Thank you for your in-depth review! We're glad you enjoyed VITURE One and we're constantly working to improve the user experience for all, from gaming to productivity (a recent firmware update even addresses the color fidelity you brought up at the end there). The future keeps getting better day by day! 😎

They're only "screens for your eyeballs" Great! That's exactly what I want. Too many other xR goggs require me to learn a whole new UI, sideload some functionally necessary app like BigScreen, carry some adapters and accessories, maintain and update another device, charge another battery, create another ID login...Ugh!! I have all the content I want and need on my phone and laptop. I just want that in some glasses, easily. I want the absence of anything more than "screens for your eyeballs".

Great review! I bought the lightning mini battery adapter with my glasses to play on my iPhone XR and it all works fine, but the adapter is bulky and awkward to use. Also you only get 2.8hrs of play time and once the little battery runs out the glasses die and don't draw power from the phone. Updating to an iPhone 15 would fix this.
I recently bought an iPad air and they just directly plug into the iPad (like you showed) and worked fine off the iPad battery. I like just using them in bed at night with the light of the room off so its like being in a theater. What I do like is playing a video from a local file on the ipad and locking the iPad, but the video feed continues to the glasses so am getting a bed side arm to mount the ipad to for night watching convenience. That and for other consumption like manga reading etc.
I do use them in public like when waiting for a Dr visit. My Dr thought they really were just sun glasses and thought nothing weird of me wearing them. They want to order a pair now that I've demoed them ha!

Thank you so much! 🙂 They look a little silly on my face, I haven’t found the courage to wear them outside other than in a train or airplane yet 😅 and thanks for the info regarding the iPhone pack, good to know!

I know hitting on Apple is a trend but « Spatial Computing » is a term invented in 2003 and used by Microsoft and Magic Leap. Also make more sense that « XR » for that kind of headsets like the Vision.
Loved the video. The only thing that stop me using those is that I need prescription because I’m very much near-sighted, but like, very much. I should try them…

@@CheeseTurbulence You’re welcome. I know it’s a bit of a bad gesture to correct people out of the blue, but I’m tired of people firing at Apple for the bad reasons haha.
Still need to verify if Wikipedia is right for the 2003 date, but I did find internet « papers » on Microsoft website as old as 2019 with the term, and same goes with ML in 2020.

Less then staring at phone or a current gen MR headset. Your eyes are optically focused way farther out than with a phone and you can still shift your focus around when looking at the real world unlike an MR headset.

VR has more use that AR even though its a bit bulky. To spend more money to buy another gadget just to anchor the screen and other gimmicky features is very pricey and ridiculous . Not for me AR, I will stick to my QUEST 3 !

yeah 100%!! i tried these glasses from my brother (who hyped it up like crazy) and it was soo ASS. i cant even see the full screen, gets very blurry easily, screen actually looks small! its like a small screen shoved into your face, glued to your eyes. the colors are good and brightness too. to see the full screen i have to hold up the glasses and shove it even closer to my eyes. i cant even get the lenses adjustment right. after a few minutes of use it just hurts and makes me uncomfortable. its just really really bad. the only good thing is the screen which im guessing is OLED. still would never use it. VR is a million times better. the glasses just feel like a screen stuck in your face

  • @jamestacular

Stop calling this a 120" screen. If I connect these to my laptop I get a maximum screen of 1920x1080p, a smaller window and 4x smaller resolution than the 4K laptop sitting in my lap in front of me. I wanted to use these for work but I literally can't read the text on the screen and I'm constantly fidgeting with the placement of the glasses to keep the edges of the screen in view. The tech still has a ways to go before I'd consider it worth spending money on.

What do you mean the size of the screen? Is it small?

    • @DaveKatague
      @DaveKatague 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

