Well, this was a fun weekend. As the title says, from chainsaws to rainbows plus a little of everything in between. And our first pride flag at our cabin looks pretty awesome to see. Makes us proud to know we can wave that from our porch. Hope you all have a great weekend and happy pride! -T&R
The rainbow colors unite us all.
Indeed 🌈
Sorry I’m late watching it guys, been busy. The place is looking great!! Love what you’ve done with it.
When your talking brewery your talkin my language 😂
Glad you enjoyed the updates. And yes, breweries are great! Cheers.
SUGGESTION-buy a cheaper mulcher and mulch all the limbs and dead trees around your property for unlimited mulch! You could even make mulched walking trails in the woods for y’all and Wally!
I love the copper lanterns boys, and the lighting on the hillside.
Thanks! ✌️
Happy Pride Todd and Rob
Happy Pride 🏳️🌈
Happy returns, Todd and Rob and wally!😉🦋🎸🎶🇺🇲🐕🌲❤️🤟
Glad you enjoyed! Thanks!
Happy Pride Month. We love watching your vlogs.
Happy pride and thanks for following along on the adventures!😎
Hello Todd and Rob, we're an Anglo-American couple watching from Sherborne in England. We very much enjoy your videos, two happy chaps, gardening, antique shopping and a lovely dog - what could be better 😊. Your house and garden are a credit to you. I bet you'd get a less shiny finish on that aluminium with a kitchen scourer (like you hand scrub stubborn dishes with after cooking meat in the oven). By comparison, we're battling slugs eating our plants here after a horribly wet spring but the sun is finally here and the garden is a picture of blossom. Wishing you both a Happy Pride from this side of the pond. Best wishes, Matthew and Gene.
A Busy weekend full of rainbows and delightful fun in the Mountain. love the pride flag. ""Happy Pride day"". Stephen
Thanks! 👍 Happy pride!
Happy pride month guys
Happy Pride!🏳️🌈
One season will take the shine off those fixtures. They will look great as they oxidize naturally. Your place is looking so good, guys!!😊
That might just do the trick then! Thanks!
Howdy Boys!! Hey get it while you're young!!! A good cold beer is always a great treat after working out in the heat!!! Have one for me!!! Big bear hugs from Kenny in Ohio!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You got that right!
@@toddandrob Years ago, when I was stationed in Bermuda, I used to drink Goslings Black Seal & OJ! Good drink!!!!!!!!
The flowers are looking good, I'm impressed with your battery chainsaw, we have one and love it, the rainbow flag is a great accent to your porch, I would probably put a Cedar Tree in the void space or a Virginia Pine, you fellas are doing a great job with your mountain escape!
Happy Pride from Beautiful Milwaukee 🤗
Happy pride indeed!
Wow, it’s coming along great guys. It’s always a joy to watch the two of you and your huge smiles! Looking forward to the next video . Always something to look forward too! ❤
Thanks so much! 👍
Love so many things about this video … Todd’s shirt the copper lamps and Wally’s pool and the tour ❤❤❤
Some of our favorites as well! Thanks for tuning in!
Oh wow!!! Taking out those trees really does bring the light in, much better. ❤
I just LOVE how your place looks after dark, beautiful and, peaceful ❤
Great to see you both as usual.
Blessings,
Laurel 😁❤️❤️
Thank you! Definitely peaceful and relaxing with the upgraded ambiance. 🙂
🌎 Salutations from Southampton UK. Enjoyed the video. Your hard work is paying off. Yard looks beautiful, especially in the dark with those out door lights. Summer 🌞 wishes....
Thanks so much. Yep, we are loving the evening magic with those lights.
Happy Pride‼️ 🏳️🌈. Everything looks awesome 🙌
Thank you! Happy pride!
Thanks for the garden tour...looking great and love all the colors! 👍👍 Love Walley's pool and I hope he likes it too! A quick way to age the aluminum or steel or your lights is to use vinegar and salt or even Drano on it. Worked for aging some metal for me! I was thinking a blue spruce or crepe myrtle might look nice in the spot. A really nice job and enjoy watching you both and sharing the mountains with us! 🏳🌈❤🧡💛💚💙💜🏳🌈
Thanks for the tips! And glad you're enjoying the adventures. Cheers! 🌈😍
Great to see you guys back!!
Missed seeing you! Great video! All the plants/flowers are beautiful! Glad that you are having better luck this summer!
Thanks so much!
The place is looking great, guys! Happy pride
Thank you and happy pride!
Great video - you can see the love between you both on the screen.
Walley is very proud of his front garden x looks amazing it’s so relaxing to watch , thank you 🙋🏼♂️🖤💚🖤💓💜💙
Glad you enjoyed it!🙂
Copper lights will add a different look. Doing things gradually like this on weekends is a good way to get things done and enjoy the process.
