1979 & met him in person in 1990.What I didn't know was how much his family supported him or how much the deaths of Andy,Maurice and Robin,devastated all of them.I've always known that Barry & Linda loved and adored each other,but seeing it here was a beautiful experience.Hearing his grandchildren say, 'I love you,Papa' made me cry,because I once had a papa of my own.Seeing the love that whole family had for each other was an uplifting experience.Thank you for sharing this wonderful show on TH-cam.I appreciate it more than you'll ever know! It blows my mind to have seen the rise and explosion of this little band we had around Redcliffe when I was a kid. Yes I’m like you I was born in 1960 so I remember all the Saturday night fever days very well good health Barry gibb.
@@michaelconnor7047 - I was born on the twins' birthday, same year, 1949 so I'm 71. As a teen, Robin's voice was the first Bee Gees song I heard in 1967. His death broke my heart actually the most because he suffered so horribly for so long. He was so intelligent, eccentric and hysterically witty with an astounding voice (Barry said in their bio Rob's voice was the best he ever heard, better than his own) and the competition he had with his big brother was a huge factor in their success. Mo's death ended both the Bee Gees and took half of Robin with him.

He remains the great artist that he is. A real living legend, this man! You could feel their presence there with him. I know they’re still there. Not far away. They’ve just stepped into the next room, just like my mom did just a year ago. My mom and Barry were exactly the same age.
I hope generations to come will come to realize what everyone of my generation knows...we did get a "little bit of Heaven" in the beautiful music created by Barry Gibb and his brothers! And no one deserves the fame and fortune more. A very wonderful person!

Ringside Report Web TV Channel I totally agree. Also not a fan of Piers,but he has gone up a bit in my estimation,having watched this brilliant interview. He is not scared to ask very difficult questions. How else are we to know how someone really feels,if we don't ask the painful truths of life. Having lost my only two brothers very early in my adult life,I feel I have a connection with Barry Gibb,beyond his amazing songs that is. Also I wasn't aware that he had spent 2 years on probation as a Young man,as I also did. Unfortunately though I have absolutely no gift for writing or singing songs as he does,but then very few people do. He is a real star.
As he begins to sing To Love Somebody at the end of the interview, his whole body relaxes and becomes joyful, comfortable and part of the song. I have watched this over and over again because of the fun and love and joy of listening to this amazingly humble man who, with his family, has brought such wonderful music to us all.
I can't believe there are so many closed minds! Even if you don't like disco, surely they must admit the man was a musical genius!
l didn't care for disco at the time in the 70s as a teenager..but the bee gees were much more than just disco music ..and I had all their records
@@vickiebunch5703 people don't even know how many songs Barry wrote that others recorded other then the bee gees back in the 70s and 80s .People like Barbara Streisand, Dolly Parton and many others all scored big hits recording Barry Gibb songs .

I've never been impressed with celebrities...but, Barry Gibb is the only one I have ever had a crush on..and the main reason is, he is a family man who loves his wife, and kids, and knows that is the most important thing, that speaks to his character
That band and this man in particular has been with me all my life. Whatever stage of life you are in, whatever emotion you are experiencing the BeeGees have a song to relate to. Such a gifted and down to earth man. A genius. Living life in the same era as this man is a bliss. His solo album In the now is testimony of not only his talent but it appears it runs all through the Gibb Family. Barry you are still the man!!!

I'm so happy that we still have Barry. Losing Andy then Maurice and Robin was heartbreaking to me. I can only imagine how Barry feels - so much loss and pain. Hope we have Barry for many more years! ❤ The BeeGees were my favorite group, especially their 60s music, and my favorite songs will always be "To Love Somebody" and "I Can't See Nobody".
