I really appreciate these videos. As a kid, I always wanted to play hockey but my parents could never afford to put me into any program. I am 21 now and just learning the basics, but already have been making a lot of progress by watching your videos. Hopefully, I'll be able to play in a beer league by next winter. Thank you guys!
I'm in the same boat as you buddy, played hockey for a few years when I was young and the traveling and expenses just got too much. Now I'm 21 and hoping to join a beer league either this year or next!
Im in the same boat as you man I can’t afford the lessons and my friend told me he was watching this TH-cam channel during his first time on the ice and it helped him learn how to skate eventually after a couple of months so hopefully this helps
Jeremy and Scott, thank you!! I am a 24 yr old woman who decided that I wanted to start hockey. It is very difficult to find a place here where I live in Georgia, USA, that I can skate to practice. I had my first practice with a women's team on Wednesday night and the players were extremely impressed with my skating. They asked me if I had sports experience (no), skating experience on ice (no), or rollerblading (no). They said I skated like I've been on the ice multiple times. This is all thanks to this video series. I have been watching them on repeat the last few weeks and kept a lot of these tips in mind. It really made me feel amazing during our drills when I heard my teammates yelling "Yeah that's right you got it!!" when I was doing drills correctly on the first try. I'll be recommending these videos to everyone.
You just gave me a lot of hope. I am an 18 year old woman and I have also decided that I would like to play. I was afraid it was too late for me to try. Now that I just read your comment, I have more hope! Thank you!! Have a good one!
I dont like u (Pls pls pls. Dont take this as a hate ok) but i dont like when u put videos for like only usa or canada i live in sweden and i couldent se that video u posted about conor and eichel
How To Hockey - Coach Jeremy hey would u be able to give a shout out to my hockey league George bray sports association it's a league for ppl with disibilitys that also can't afford to play it's a very amazing league
those red striped pants and red striped jacket are the perfect litmus test for a good hockey stance, you could put a protractor right on that angle...90 degrees all the way Scott
Yesterday I took some videos from me playing hockey and I was shocked. It feels as if I'm in a proper position, but when I actually saw it, it looks as if I'm just standing, so I decided to look for some videos to really start at the very basics. So thanks for this video, because this is really the starting point and it's mostly taken for granted in other videos. 👍
Thank you for making these videos. When I was 4, my mom put me in lessons, but when I was on the ice I never got off the chair they would give me. Now I am 12, and my mom put me in skating lessons but I am the slowest in my class. I went to the arena to practice, and your tips really helped, thank you.
Thanks Jeremy. I am an Australian living in Toronto and have been skating over a year now playing hockey at least twice a week thanks to your videos. I have multicultural workplace and they have all seen you videos for skating skills. Cheers
I don't know if you've found it already, but I think this is what you're looking for! th-cam.com/video/VT5OZe07N9U/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=HowToHockey-CoachJeremy
I was just wondering if you have any tips for keeping your skates straight and without the bender look. And if you have any good drills that would help me with that, that would be nice. Thanks
i know im not jeremy and this is a year old comment but my tip is to learn to tie your skates as tight as possible, and practice your balance. both tutorials you can find on youtube
Love the vid, any suggestions on converting if you’re already an upright skater? Apart from more practice of course, like how to train yourself to think that way versus what obviously feels “normal”.
Do you have any tips for improving squat duration? I can squat over 3 plates a side for 10+ reps but I can only squat into a hockey stance for about 30 seconds. Is this naturally easy for people? It hurts my legs holding it that low
Do more single leg exercises, as well as try a few sets of squats with just a plate a side, and pause for a long period at the bottom of the squat, as well as come up on the squat as slowly as you possibly can.
Man, I wasn't low enough during our last practice and got hammered against the boards - concussion for me. Now I might be out the rest of the season. :( Wish I would have watched this before pracy, that's for sure! How important staying in this stance ALWAYS on the ice is!!!
Thx jeremy never thought I’d want to actually pay attention to this now that I’m actually playing once a week Thursday nights men league a 9pm to be specific. Yea ladies take notes I play hockey lmfao 🤣
americans will use anything to measure but the metric system. lmao. But seriously. This playlist helps out a ton and is pretty much the only playlist out there; (as far as 30 mins. of research goes) really, really, helps out. Keep up the great work.
I’m really good at road hockey, so naturally I thought I would be good at ice. Man was I wrong. Skating is 90% of ice hockey. Your hands and iq won’t matter if you can’t keep up skating
I’m sorry but going that low cannot be beneficial it looks like your trying to hold a wall sit when you look at the players when they skate in the fastest skater comp they don’t get that low
Blayne Barrs really when I was in power skating and they made me get so low I was like taking a shit and they were getting me to skate and it was just wrong it never translated on the ice the only time it did was when I skated how I normally did (not saying I skate perfect it needed some tweaking but I did not need to do that) but I basically skated like I normally did added resistance and just lots of explosive drills and I saw pretty much instant results after a week or 2 on the ice

I am 13 but I learned that no matter what age you start at it still fun at any age
3 years later here’s another 21 year old with the exact same story, hoping to do the exact same thing. Hope you did it man!
Did you stick with it? How are you doing now?
Im in the same boat as you man I can’t afford the lessons and my friend told me he was watching this TH-cam channel during his first time on the ice and it helped him learn how to skate eventually after a couple of months so hopefully this helps

Go Pens!
Go Pens!!
You should make a video about turning on skates mostly showing the technique
I think that's video #6 in this series. Stay tuned
You said the same thing twice
Great videos, guys, downloading then one by one! Hope Bauer and Graf on the same screen are no harm for you, considering sponsors!...
Nice tips
Your awesome boi
just a tip, can't read white writing on white ice even if there was thin red background.
I like the Q&a
Did he just shart at 3:02? Great video regardless.
looking for this comment hahaha

Love your vids, but can you make a video on teaching you how to hockey stop? I could really use the help XD
This should help! How To Hockey Stop for Beginners!
Am teacher and V is spot on except loose helmet you would look more like teacher than student. Good job
I’m really good at road hockey, so naturally I thought I would be good at ice. Man was I wrong. Skating is 90% of ice hockey. Your hands and iq won’t matter if you can’t keep up skating
can you do a goalie how to
TH-cam Hero scttrprprd I agree I want them to do a how to goalie too!
So leg day everyday? Got it.
Yuo
I’m sorry but going that low cannot be beneficial it looks like your trying to hold a wall sit when you look at the players when they skate in the fastest skater comp they don’t get that low
Ryan B it helps while training to practice going that low. Utilizing extended ranges allows you to function more efficiently at lesser ranges.

+BarDownProductionZ _ lmfao
ouiDALOUNY25 you no quit
You know what's weird I can comment on Canadain channels but I can't comment on American channels
Shawna Bingham your gorgeous
He farted
Get a new helmet please.
Yeah right, it was $30 at Canadian Tire, perfect for coaching and as a backup. For games I have a better helmet, the E700.
You should make a video about turning on skates mostly showing the technique