Definitely so. It's been rewarding for sure.
Hi guy's from Australia. Happy Pride month.
Hello! And happy pride! 🏳️🌈
Todd and Rob, What a fun video. We LOVE your garden project being in the gardening business here in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. We look forward to your next installment. Warm regards, Roy & Peter
Great to hear that you're enjoying the gardening updates, especially since you're both in the business! 🌱 Thanks for tuning in! Cheers.
Todd was correct, cutting the tree down took 5 minutes. Cleaning it up is another whole project. 11:41 You have wild otters on the mountain?🥰
😂 Indeed!
Happy Pride guys.. Got to love gay lumberjacks, LOL!!! The tree is down and Wally and his pool, he’s not spoiled… Guys the garden is soooo nice, good job!!!
We may need to go as gay lumberjacks for Halloween this year. 😉
Awesome! ❤ have a wonderful week!
Thank you! You too!
The garden looks amazing, so beautiful. Hydrangeas are my favorite plants, have many in our garden. Love the pride flag 🏳️🌈 perfectly placed. You guys are so freaking cute ♥️ Hugs y’all.
We appreciate it! Glad you enjoyed the plants and the pride flag! 🙂
A place like you have you don’t need antidepressants lol. What a place to relax even if you’re working. The sound, air, the colors, the smells it’s all so calm and relaxing.Hope Colorado was good to you❤❤
My thoughts exactly! Thanks for tuning in again!
I always feel refreshed watching your vlogs. Going back to hospital for surgery in two weeks so seeing you guys makes my spirit rise. Have a wonderful week.
Glad we can help bring relaxation to you. Hope for a speedy recovery!
Happy Pride month! Have been following for a while and have loved the progress y’all have made! Looking great!
Thank you! You too!
I had 2 cypresses and one died. I heard later that Holly-tone is great!
Nice channel. I do miss the mountains. I like the original 8 pride colors. Happy Pride 🌈🌈🌈
Thank you. Happy pride!
I just love you guys! Absolutely piece of heaven you boys have created there in the NG mountains! Happy Pride month!!!
Thanks so much!!
Another great vlog guys! The yard looks ready for a party. Happy Pride from Seattle.
Thanks! Happy Pride!
С вами интересно.. 🧚♀️
I don't know much about trees - even less about distressing aluminum - I learn from you guys! New lights AND DOOR will be awesome!
Dogwood trees are gorgeous - but just because there is a hole doesn't mean you have to fill it. (WAIT! Did I just say that?) HAPPY PRIDE!
Hugs ~ David
Haha, love this. We're learning ourselves too. 😎
I love the lights in the retaining wall garden. Happy Pride 🏳️🌈
They add so much texture and highlights to the space at night. Happy pride!
You guys need to install a woodstove...😉😁
We've thought about it, for sure!
happy Pride Month is couple cute ❤
Fabulous...the gardens the cabin the lighting (inside and out) the Mushroom 🍄🍄 shirt love❤ it...l want one.
Thanks for sharing fellas 👬 and happy pride🏳️🌈
Cheers🍻
Tony and Wollie 🐾
Thanks so much! Happy pride and cheers!
Those copper lights are very nice and will not only compliment your cabin but add so much character. Love your videos!!
Thanks so much!
You should plant some Thai chilies all over the planting beds. They will also keep the deer, rabbits and most animals. Just leave them year round and they will reseed and grow naturally
Had not heard that before, so thanks!
Todd seems to have to do all the wifely duties outside 😂
On "My Tiny Estate" those gents placed their new copper items into a garbage bag (which they sealed) with a.small amount of white vinegar for about 30 minutes and the pieces had an incredible "aged" patina.
Oh, that is an excellent tip, thanks! We might have to try this. Cheers!
Your magic mountain with a magical house, garden and you both make us mesmerized and happy every time we immerse ourselves in this wonderful, magic world. And this is a real, amazing state of waiting for the next so colorful vlog.😘 HPM! 🌈
Magic mountain indeed. Thanks for tuning in this week!
You may want to consider a red bud tree for your garden. There is one named flame thrower . Just a thought .
Great idea! We keep hearing those and dogwoods. Maybe we'll try both.
It's so beautiful and tranquil at the cabin. No wonder you wanted to buy it. It's just so magical everywhere you look. Love your vlogs 💖.
It really is. Thanks for the kind words. And glad you're enjoying the videos.
