- My all-time favorite rally car is the Citroën Xsara Kitcar.
I've never seen an original one in action, only in the Citroën museum 2 years ago.
The car in this video, driven by Christian Astier is a F2000 spec, which is a spec below the full-on works Kitcars from the late 1990's.
Nevertheless I'm still glad I traveled to this rally to see it.
They had some mechanical issues on the first day, but still continued on the 2nd day.
Because of those issues they finished at the back of the field, but in reality they could have made Top 15.

Weight: ± 1000 kg / 2204,6 lbs

There is a Xsara Kitcar doing rallies in Spain this year, so I might have to travel there. :)
EDIT: And 1 in Mautitsius
I love the Xsara Kitcar and its screaming goosebump-inducing 4-cylinder engine. I wish we could have these ridiculously high reving engines in modern rally.
Turbos are here to stay sadly, these beautiful high revving 4 cylinders don’t make enough torque to keep up in low speed corners.
Heard that this BEAUTIFUL car was created using as base a xsara kit wrecked shell restored to pristine condition After lenghty overhaul and fitted with brand new mechanical
The Xsara is the most savage out of all the F2 cars from that era
One of my favourite eras of rallying - when the kit cars could go toe to toe with the WRC cars on tarmac at least. Citroëns in particular took some scalps!
That was my favorite era of WRC.
3:19 onwards is like the intro to Taxi 2 😄
Love that movie.
Le top du F 2000 😮
This great Xsara brings me back to the good old days! Thanks Man 😉
Great car! Fully understand your passion for it.
Never heard of this car before but thank you for introducing us all to your favorite rally car! Sounds incredible!
Back when they made the best cars in the world
I love citron's thanks
Great
I though your fav rally car was the xsara wrc, very cool era for Citroen
Edit: i just checked and that video was uploaded 7 years ago. Feeling old right now
Nice video, where is rally roches-bruns?
In France South Est
In de buurt van Nice.
@@Belgian-Motorsport ben je met de auto gegaan?
@@Stef-Records nee, da is wat ver voor een weekend op en af. Ben met het vliegtuig gegaan.
Do you know if this the same spec. as the car Bugalski took to victory in two rounds of WRC?
Bugalski's car was a kitcar, so slightly different from this one.
@@Belgian-Motorsport Thanks for the reply. So, I'm guessing this was the original and the Kit was version 2, or the Evo version.
@@rodbrakes4189 I'm not sure about that.
0.36... C'est bon, il a pile-poile respecté la vitesse (50km/h, mais en première...) 😁‼️💯🔥🛢️🏁🏎️🤓
Nice ! Differences with kit car version ?
I don't know exactly. Probably suspension and engine upgrades.
@@Belgian-Motorsport And wheels' size because of the F2000 rules
i think he's pretty close to the kit car motor, the main difference is on chassis and wheelbase, because in F2000 you are not allowed to make any modification on the structure of the car itself @@Belgian-Motorsport
