As someone decades older, I did not know the term close reading. I have been a proofreader, and in retirement my young relations ask me to critique their efforts - which, I realize, is close reading! They don’t want a punctuation lesson, they are looking for plot holes! Your clear and very useful video has given me some new approaches, as well as confirming that all that bookmarking and underlining I have done over the years is actually close reading.