All your hard work is paying off! Your mountain is looking more magical every week, and I can't wait to see those new copper lights installed. I have one of those little chainsaws myself and was really surprised at how often I use it, even in the city. We have five century-old, enormous pecan trees, and record winds this spring have brought down a lot of branches to process. Happy Pride, boys! Love where you put your flag! Poor Wally tried, but I don't think he's going to channel Esther Williams anytime soon. Give him an extra biscuit anyway for being such a good little trooper! Cuteness to spare this week, and I loved every minute!
Magical, indeed. And yes, those little chainsaws have come in very handy. Thanks for tuning in as always! And happy pride.
Your front garden looks awesome and has filled in beautifully! The terraced garden will soon do the same. The night illumination in that area looks enchanting! As I watched, it occurred to me...why don't you guys give your property or the cabin a name?
Good question. We often keep forgetting to come up with a name, but it definitely would be nice to have one. One of these days we'll find one that is perfect.
Love the video!! Love the dogwood or evergreen idea! Dogwood would give you gorgeous blooms in the spring but evergreen could be great for Christmas decor lol!
Flowers look very pretty. I think a Dog Wood tree would look good on your hill. You are a very Handsome and Cute Couple. 🤗🌈🏳️🌈
We appreciate it! Thanks for tuning in. 🙂
Happy pride month to you guys... thank you for this lovely video... 💙💙
Thank you! 🙂
Your "front" door, could be painted red, referencing your deck. Cheap, quick and easy.
I painted my front door "Georgia Clay". I love it.
Oh, good idea. Right now we're leaning towards more glass but not sure what the frame color will be.
You could do a tree with color like a Crape Myrtle . Although they would need 6 hours of sunlight a day to thrive and not sure if it would have that there .
Yeah, it does get a lot of shade there, unfortunately.
I just want to pop in and plug another channel that I think everyone will love. It is Camper Vibe. They are wives that travel everywhere in their camper. They recently bought a cottage in Ireland that they are renovating. They are both hilarious and funny.❤
We'll have to check them out✌️
Just stunning the lights and landscaping ❤
Thanks so much!😎
Woodsmen woodsmen spare that tree ! 😂 sorry, that popped up in my head. Nice beautiful video as always. ❤
😊 thank you
I recommend a dash of Angostura Bitters in your Dark & Stormy. Thanks for another visual feast in your vlog! 🙂🏡🧑🌾🧑🌾
Oh, good to know! We have some, so we'll have to try that next.
Thanks for sharing, boys.
Beautiful home!
Your content is always a fun watch.
I think a tricolor Beech tree would look really cool in that spot. 👍🏼
Great idea!
Happy Pride Month ❤
Happy Pride to you both.🏳️🌈🥂
I love the new outdoor lights.
The garden looks great. You will want to divide your hostas in spring. They also will grow huge and take up a lot of space. The roots also grow big. I have many in containers. They are all pot bound but still flourish. They don't like full sun and love the shade. Just my experience. The cicadas do make that noise all night from what I remember when I was in Waterloo, Ontario, during a heat wave back in the nineties.
Wally is such a laid-back dog.
❤
Happy pride and thanks for the tips! Crossing our fingers the hostas last until fall so we can split them! 😉
CHILD I LOVED THAT HOUSE REGGIE FROM OKLAHOMA CITY
Thanks!
Enjoyed your video, everything is looking awesome and love the new lights and of course the beautiful pride flag😊❤❤❤
Thank you so much 😀
Happy Pride!!!
🍾🥂🌈🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️🎉
Same to you! 🌈
Love your red hot pokers!
They are amazing, right? Can't wait to find more.
Hear that sound too
Love your videos!
Where can I get that mushroom shirt? I love it!
Todd found it on an online store called Hoooyi. And thanks for tuning in!
Happy pride 🎉 🌈 🏳️🌈 Happy daddy's day.
Indeed, happy pride! 🏳️🌈
Happy Pride month Peter from South Africa
Happy pride indeed! 🌈
I always thought that those were Tiger Lilies. I don’t think that they are Day Lilies which I think only bloom for one day per blossom.
They do look very similar now that you mention it!
You don't have too many mosquitos there, right? I don't see you fighting them in the afternoon or morning.
Just
Gorgeous
Grounds!!!
Just right spot for a flag!
Nothing like playing with wood outdoors❤
Vote:
Blue or purple Jacaranda tree
Ghost blue maple tree
Add some creeping blue thyme!
LUV
COPPER❤
Dark N Stormies treats! Wally wets his feet!
Good idea to check tall trees close to house and power line and just preempt large fall damage branches
Sweeeet day in the life❤
Like another drill tool that is a saw!!!
🏳️🌈♥️🏳️🌈♥️🏳️🌈
Great recs for the new tree(s)! We'll be sure to find the perfect one for the spot. Thanks for tuning in as always! 😎
Use a flat spray paint on the lights?
Love the flag!!!
