I think the side you did it was probably better, because the bud of the wheel was holding the tire up , which was letting the tire rest firmly on the rim , no leakage on the bottom side. Also I use a clip on chuck ,when mounting tires I tend to break valve stems more with the stem type chuck .
We have one, very seldom have to use it tho. 295-315/80 22,5 drive tires that's not recaps seats well on their own on 9.00 rims. Another great tool are the air Guage you set the wanted psi and it fills that, not more. Pcl makes a good one, not expensive either.
Very few of mine ever seat without assistance. They stack them in a wearhouse on top of each other and their usually compressed when I get them. I have a regulator on the green hose set at 110psi for running certain air tools and it allows me to air up a tire without over filling if I want to go take a break etc. The red hose is not regulated it's straight to the tank. So I can use whichever hose I need depending on if I want a lower psi or full tank pressure without constantly adjusting the regulator up and down.
I bought a cheap one. Only complaint is that mine opens the relief valve to soon for my liking. I also bought the tire changing bar with the roller foot on it. Works well.
Had this one at 110psi and no problems so far. Got All 4 mounted up. I could use a longer tire change bar. Never used one of those with the roller foot. I got those short bars years ago to change a lawnmower tire or something I think. They work for this but not ideal.
I bought one of these 5-gallon models (not the cheetah brand) and it doesn't work for crap. When you showed the flap valve on the inside I knew exactly why mine doesn't work very well. Mine has the ball valve and I think it's too slow to get the blast that's needed to get the tire to move and seat itself.
I would think it should still work but you would have to open it a lot faster to get the same result. I went with this cause I didn't want a Chinese pressure vessel between my legs😃
1.Centrifugal force from unbalanced set up stress the bearing. 2. Inflating tire to over 100 psi is serious business, must use safety cage. Safety first. Please check TH-cam of safety in tire fitting.
@@Klentung8989 we run 385/65-22,4 at 125psi. I use a cage when inflating new tires. If they blow its a serious problem. And counteract for balancing. Works great.
Valve stem down.. Air hose connected.. Then use bead blaster.

Yep I tried it on the other side once and it didn't work out. Worked best just like I originally tried in the video.

One more thing I thought of, the clip on chuck will air your tires up quicker also, if that is important to you , it is not to me, just a bonus

Most people don't bother with balancing anything but steer tires and some don't even do that. So i would say it's optional.
