Celine was the first in history to sing with a hologram and she also did a mix of her singing with herself in Vegas. Celine makes a lot of history just a fact

@@willrichardson5931 they chose the wrong song this song took Elvis out emotionally to sing - there's a video where he's singing it several times and each one is intense. This song is the one song, that's his and should never be a duet. Just my opinion - though actually it's really my feelings. Now, if she sang it solo that would have been fine.

Dion spent hours on the stage singing her part of the song several times without an audience or anyone next to her, looking to her side on cue.
Then she did the routine again with a Presley body double who lip-synced Presley's song and matched his moves from his 1968 performance.
Finally, all three elements -- Dion by herself, Dion with the body double and the original Presley performance -- were combined through editing and a technique called rotoscoping, which traced Presley from the original footage by cutting him out.
"Rotoscoping allows you to take one image from a pre-existing piece of video and puts him a whole new environment -- completely new use of that same piece of video," Disney digital media designer Joe Husung said.

Of course it worked. Elvis is an icon and Celine is arguably the most pitch perfect singer since Streisand. Simply put, for such a duet, she really was the only choice. And she smashed it. What an electric performance- two of the greatest voices of all time. By the way, when this aired, it absolutely electrified America. It went down an absolute storm. What a joy to watch.

@paula smith - please look up wiki about this song - then watch the videos of Elvis singing this song, each time I can either cry or filled up..when you know the story and really listen to the words, you know he's actually pleading to the universe for a better world. ~ take care ~ And like Gerogina said, not putting down Celine at all..just a bad song choice. We know she has power, though if she'd used that type of singing then it really would have clashed even more, imo.

Those movies are made with only one goal: To distort & destroy the true story. The same is the case for documentations & movies done after the fact, like "World Trade Center" or "Titanic" and all that propagandistic stuff. The only reason why that stuff exists, is to kill the true story and also to put focus on distracting points which had no influence or even are totally made up. And that goal and process is everytime in every single case the same. You also can compare that to other movies done after the fact, about other musicians. The mechanics behind that are always the same, even the story itself which is shown to you, is exactly the same and is also following the same rules. In most cases, the story is distorted with diffamation of the charakter itself, to spotlight false messages like "..if that charakter had not taken as much drugs or alcohol bla bla.." It's always a totally maded up fake, to manifest a certain picture in peoples heads, far far away from the truth.

Its amazing, aside from the fact the storyline is great, and we learn about a side of Elvis and his relationship with Colonel Tom Parker that we didnt really know about. Austin is phenomenal. There are some great side by side videos on youtube showing Elvis singing the same song as Austin and he has the moves down amazingly. He really embodied Elvis. It also has the Presley family seal of approval. Priscilla even went out to help promote it, because she loved it so much.

Hello Georgina, they're doing this with Microsoft & Nvidia Virtual Reality Software. So in Real, Nobody is seeing a Elvis on the stage, but to be explaining complicated things quit simple: In this VR Software, you got 2 Video Channels. CHANNELl #1 is für the Object(s) inside the software. With the right special clothing (sensors) and special Contact Lenses for the involved persons (later I will get a bit closer to that lenses) you'll also be able to interact with these objects (gabbing them, like a ball for instace..or manipulatig them in other ways), but I think that extended stuff wasn't even neccesary. So, and the second Video CHANNEL #2 is to put the video layer with that objects from the inside of the VR-Software, and combine it with the standard Video signal from stage, that everyone sees everytime through the different cameras. So simply they're - or better - the VR-Software is combining these two different video layers and putting them together. I hope you now got the idea, and I was able to help you. :-)
It could be that Celine was wearing that contact lenses so that she could see in which place iside the software that object "Elvis" was processed. You simply can see the objects which are processes ind 3D Space through thise special contact lenses, since Celine is not sitting at home on the couch an looking the show on TV like you/we did. So she needs a device to see Elvis, ad that devis are these contact lenses. but like I said, I don't even think that the lenses were neccesary an that specific case, because that little interaktion to look to the side to Elvis can also be done with small amount of practise. Anyway. For more information about that VR Technologies you can visit the Microsoft or Nvidia website. Have a nice day.. :-)
Edit: If the crowd was able to see Elvis, than only if there were additional big public viewing event monitors (normally at the left and the right of the stage), but on the actual stage itselft, nobody could see anything.
Sidenote: NASA is doing their Space & ISS Fakery the same way, and you would be scared, how much of the daily News in TV is faked the same way. But that's another topic.

I think that episode all the special guests did a song from the year they were born, of course how could she represent 1968 and not do If I Can Dream with “Elvis”. Also, the biopic was amazing. Just watched it last night. I loved the directing, it really kinda feels chaotic at times, but it makes you feel the story and you really rediscover his music and learn so much about him that you forgot or might’ve not known. Austin was perfect in that movie. One of the best biopics I’ve ever seen.

This video made me CRY!!! I saw the new ELVIS movie last night. My HUSBAND wanted to see it and he doesn’t even love music like I do! I went but I knew it would send me into another Elvis obsession. I suffer these obsessions every 10 yrs or so. 42 yrs old and gone. The opportunists in his life. Disgusting. Infuriates me. Even his own father. I consider that Elvis was murdered in a similar way that Michael Jackson was murdered. I had closure with Michael Jackson’s death with the way his dr was punished. But I have no peace with Elvis’ death. Elvis’ death validates my need to protect, love and fight for the rights of those I love.
I’m off on a tangent. Would like to learn more about what you think about the range in Elvis’ voice.

Celine Dion is a force in singing but she and a lot of other women are so interested in techniques and perfection that the emotions don't show up. That is the total opposite of what Elvis Presley did, yet he was also perfectionist to the fingertips, seen side by side of What Now My Love from Rehearsal Aloha and real Aloha and it looks and feels like Elvis Presley was a robot, but he was not.

You should see Elvis's real performance of "If I can Dream". This digitally created remix is fun but is far inferior to Elvis's solo version. In other words, You need to see the original to appreciate Elvis's Vocal and performance mastery. Celine has an amazing voice. and we can hear that they had her volume a tad louder than his. ( her idea I'm sure) but she is still just a distraction from the real performance and vocals of Elvis.

I think what happened here is 2 things. 1 is that Celine is a soprano, and Elvis was a baritone, so their relative ranges are the same, an octave apart, but while Elvis was at the top of his range, they brought Celine down a third, to create a harmony that wasn't originally there. That meant Celine didn't have to push her belts at all, making her sound much cleaner than him, but also quieter so they turned her up in the mix. 2, American idol used autotune, which they wouldn't apply to Elvis since this vocal is so famous, so they just used it on her, creating a further disparity.
Oh, and there was an Elvis impersonator on stage, you can see him going a bit crazy at the end waving his arm a bit too much in one of the distant shots!

She just can't appreciate Celine's talent in full, and that is totally fine. It's a matter of taste. She likes Mariah to the point where she is unable to point out her flaws. Also fine. What my ethic can't swallow is why she continues to react to Céline to just get more views.

They superimposed and used a stand in. Now that you mention it, Celine might have been a bit too polished for him. Maybe Cher instead?

The celine dion /tommy korberg duet always makes me giggle , so cheesy , although tommy is a great singer , especially in the musical chess , apparently done by a technique called rotoscoping x

Two great singers. Elvis is amazing. The voices do not go together though.

I think because Elvis has a country twang to his voice and Celine has a more pure vocal sound that's why they didn't compliment each other. I think Miley Cyrus may have been a better choice?? With duets you have to match up the vocal capability with the tone. It would be like putting Mariah Carey with Bryan Adams (maybe not the right comparison but you get my drift)
    I like the song though.
