  • November 28, 2016 "Where The Mild Things Are" - Tina and I have traveled 1,500 miles, we are now on day 11 and still have encountered only normal "mild" things on this trip.
I'll drive another 800 to 1,000 miles through some of the wilds of Texas, particularly in Big Bend in my Jeep tomorrow and into Wednesday morning.
If one believed the media - broadcast, cable and Internet, I probably should have been assaulted or eaten by now, possibly by noon Wednesday. I've gone "where the wild things are" most of my leisure time in my life to immerse myself in the "mildlife."
This has been a wonderful time visiting the girls and touring hill country. But I'm packing the Jeep today and leaving on my solo trek at 3 or 4 am Tuesday, bound for "where the mild things are". I don't anticipate filming anything too wild... but there will be active cameras and video running during my drive though the park and hikes on a few trails.
Bringing two walkie talkies for hikes and leaving one in the Jeep with a note on frequency and time I left on any hike.
