When I had patellofemoral pain the majority of my rehab consisted of variations and progressions of these exercises! Isometric quad exercises are amazing for pain relief. My particular favourite was an isometric squat, pushing up with maximal effort, into a resistance across the shoulders (e.g. a barbell locked in place). Have you noticed any of your patients say that they get clicking when flexing the quads I think it has yo do with my tracking or some cartilage wear

Only if you have a tibial rotation problem. If you're not sure, then get assessed by a professional near you.
