Another amazing video, thank you. It makes you appreciate how brave the guys who laid these tracks were and how brave the modern crews are when facing Mother Nature up there (and videographers too, of course).
I’m late commenting on this one, but I couldn’t not say something. It is just amazing to me that you capture these trains in that area with that scenery so well. Your flying skill, the tunnels, the trestles, even the clouds, and of course the snow on those trees and that splash of orange winding its way through, they all contribute to what is really just such an amazing video. It’s like a beautiful dream!
Another beautiful video. The Cascades, clothed in snow are wonderful. I'm impressed by the height of the forest. My wife and I rode over this route a few years ago on the Coast Starlight to LA. Unfortunately, it was dark and we couldn't anything. We could certainly feel all the curves and hear the flanges squealing. Being a long-time SP fan, this route is very significant and historic. Lots of Cab Forwards ran here.
Great video of trains of Pengra Pass! The scenery was great. Some of the light colored grain cars seemed to blend into the snow on the pass. Thank you for going out and taking this video.
Dan, your videos just keep better and better. This one is fantastic with the snow, my current favorite...probably until you post the next one. I love getting the aerial tour of areas that I spent so much time in 40 years ago.
Great work. It’s interesting to see BNSF traveling through the Cascades when they normally head north from Chemult and travel the Inside Gateway through Bend and the Deschutes River canyon.
I love the variety in power that UP sends/allows on the Cascade sub. It’s quite a treat to be able to see so many different foreign power consists and sightings on such a scenic and beautiful line as this one. At some point, you should try to see if you can find and record the box cars that are at the bottom of Shady Creek canyon, and maybe look for more historical artifacts similar to that across the west...that would be freggin awesome! Great video as always, Dan!
Watching these videos is therapeutic. Mind-blowing
Thank you!
Beautiful cool imagery to watch on a hot Texas Summer day. Thanks! 😊
Luv those winter aerials.

Well done Dan, another superb video.
Dude you’re bringing tears to my eyes. So gorgeous... and I miss it so much!
I am definitely a summer person: no snow. However, this is stunning. Beautifully well-done!

Great job…..can’t ask for anything more. Fresh snow and sit back and let you do your thing…..thanks

I was worried folks might loose sight of the train because of how it blended in! Thanks Thomas.

I has to do with the destination of the train in California as far as us railfans can figure out. It must unload at a site on the UP.
Wow! Awesome video!!
Thanks John!

I always forget about checking out the area below Shady Creek to see if I can find those box cars. Thanks for the reminder!

I'd like to know your music selection
I use music from a website called Soundstripe. It's a subscription based site.
Dan, I'm a researcher on a TV show. We're looking for footage of Rotary Snow Plough Trains. Wondering if we can chat?
