In this video I restore and repair a US pilot stapler made in USA. Please leave your thoughts and comment below ALSO SEE MY WW1 RARE LIGHTER RESTORATION: th-cam.com/video/364f9SgLaZM/w-d-xo.html Warmest regards Martin
I have a 402 that I saved from the trash at work years ago. It still works. Question, why does the part behind where the staples hit the bottom plate fold up and down?
When you spent the 1/2 hour searching for the spring that got away I remembered a technique my uncle taught me when removing small parts like that. He would take a clear plastic bag such as a sandwich bag or freezer bag and slip it down over the part and secure it with a rubber band. Then he could make a small hole to insert the needle-nose pliers or whatever in and remove the part and spring in question. If it got away from him it would be contained by the bag and save lots of search time. Beautiful job on the stapler restoration.
I once read model builders use a vacuum cleaner with a piece of mesh like a stocking over the mouthpiece to hunt down missing parts. Wish I fixed my stapler instead of throwing it away. ☹️
These videos are so cool. It’s cool to see things from the past that we don’t see anymore. I never even heard or seen that type of stapler. And it’s nice to see that people restore these to their original state and give them their former glory.
That’s a blast from my past. When I was in my Primary school, we used to have a stapler like that. I never knew it came from the US as I live in the U.K.
Thoughts and comments? Pffffft, your patience and attention to detail qualifies you for Sainthood. Most of the things you restore I would have hurled out the door. Bro, you are one talented and skillful man.
That is beautiful. A good stapler is worth the money, and those older ones were made very rugged. Just look at what this one has been through and you brought it back to looking new again.
What I like so much about this channel is that he doesn’t play overly loud and obnoxious music the whole time, very relaxing and practically asmr. Absolutely great
I just found this same stapler in some old family stuff. It's not in as bad shape as yours started out, but I'd love to get it working again. Thanks for the inspiration! You've got amazing talent.
You are a wonderful and creative person. You are the first in the world. I wish continued success and I hope that God protects you wherever you are, my dear friend.
My wife volunteers at a thrift store and brought home a model 404 that was jammed, being destined for the trash. Parts went flying and no idea how to put it back together. THANKS for the video. Spring was rusty, WD-40. Working like it is brand new.
Watching these sublime skills every day now. An artist bringing functional objects back to life. Truly talented. Wish I could have just one tenth of your ability and patience.
Eu amo esse canal ❤️. Fico horas assistindo seus vídeos, me trazem paz e tranquilidade. Em momentos de crise de ansiedade, seus vídeos de restauração me salvam. Gratidão 🙏
Your video just inspired me, man. Mother has one of these since 1984. It still works as new even though a good polish wouldn't be bad for it. I don't believe I could get to your awesome levels; still I'm gonna try. Cheers. 👍
I have one of these that I bought from a thrift store for a buck. They said it was broken. 30 minutes, 4 jammed staples removed and a little oil, it now works great. Mine isn't as pretty though.
i did an arrow hand stapler and i dipped it apple vinegar for about a day .. next day washed it off and open it up clean all the rusted muck and oiled it and it looks amazing
THANK YOU so much for making this video. I am a bit intimidated by the depth of the restoration you did (I mean I might not ever try that or have the tools for it)..... but even using the WD40 on my 404 is cleaning it up. But I am still looking for way to get staples to flow thru to the front and work once again in my trusty stapler. it's been working for so long. I am not sure if it's "blocked" inside but can get a wrench and undo the top from bottom thanks to your video and go from there. Again, love people like you who know how to do this and choose to share it all. Thanks so much! Pinina in Phoenix AZ
I have the same stapler, was part of my father's home office. It is not as rusted as yours was, and not as shiny as yours became, but it still works well!
It's a proven fact that springs will launch through time and space into an alternate universe if you don't control them!!!! Especially when they're the small ones. LOL!!!! Nice job on the stapler brother!
Well how smart is that? Taking, baking, and making your own rubber items. And not only that, but using tinfoil as a conductor. Bravo Mr. Awesome, bravo!
Yes, a very good stapler. I don't know how one could have got in that condition. I used to find them all the time... usually in decent condition. Getting a little harder to find now.

Hello. Brazil🥰
Is there a manual how to install it? I have one and I mess up. I didn't know how to put it back.

I tied the spring with a long thread. And remove normally. It is fun to see how long that can go.
@@Goth7illa my husband found my earring that way. It’s a great hack.
Excuse my saying so, but 15 minutes is a quarter of an hour
I wish I had a fraction of this guy's talent. Great channel. Thank you.

We have one from my mother in laws estate. How do you clear a jam? In a more modern stapler the staple tray can open from the head
