  • We're all an important part of each other's lives, regardless of our sexuality or gender identity.
    You're going to have people in your life who are lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans...and that's a pretty awesome thing.

    'You know what it would feel like having experienced anti-semitism and racism, it's basically the same thing. You are being discriminated against something that you can't possibly control.' - YES. I feel that the link between racism and homophobia isn't made enough. She's completely right in that in both situations, there is a prejudice against something that person never chose to be, it is simply an element of who they are.
    I loved this video. To my year 7 self - although you hate it right now, but embrace and celebrate what makes you different! One day you'll cherish it and you'll be surrounded by so many beautifully different people.

    When your gay and someone you told, a friend, your family, anyone straight and you accept them that gay boy or girl IS going love you more than you'll ever know. They told you in the first place because they like or they love you or they respect you, when I was young boy in school I felt a strong love for those who accepted me.

    This brought back good memories and brought some tears 2my eyes. I instantly posted it on FB 2thank my friends from high school (I went 2an all boy's private school in Melbourne and was a boarder, class of 2001).
    I was outed in year 11 after having come out 2some people, and I have 2say that it was an amazing experience - scary at first, but I never got bullied. Sure, there were moments, but they were quickly shot down by my friends. Kinda helped that I was a prefect in year 12 though!!

    I don't understand why most of anti-homophobia campaigns tend to be more focused on gay men and sort of leave out lesbians. Like, lesbians are oppressed too.
    I might be wrong, but this is an impression I often get.

    • @NameThingHere
      @NameThingHere 10 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      no youre right even though statisticly there are more lesbians.
      i think it might be becasue it looks like some people do approve of lesbians and not gay men becasue of.. well. their own intrest.
      or maybe its becasue the gay men are a big part of televition and all that and lesbians arnt that much that maybe they forget about them. really unfortunate but.. yeah \:

      Sainte Ann maybe and its not that im not happy for them but its just wierd in my opinion that the accept them but not gays or even asexuals (dont get me started on transgenders).

    I can't wait until we fully accept and just let people be happy... Not enslave them, push them off their land, or discriminate because we believe in making ourselves happy by making some else sad to the point of suicide.

  • @ThePrinceOrtmayer
    @ThePrinceOrtmayer 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Nothing mate all I'm saying is if you want to change somebody views you have to be able to show them that what they are doing is wrong NOT tell them. Telling them just makes people worse. I'm talking after I stopped bullying people

  • @silent_buttdeadly
    @silent_buttdeadly 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    none of that even made sense. Hush.

  • @ThePrinceOrtmayer
    @ThePrinceOrtmayer 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    No I never bullied anybody other than gay people believe me I wasn't the worst offender at my school. This was a private school so people there should have known better. I for one have matured and I no longer care if somebody is gay it's their personal choice not my business. Btw you stated it's ignorance it's more than that it's a fear of people who are different. People should be free to express their sexual orientation but ignorant and bigoted people keep that from happening.

    Yeah but when a straight couple make out in public they DO get ostracized maybe not BULLIED but definitely ostracized. But the thing is straight people aren't going to poison the minds of kids gay people are. Hey it's not okay to bully people, but when somebody is goading you can you just sit and bear it?

  • @ThePrinceOrtmayer
    @ThePrinceOrtmayer 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    yeah well rather you than me. My views of the gay community have changed but that doesn't mean I will jump up and start promoting their rights just not my business.

  • @ThePrinceOrtmayer
    @ThePrinceOrtmayer 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Just voicing my opinion that's all I am entitled to mine and others are entitled to their own. P.S you don't have to be gay to have an opinion.

    See, you just told me that you were straight because you're in a relationship with a woman. so now everybody has the right to bully you because you didn't keep that to yourself! i do find it funny that the last 4 videos that you commented on are about gays. so i really do wonder why you even search for it...

    well they are YOUR parents so get educating. At my school where I was at okay everything was pretty great except homophobia was a routine thing and sad thing was there were a few openly gay guys at my school who got bullied the shite out of and that was classified as normal. Strangely it was just them that were bullied. It's wrong but homophobia is a norm
