you can't even have a folding chair by a blind chance, you mean to tell me that a motor, that scientists struggled and studied for decades to build it, could happen by the result of a random chance?

Which came first, the code, or the protein?
Where did the code come from specifying insertion and location of internal and external membrane embedding of different parts?
Are there simpler flagella in the archaea?
Do some flagella change rotational direction based on chemotaxis vs simple on-off? Is that a simple process?

Why does complexity translate in the necessity for a designer? Complexity is subjectivity of perception. What is complex for you is natural for nature. When two north poles of a magnetic repel each other, it is not complex, it is natural. Nature has physical rules, creation from physical rules is not designing - it is nature abiding by it’s physical rules that leads to an organism whom dies if it cannot survive or lives on if it does. If it’s existence is passed on for many years, nature’s physical rules will lead to an organism’s natural entities to be further refined that improve it’s survivability, so it’s more likely to survive. If nature’s entities are not refined, the organism’s survivability is not improved so it is more likely to die. All life you see around is the less than 1% of all living existences that did not live. It’s really trial and error on an enormously large scale.

@@jakkuwolfinsomnia8058 Well goddamn that was a great write-up. For me, this just makes me more strongly agnostic. This shit is so complex and reminiscent of human invention that it almost begs you to think "what-if"? And at the end of the day, we don't even know what god is right? Religions have their own definitions of what they believe god is. If we were to become advanced enough as a species that we could perfectly simulate a working universe would we not be gods? If that happened a step before us would they not be considered our gods? Are these things testable? Maybe, but certainly not currently. Maybe one day we will be able to apply the scientific method to learn more about what god is. Maybe nothing even remotely close to a god exists. We don't know. I mean, me personally, I feel like there is probably no god. But the keyword here is I *feel*. In the absence of certainty, some assumptions have to be made, for certain things, to be able to live one's life. What happens when we die? We don't know, so people tend to feel whatever is the answer that makes them most comfortable. I personally think when I die I will cease to perceive. Moe specifically, I believe that the immortal soul does not exist, and that when all chemistry ceases in my body I will no longer exist in any meaning. This is more comfortable to me, because in order to believe there is an afterlife of some sort, I would need to radically alter some very fundamental ways that I currently perceive my world. But that's the thing, at the end of the day it is just a belief I have. I can't know for certain because we have no means of testing what happens after death. Maybe nothing happens because we understand enough about the philosophical mind. Point is I know nothing, but I guess sometimes I have to make decisions given that I don't know the things I'd like to. And I'm not sure why thats the point. Idk why I got weirdly defensive at some points. Just a strange ramble really. 3.7/10.

Merely stating that the flagellum is a marvel of evolution doesn’t mean that it is. The statement must be backed up with logical evidence and fact, something which you failed to do with respect. If you can explain how such a complex bio mechanism came to exist by means of un directed blind chance and provide evidence to back up the explanation that would be different. My common sense and power of reason coupled with the evidence in the real world around me, scream loud and clear...intelligent design. ...therefore creator...therefore God. Where there’s design there’s a designer. Why are you so quick to dismiss the notion of a creator, especially given the evidence. You appear to have a bias toward evolution. Surely science should be unbiased and objective and take you to where the evidence leads.

chakradhar sabbella essentially in simple terms what happens is a mutation eg the wrong nucleotide base being used instead of another or perhaps one being missed out, this changes the amino acid used and subsequently changes the final protein. mutations are extremely common so evolution happens faster especially in a changing in environment. and if ur wondering what causes this to happen faster might be a warmer environment where enzymes have a different rate of activity or fail to function which causes the mutation of the gene. simple mutations are the reason why some babies die, if a god did exist he wouldn’t do this would he?

If it could be demonstrated that any complex organ existed[,] which could not possibly have been formed by numerous, successive[,] slight modifications[,] my theory would absolutely break down.
This passage, in Darwin’s hand, comes from chapter 6 (p. 189) of On the Origin of Species (1859, Murray: London), “Difficulties on theory,” in a section where he covers organs of extreme perfection. Immediately following the quoted passage, Darwin wrote: “But I can find out no such case.”
