The International Court of Justice (ICJ), the principal judicial organ of the UN, holds public hearings on the preliminary objections raised by the Russian Federation in the case concerning Allegations of Genocide under the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide (Ukraine v. Russian Federation: 32 States intervening) from 18 to 27 September 2023, at the Peace Palace in The Hague, the seat of the Court. Session held under the presidency of Judge Joan E. Donoghue, President of the Court.

Can we please have a week to focus on the United Nations, SDG’s and coming together. I have been enjoying so many video on UN last couple days as youth of the world have been coming together and working for peace. Nations can negotiate peace like they have for years. This these 2 countries have had 3 peace agreement? Minsk 1 and 2 and another one too. I wish this court would be use for binding treaties. In retrospect from a 2023-10-22 viewpoint, it looks like both Judge Xue's Declaration on 2022-03-16 & Judge Buergenthal's Declaration on 2004-07-09 were rather more balanced than the decisions reached in each case by the Court's majority. Should the votes in each case have been closer? Are the supermajorities in each case evidence more of legal clarity or Court bias? Thank you.