🏳️🌈
A second question...you mentioned the Home Assoc. required the propane tank to be buried ... does that mean there are other houses on the mountain? For whatever reason, your dwelling seemed the only one.
Yes, a few others, but we're all pretty remote up here.
Good Job guys
Thanks! 😎
I wonder if brass off would work, it literally should do the same thing to tin or shiny metal & take the paenta off it and then rub them in wire wool which should shine them right up ......actually you should watch @diywife she is unreal, she just did this with her bathroom fixtures. Well she brought them back to aged brass but she talked about that kind of stuff which is not area of forte but I enjoy watching them. Here in Ireland we don't have those kind of things except what your grandfather use to do.....we are kind of still in that era. I literally spent 2 days sanding my solid wood kitchen table thinking I would change it to something more modern (picturing matt finish less red/dark toned). Well between the local hardware guy who was almost 100 giving advice and my husband who took over, it did not turn out as I had planned & now I think of it as a concrete shiny block. Literally a truck could drive over it and drive away & it still would not mark. Plus to top it all off it looks like a mirror so I have to dust it every day...this was a beautiful natural walnut table ........anyhow you can tell I am still upset and it has been 2 years (every time I bring up changing it he thinks I am asking to rip down the Eiffel Tower and rebuild it)...no joke!
Also I am dying to know if you took my advice on the dusty miller cut backs.....I did my cut backs of last years lanky whippets about the time you were replacing yours and they look amazing now. I can't sent you a picture of them because YT does not allow me so I would love to see how far along yours are.......ok rant over!!!
So we did cut them back but oddly enough they haven't regained their beauty yet. Perhaps we trimmed them too much. Still holding out hope that they do return. But then again, we thought they would be annuals all along. The other ones we planted are thriving however. 👍
Will some species of Hydrangea's grow/thrive in N. GA?
Yes! We actually have a limelight along our driveway that is exceeding our expectations this year. The other varieties that we have in front of our house have bloomed here and there but something seems to be attracted to them. 🦌
Happy Pride month Guys from Canada !
Happy pride! 🌈
I'd say talk to your local plant/tree guys. Lots of the people on here aren't from your area....m not. I wouldn't know the first thing about your cypress & whether it's contagious or not.... Tips for cutting a tree...cut a wedge out, low down, pointing in the direction you want it to fall. The wedge should not go in past the middle of the tree. Then, on the opposite side of the tree, a little bit higher than the wedge, just start cutting into the trunk. When you've cut out enough, the tree will fall into the wedge &....plop!
Good to know! Always learning something here. We actually did try a bit of a wedge, but when it fell, it got stuck in the limb of the pine above it. All good though with some improvising on the spot!
Know anybody that has a woodstove? They'd love to have that nice dry wood...
Luckily we have a Solo Stove that we'll be able to burn that wood this fall. 👍
To quote Rob, “ WOW! Look at how weirdly shaped that is” per “ Michael Scott , of The Office” That what’s she said😂😂😂..that’s no way to talk about Todd!…even though those bright yellow shorts are burning my retinas😂..You can plant a Red Bud tree instead of Dogwood( I think these are disease prone?)…for white summer blooms you can plant an Elderberry bush/tree( size depends on pruning)…stay cool down there, it is 100 degrees here in the shade😮…thanks for sharing❤
Bahahaha. 😉 And thanks for the recs on the trees!
I saw a website you have maybe(?) where you sell some stuff/suggest, but I cannot find it now. Where do you get those up lights and are they solar? Thank you.
The ones we have are from Amazon and they are wired, but here's a version that is solar: amzn.to/4dO1iIa
Guys, first of all love your channel and watching the two of you transform the mountain house… as an architect… I appreciate the quality of your work… as a gay man I appreciate your design sense, creativity, and thinking outside the box… I had a question I meant to ask from the reveal video on the loft bedroom… You placed a Tiffany Vase lamp on the desk, that is just gorgeous… Where did you find it…? I have been searching for one that size for quite a while with no luck…. Have found several smaller ones… but nothing near that size… Would love to find out where you sourced it…! (Unless of course it was from grandma’s living room… 😂)
Thank you for the kind words. We appreciate hearing that you're enjoying the changes! Crazy enough, it's not a Tiffany lamp, but looks a lot like one. Todd bought it at an antique store over a decade ago, so we don't have much info on it.
@@toddandrob thanks for the quick response…! Had a feeling it might be an antique shop find… It’s really unique compared to what I find in stores and online…. Anyway… it’s inspired me to keep looking, it’s a beautiful piece…!
21:59, I’ve always pronounced them “nu-fo-fia”
Yep, I think we definitely pronounced it incorrectly.
Cheers🥃🥃🏳️🌈
