Very nice! Same here in Winnipeg Manitoba. Thank you for sharing. I love to learn how to make bike work in winter time too.
No problem. It has been a fun way to shorten winter a bit here!
Lotta cool tool and accessory tips; thanks!
Glad you liked it! Thanks for watching! 😊
Badass. Love my KLR! I’m inspired. I was thinking of making studded tires, and maybe getting a paddle tire.
Those paddle tires look like they'd be interesting in sand!
Very cool - Literally! What a great video on winter riding with the KLR. Thanks for sharing!
I loved my KLR.
Have you changed to a different bike?
Thank you for watching! 😁
Absolutely amazing, thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I've watched a lot bike vids, but none like this. Thank you, ya crazy....
Glad you enjoyed it! More to come here eventually!
That’s pretty awesome. Nice to see what’s possible.
Thanks! Watch for Expedition Frozen Seal videos coming up mid March. A buddy and I are riding to Prudhoe Bay.
@@ak.klr650 you must be at least half crazy to ride that in the winter. I have plans to do it in warmer temperatures. I look forward to seeing it.
The primary risk is other traffic on the road. I think we've chosen a good time of winter to give it a go. It'll be an experience for sure!
Fantastic, thanks
Glad you liked it!
Awesome content👍👍... all the best for 2024
Thanks! 😁
Awesome stuff
Take care man
Thanks, you too!
Sweet man. Nice video! Heated gear 🔥🙌🏻
Appreciate it! Thanks! 😊
Just think of the four wheelers who went in shock seeing a motorcycle riding in those conditions 😮
I saw a couple people scrambling for their phone cameras as I went by. 🤣🤣
Very nice video! I live near Seattle but have up your way on my 2009 KLR. But that was in (a very wet) August in 2010. No tire studs needed then. Its beautiful up there. I think your Led lighting helped you run that much heated gear. To be safe I limit my heated gear to only a vest. Be safe and ave fun up there.
Thanks! Yes, I should probably invest in a jump pack just in case I screw myself over with the gear one day. It's dome well so far though. 😊
Good video! You definitely get the HardCore Award 🥇
Thanks, and thanks for watching! 🤙
Great video! As for winter driving I think your low traffic is pretty key to your safety, as we just have too many drivers here in Fairbanks that have very limited winter driving capability. I find I have to dodge a few choice individuals each week driving my Jeep to avoid accidents, and that makes me totally uncomfortable in riding my DRZ in the winter here.
I'd pass straight through once if I had to, but wouldn't ride there in town on purpose much. Geniuses up there manage to slide off the road on the dry straight stretches, say nothing about the ice.
Amazing and impressive! Love those studs!
Riding at -10?! Who knew lol.
Gorgeous landscapes and lighting as you said! You deserved that coffee well done ha.
I’m in SoCal OC so I need to stop complaining right lol.
Thank you!
Comfort in all weather all depends on your gear and what you're set up for I guess. 😂 I've done some miserable cold rides at much warmer temperatures in the past. This one was about as comfortable as you can be outdoors in winter. 👌
Burrrrrrr!!!!
I was notably more comfortable than you'd expect. But the wind chill on a bike at below 0⁰ is certainly something to dress for!
Hey man, nice work experimenting with the cold! Mind if I ask what boots you’re using? I have a bum foot that keeps getting cold with an old injury… Good luck in your future journies! E-
Thanks! I am just wearing old military surplus bunny boots. Not much for ankle protection, but they're waterproof and warm!
Music is a loud, great job on the trip . Baby steps lead to great leaps
Thanks for the feedback on the music. I'll have to cut it back on my next edit if I can. 😊
Hardcore! No issues with carb icing at those temps?
Fuel injected on these new KLRs. 😊
Have you thought of runnig up to prudhoe in the middle of winter?
I am actually planning one now with a buddy.
Nice videos!
I would like to install auxiliary lights on my KLR. What brackets did you use to attach your lights on your SW Motech crash bars?
Thank you!
They are the SW Motech crash bar ligjt mounts. If I remember right, they came separate from their EVO high beam kit, but are made to go with it.
Would u know what is the widest rear tyre i can put on a klr adventure?
I don't actually know. I have never gone away from the stock size.
I have a 2023 klr 650 that wont start below 20. Any tips?
That's normal unfortunately. You have to warm the engine up to start them. I am in the process of working out a portable solution that I hope to have success with. All of my trips so far have been day trips leaving from a warm garage and not letting the bike cool off too much between starts.
Did you put screws in your tires?
Nevermind 😂
I guess you found the answer. 😂😁
The music is a bit loud. Hard to understand what you're saying. As far as enjoying winter, as a transplant (not to AK though), vitamin D is your friend. Before i was taking Vitamin D, i kind of dreaded winter. After taking vitamin D for 6 months, I found all of a sudden that winter didn't bother me. Get your D25 hydroxy tested, it's eye opening.
Thanks! I'll see about dialing the music back on the next one of these. Still learning on the editing. 😊 I do regularly take Vitamin D.