After one day of using the entire set here’s my honest feedback:
I filmed an unboxing and the packaging is wonderful. I plugged it all in, searched to find the onboarding instructions and it’s a little strange plugging the glasses directly into the laptop, there’s no welcome it just turns on.
With the neckband it was nice and had a good welcome, calibration and felt high tech. That’s when I started to notice the Harmon speakers were a little tinny.
Either way I upgraded all the firmware, updated all the software on everything including the neckband and was ready to go.
The product is a REALLY nice idea but infront of my 55” screen it’s smaller than my tv. I thought it would be more impressive in size as a 120” but it would only look like 120 if I stand from the other side of the room, and it appeared 3 metres away. The resolution at 1080p is far superior to the Quest 2, but the Quest 2’s ability to hold an app in the same spot is ridiculously good because of its cameras and most likely processing power.
I was really excited for the MacBook experience (the main reason i bought it) but their new release of Spacewalker on my Mac didn’t work at all. I made sure I updated to the newest version and the screen just made all my screen black. I restarted, updated, reinstalled and all spacewalekr does is make my screen black and mouse floats around on nothing. The user interface or experience doesn’t say anything and it just stays black. The only way to close it is to turn off the computer, cause it hides all of the finder.
Spacewalker is non functional in its current state.
It is only slightly larger than my laptop screen and the actual screen viewable area is too small I understand the limitations of the glasses form factor, but it looks like you’re looking through two spoon sized holes, because frankly, you are. I liked watching it when lying down, but the placement of the magnetic snapping cord made it hard to wear headphones to watch a movie.
What’s worse is the screen lock promise or 3Dof mode doesn’t nail it.
As soon as I turn it on, I could see my heart beating, it shakes and has crazy micro vibrations that make it unusable for working or video editing. In the 3D mode on the right lens has a dead red pixel and a vertical line. I watched Avengers and unfortunately the dead vertical line was dead on arrival. Which was only noticeable once I turned on 3D mode.
I also bought the neckband as they on the discord promised a better floating mode experience which after a few hours of searching on their discord, their reddit, found nothing. The neckband operating system is pretty great, the fan placement is weird and it’s pretty loud and it’s strange that it’s near your right ear so unless you’re wearing earphones or headphones you can actually hear the fan whilst using it. They have a quiet fan mode, and apparently an even quieter mode, but it’s in beta and sounded like a hassle to make that work so I didn’t bother following that extra step.
Not sure why but in Avengers just before Tony snaps, the device just randomly turned off and it was on 35% battery, so that was weird and ruined the experience. I’ve seen it before so it’s ok but it was very strange, when I turned it back on, it replayed from 20 minutes earlier so it’s memory must’ve just crashed.
Also with the neckband, it doesn’t remember your wifi and there’s no auto connect feature. It also doesn’t autoconnect to ANY Bluetooth devices you used unless you select it again. That gets a bit lame as nearly all devices do that now. I had to reconnect the earphones every time and any Bluetooth.
I bought the gaming dock for the switch too and it allowed me to play switch whilst walking, so I was extremely happy with the gaming dock.
The sound they promised is worse than the quest 2, isn’t loud outside and has very little bass.
After this whole experience I joined the discord to ask about many of these things and their community manager was wonderful and took the time to reply seperately and have me advice to email “happycustomer@viture.com”. I get why they made it that, but making the email that feels like they’re trying to make me forget everything I experienced over the past few days.
I emailed but am yet to receive a reply.
      ----
      Overall:
1080p video quality - 8/10, blurry around the edges, great for gaming, but for working on Mac, that’s where the menus, clock, dock, and settings are.
3D quality - 7/10 - when the 3d mode is activated the blacks turn slightly grey and it loses contrast, vs when it was playing the sbs mode. It comes more grey and you can see the light.
MacBook experience - 3/10 - the 1080p for editing is far to blurry at the edges to be usable, the floating mode doesn’t work well, Space Walker doesn’t function at all on Mac.
Glasses Sound Quality - 4/10 - they’re glasses so it’s not easy to fit quality into its form factor, but Bose nailed it in their glasses, Quest 2 did, and these just don’t hit the mark. Even in the onboarding video the music was almost distorting and crackling.
Gaming Dock for Switch - 10/10 - does everything it promised and is light, keeps the switch powered and easily outputs video to the glasses.
Discord Community - 10/10 - got a response immediately from their community mananger but their email support will take time, unfortunately with the dead on arrival vertical line I was going to refund these anyway. The cons far outweigh the pros for it to warrant a replacement.
Email support - ?/10 - No idea what they would do to rectify the situation but im not happy with spending $1,400 on everything. Luckily I didn’t fully open the glasses cover.
      ----
I really wanted to love this product but there’s far too many negatives to keep this product, the vertical dead pixels, the red dot, the most likely faulty accelerometer, Spacewalker not working at all and the random cut outs of the neckband make it too violative a product to feel finished and I don’t want to be beta testing their entire product range for $1,400.
I work with beta testing tech a lot so I understand the pressures of making something that is so technically advanced and respect the team for giving it an extremely good shot.
For making it cheaper than Apple Vision, and for going all in on making the website cool, and the experience but there’s far too many things that didn’t hit the mark for the price point.
I can see how it won best product design for 2022, I was just trying to temper my expections for the additional floating mode features cause this would’ve been a 8/10 before the Apple Vision came out, but now that we can see what that is, and how that allows for working on MacBook, there’s alot to be desired.
