If you listen closely, the music at 1:01 sounds like a sad, twisted, and almost perverse version of Flight, which is the track that plays when Superman first flies. This is an example of Snyder's and Zimmer's brilliance: If You Love These People is played in the scene in which Zod learns how to fly, but, instead of using his powers for good the way Superman does, he uses them for evil. Therefore, it only makes sense that this track should share the same base as Flight, since they both play during scenes of Kryptonians learning how to fly, but, just as Zod's first flight is a backwards variation on Superman's, the music that accompanies it should be, too.

It put Superman in a lose-lose situation having to chose between his people. Zod’s Story is just about loyalty to a world that sent its last hope to another world, and he thought the only way to save his world was to destroy the new one which caused the fight to happen. In the end it depicts what happens to a man when you take from him what is most important in his life, and it sounds cliche but the way it ties into Superman’s story makes him an incredibly special and unique villain.

I could see this playing in the next Superman movie against Darkseid cause it's all about "if you love these people" just like what happened to Zod storytelling. With the Flight theme in Zacks Justice League against Steppenwolf BRAVO and good timing too.
1:53 to 2:12
something about this part really gives me goosebumps..
"If you love them, then you can mourn for them."
2:59 I can hear super man screaming in my head
"I was bred to be a warrior. Trained my entire life to master my senses. Where DID YOU TRAIN ? ON A FARM ??!!"
I loved the impact effects on every hit landed by the kryptonians. Felt like a typical DBZ fighting scene, where you can really feel their power.
Man of Steel is one of Zimmer's best scores.
Zod- "If you love these people... then you can watch them die." *starts to slowly move his laser vision towards a cornered family.
Superman- *struggles to stop him from turning his head* "Zod! Stop!"
Zod- "Never."
Superman- *realizes there is no other way, then snaps Zod's neck* "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!"
Why did so many people have a problem with this scene.
"If You Love These People So Much, You Can MOURN For Them!"
feels
this is like a blend of all the greatest hanz zimer soundtrack!!! and this movie perhaps will be the greatest movie of our generation... never have witnessed such an amazing and epic story unfold before my eyes!!
i would not fight zod to any other music!!!
I love the sense of desperation in this piece. You can feel the stakes rising with every beat.
A masterpiece 👌
At the end, I couldn't stop myself from saying: "Don't do this! Stop!" ".....Never!"
i imagine this song being played as two or three gods or such escape the death of their universe and fight to the death to put a decider on the new universe they end up in. destroying each other as the new one grows and forms around them. pretty cool
Oh no more gods lol
And here im sitting four years after the movie came out with my superman trainingsuite never though i would ever say i love superman so much love him so much!!!
0:38-1:14 - looped it up and its now my running music. Makes me feel like i can run forever. love it.
"If you love these people..." probably the heaviest lines general zod used not just to taunt superman but to remind him that Zod also loved his people just as much as superman loved his.
THIS IS MY WORLD.
We are getting the Snyder Cut !!!!!!!!!!
"Những gì ta làm dù cho có dã man tàn bạo như thế nào cũng là vì dân tộc"
Put this on whilst on the toilet...
Lets just say....
I won?
*insert Clark screaming sound
Man of Steel was much better than Batman vs. Superman!
Steven Schoenfelder I'm not really a superman fan but I do love the man of steel and batman v superman
Steven Schoenfelder I can agree to that
Steven Schoenfelder Batman v superman is best movie actualy
Steven Schoenfelder totally agree
DC rocks.😍
God it makes me think what the hell happened like two gods fighting brings tears to my eyes the desperation of Clark fighting to save the humans even tho he is the last of his kind he doesn’t want to kill Zod but has no choice everyone saying this scene is amazing but damn it’s so sad 😭 to watch Clark fight and the buildings come tumbling down it’s just jaw dropping 😢
"Where did you train?! On a farm?!?!"
Yes...yes he did.
This song gives me chills everytime... forced to do something that he wish he didn't have to, probably going to be used to batman's advantage and motive to take down superman in the sequel.
when General Zod's is a bigger enemy than Steppenwolf from JOsstice League (2017)
I wish I would've seen this movie when it was in theaters. I had to watch it at home.
This. I got a lot of Lion King chills from 1:39 - 2:00 in particular. Guessing since Zimmer did both he borrowed a bit from himself.
1:55 falling pieces satelit Bruce Wayne
That pissed me off
